Karin and the others looked surprised when I let them know I hired Maria, but when I told them what was going on with her, they accepted me favourably. In our adventurous days when we were running out ourselves, we seemed to have trouble with the food of the day, so I guess we know exactly how spicy we can't eat and have no money. Among them, Rubias had a particularly strong reaction and lamented his impudence.

"Originally, this is the country's job. The country is the one that needs to rescue the weak like them. The status quo of starving folk grass as a royal human being is shameful, but I have no power whatsoever right now. This is not the sole responsibility of Count Grom, the lord of this city."

"That being said, Rubias. You're not in a position to steer the country directly, are you?

"Still. Just because you don't have authority doesn't mean you don't have responsibility. Being royal, being noble alone, is where responsibility arises. Because we live with the taxes we collect from the people."

I think it's a fine aspiration. Luxurious is normal. Civilians want to fry and drink the dirt from their nails to the noblemen they take for granted. I know Master Grom, the lord of this city, works hard, but still, the world isn't sweet enough for all humans to live a decent life. If someone makes money somewhere, there will always be people out there who lose money for it. This can't be helped.

Mr. Maria came to work from the day after he signed the contract. I'm going to give her one spare key so she can come in and out at any time and ask her to do whatever she wants. He seemed surprised when I gave him a few gold coins as a buyout cost for the time being, but I'm sure he's never a bad person to cat.

The increase in population density had brought new tables into my house. In addition to our party, Maria and Leena, a round table of seven. Now we surrounded the table and were waiting for Maria to bring the dishes now or now.

I can't do it because I'm flustered in the morning, but the Maria family decided to take it with me just for dinner at night. Because if you go home from my house, and then you prepare your meal, Leena will wait hungry. So to save Maria the hassle and restore the health of the two, I had decided to discuss eating dinner alone with them.

"I hope it suits your mouth..."

The large plate offered to the table while humbled was lined with a number of chicken thighs that were served brilliantly and smelled good. Decorating the sides of thighs are colorful vegetables, and the liquid poured into the cup looks like a good throat water with a little fruit juice. Regardless of the gold wheat pavilion, crude food at home seemed like a fine treat to the basic adventurer.

"Wow! Looks delicious!

"True, you didn't even beat Rio's."

"Good smell...... is this using vanilla?

"Yes, I use vanilla to get rid of the smell of meat"

"A treat!"

Karin and the others, of course, couldn't wait for Leena to grow up, so the greeting was there, and we quickly reached out to cook. The gravy overflows from the mutilated meat, entertaining both visually and olfactorily. When I threw the hot meat into my mouth, I enjoyed the taste beyond my expectations.

"Yummy!"

"Wow... is Maria really an amateur?

"Right. This is a flavor that you can do as a business."

"It's brilliant. I never thought I'd cook so much food without mentoring anyone."

"Oh no... you guys are praising me too much"

In praise of her mouth, Maria was bright red on her face and lit up. Even if I ever went to work, I wouldn't have had a chance to behave like a cook to people, and this must be the first experience I've ever been praised for letting go. When I turned my gaze to Leena wondering if she was proud of her mother like that, she forgot to talk and was obsessed with eating. I can't help it. These kids have endured crude eating before. From now on, I want to feed him until he's full of stomach every day.

After such a noisy and soothing meal, Maria cleaned up and then went home.

"Sisters, Bubba! See you tomorrow!

"Be careful and go home."

He switches hands to Leena, who is in a good mood and waves vigorously, and drops off Maria, who bows her head with a peck. It's a safe neighborhood, not to mention the suburbs, and it shouldn't be the first time they get involved. Besides, Maria seems to be loose, but she seems pretty dangerous with that one. I think that's ok because that point should be forged in years of slum living.

The next day, we went to work well. After all, that's the only delicious meal that cheers people up. If Maria's gonna do the house thing, we should be able to work harder than ever.

"Good morning!

"Good morning, Lapis, you're in a good mood today"

"Did something good happen?

"Yeah, well. Various."

When I told Mr. Camille and Mr. Miranda, who had come earlier than me, about the circumstances while apologizing for pressing them home yesterday, they were both as happy as they were about themselves.

"You did a good job. Lapis saved one family!

"Right. It's not something I can do."

"It's too much praise. I have some help, but I was very eager to take care of the house."

"He said you don't have to light it up!

Mr. Camille slapped me in the back laughing, but I can only smile bitterly. I wasn't really just trying to help people.

- Karin point of view

I was surprised how Lapis helped the Marias, but we were in full agreement because it was an action that she would definitely do. Not as good as Maria's, but my village of birth was pretty poor, so I can imagine what kind of life I'm living somehow. I thought it was Boulder Lapis who was picking a way to make things easier for me while helping out with that. It was the best choice for each other because it allowed us to eat delicious rice and sleep in beautiful sheets washed every day.

"Karin, do you have any requests that look good?

"Hmmm...... right"

"I don't like requests too far away. I'm not gonna be able to eat Maria's dinner."

Next to me watching the bulletin boards in the Adventurer's Guild, two Ciel and Dieria were staring at the bulletin boards in the same way. By the way, Lapis is busy working at the counter.

"The crusade request is good next, isn't it? It's about time we got our ranks up."

Me and Ciel have become part of a brave party because of our accomplishments, but our rank as adventurers remained silver (silver) as ever. I think it's over gold in strength, but I didn't do a lot of requests with all my training, so I couldn't get my rank up.

When the Adventurer Rank rises, it seems like that's often the only way to change your life. You may be discounted by rank in stores and inns that partner with Adventurer Alliance, or you can get expensive requests simply by saying that you have a high rank. Most importantly, it was necessary to foil it as part of a brave party because of the rising social credibility.

"You can rank it up with two spills, so I'm on it too ~"

"You're in luck. Thanks to the title of brave man."

Dieria, a Zerbis brave man, has been silver-ranked since she signed up for the guild on an exceptional basis. He's not even weak enough to start with bronze, even though he's a brave guy, and he seemed to calm down by granting him a silver rank, because it seemed like more than gold would have caused other adventurers to rebel. It's pathetic to be treated like bronze by just one person, and nothing good, is it?

That's why we're going to rank up according to our next request. Basically crusade requests are easy to appreciate, so I guess crusade requests are best if you choose.

"Oh, how about this?

"Which one?

"Show me. Show me."

A friendly peek into a single request was made, where the contents of the crusade request were detailed.

"Crusade for Fire Lizard. The number is unknown. Damage to livestock and crops. Since the majority of villagers have witnessed it, there is no doubt that there are multiple inhabitants. The area in question is the village of Noud near the demonic realm. The client is the village chief. The reward for success is ten gold coins. Ask the client directly for more information"

"Fire Lizard..."

"That's a pretty nasty enemy."

Fire Lizard - That's about a big lizard. It's covered in sharp fangs, nails, and thick scales, so it won't even scratch with a half-breed attack. Fangs and nails are poisonous, and you can't beat them first with a rushing adventurer. At least if it's not above the iron rank, I think I'm just going to die where I fought. The most troublesome thing about it is that, as its name suggests, it spits fire. They have organs that simmer oil into their bodies, ignite them with their fangs when they spit out oil, and throw up braces with a range of about ten meters. It's a pretty strong enemy.

"I'm curious to say there's more than one number..."

"But the rewards are fascinating."

"Yeah, yeah. Even if you used one gold coin for the required expenses, it's three gold coins per person. Wouldn't you like to try?

Ciel and Dieria are in for a ride. Then you don't have to disagree, do you?

"Shall I take it then? I'll keep Maria's cooking for the time being because it's near the demonic realm, but we'll have to be patient there."

"Ugh... I can't help it"

"Let's keep it for fun when we get home"

No matter how strong you say it is, a request to do something critical in silver rank. The three of us can do anything, right? I was a little nervous, but I took the requisition to the counter where Lapis worked hard.
