Herscherik (Reincarnated Prince Series)

Chapter Four: Letters, Magic and Intruders Part Two

The royal castle of the kingdom of Gracis that day was ruled by darkness.

Tonight the moon hides in the clouds, and the dark night dominates the castle in colour, utterly denying the signs of those who have broken in. The person dodges the soldier on the night shift without difficulty and breaks into the room of purpose without sound.

The intruder was a secret detective working in an illegal backing guild.

This secret detective, who does not have a particular Lord and exchanges with him a deadline subordination contract in gold, was treasured by those who sometimes have dark behind him.

Job descriptions include gathering information about hostile parties, searching for something to talk about, and even assassinating them. The work this intruder had done could never be on the table, but his work was certain.

"Shadow Fang"

The intruder had no name, nor had he himself been called so in awe of his surroundings.

"Shadows" sneaking in without sound, "Fangs" already hanging around my neck late when I realized it.

Not everyone can just hire him. Because the reward of the backing guild goes up in proportion to the strength of the person.

Hiring him, a man of sufficient strength to have an alias, required a commensurate remuneration, and he also had the right to choose a job because he was a man of strength.

This task was the collection of reports raised by certain aristocrats to the Royal Castle. It was the butt-washing job of what could only be good with Abao, who reversed the report he was supposed to submit and the report he hid.

It was just a little bit of a hassle to break in. The place is the royal castle of this great power. It's not a loose guard like any other aristocratic hall, and the junction is putting up a first-class one. His arm, with an alias, could have broken in, but it was a place he wanted to avoid if he could.

(CHUCKLES, I hit bad.

The intruder strikes his inner tongue.

It was not as difficult as the content introduced by the back guild. In addition, the remuneration amount was sometimes higher than the job description, so I received the job because I needed a little money because it came in. But after the contract, the place of infiltration that my employer told me was Royal Castle.

(So it was so expensive, no one took a hand?

An intruder who drenched himself and felt that the delicious story had a back. Later I asked the receptionist at the back guild that the nobleman was completely hated by the people behind him because he had repeatedly made the same deception.

Complaining about not accepting such a job,

"Because intermediary fees are expensive, too.

and he is the one who received the back guild-like words.

Besides, it was on his back that he didn't flock. Had there been a companion, he might have advised me, but it is already a later festival.

But even if it's deceptive, once you've signed a contract and broken it, you might be able to support your future work. Just because it's a job in the back doesn't mean there's no job without credibility.

So he looks around the room, angrily but safely breaking into the royal castle.

(The info should have something for this room... what the hell, this room?

The room was a large one to which about twenty people would belong. Almost all desks, however, are stacked with paperwork, which I feel narrowly from a sense of compression. It would take a lot of effort to find the documents of interest from this.

For now, he heads to his seat at the top.

That's the seat where the head of this department would be sitting, and with any luck I can figure out who's doing what job at which desk. I thought that would shorten the time.

A top quality desk that is relatively clean compared to other seats. He starts fishing for paperwork on his desk with familiar hands.

I heard a noise.

The intruder stops moving frighteningly at the sound and looks around his hand at the knife he was hiding.

But there was no one to look around. Only a space with dark documents attached to it like a mountain remained unchanged.

(... are you out of your mind?

So he stops moving as he tries to reach out to the paperwork on the desk again with the knife.

From under the desk I tried to fish for, I got eyes on the person with the face.

"Er... and good evening?

The young voices in between sounded.

The Lord of his voice had a confused expression and tilted his neck, looking up at him, an intruder and relative.

The identity of the person did not give in to the pile of paperwork tonight, and it was Hershelik who lit the lights under his desk so that no one could find him and did every research.

It was an arrowhead that had already been an internal audit for the first time in a month and had somehow begun to understand the organizational form, work structure and flow. I was so enthusiastic that I didn't notice the intruder at all... until the sound of the documents on my desk being fished out.

That said, it's about him coming to this place at this hour, and the intruder hasn't made any noise until then, so when it comes to having no choice, there's no choice.

(Probably not from the castle, right? I'm wearing black clothes...)

The person Hershelik looked up to was wearing black clothes that were confusing in the dark night. The mouth is also covered in a black cloth with a hidden black hood, just the eyes I can see.

The eyes lit by the dark lights of the moon, blocked by clouds, are dark, but when you look nearby, they also look as red as blood. It was well established that the eyes were solidified in unexpected circumstances.

If an out of place child came from under the desk himself, it would harden.

"Um, it's not good to be here, is it?

That said Hershelik looks at the pocket watch. It's time to look around.

While I'm checking the clock, I can hear the shoe. I also found him in front of me with a wolf in his eyes.

Hershelik patrols. But it was an instant.

Returning the documents he was reading and fishing under the desk quickly to the desk, Hershelik slips through the side of the intruder to the hallway.

The intruder looked at Hershelik and returned to me. Normally, the brain was slow to understand what could be dealt with and what went further than expected, and it was easily emptied.

He tried to catch the toddler if he called the soldiers, but his actions were slow and Hershelik had already jumped out into the hallway.

(…… for each child, erase the look around.

Killing a child even though it's not a job has a bad aftertaste, but I can't help it. A knife was held there as the intruder gently swept his hands.

I look in the hallway trying to turn around behind me. Then there were children and soldiers standing there, not so much soldiers preaching their children.

"Your Highness Hershelik, how many times have I told you to stop trying your liver?"

"Oh, sorry ~!"

A child called Your Highness who bows his head and apologizes. A soldier who talks to preach his own child when he says he's under his command. The intruder solidifies again to an unusual sight.

"Come on, I'll send it to you, let's go. I'll report it to Your Majesty when I find it.

"Okay! I'll make sure they don't find me next time!

"His Highness Hershelik...... not at all.

The soldier leaks a sigh, leads and walks out. The voice must have been like a father, smiling bitterly in such a way that he couldn't see the expression but couldn't help it.

Confirm the soldiers to go ahead and Hershelik looks back once. And to the intruder who was asking about it from inside the room, when he smiled, he waved gently after the soldier, and when he caught up, he started chatting with the soldier so he enjoyed a casual conversation. Now the soldier's consciousness is no longer entirely directed at intruders.

The intruder overlapped unexpected events, unable to move, and dropped off the prince and the soldier around. And I searched for the object, but I couldn't find it that day, and I was forced to retreat.

Hershelik --Prince of the Seventh Prince of the Kingdom of Gracis, the last prince whose king's love is most profound

At his feast, which turned three years old earlier in the spring, a certain Count's national treason became an outrage and a domestic topic for a time.

Hershelik's name appeared to the public only twice in his birth report and on that topic. The public didn't pay much attention to the topic either. For the seventh time, such as the birth of a prince, the number of floors is more than the fingers of both hands if both the celebration and the princess are combined. Besides, corruption and other everyday tea activities in this country, and the people think more about tomorrow's life than that, so it's full.

The next day, the intruder who purchased such a story in the back guild twists his neck.

"Is that the prince?

(You're the one doing the research in the middle of the night?

It was that night that the answer to the intruder's question would come.

"Evening, uh, intruder?

He was waiting at the window when he broke into the same room. Unlike the day before, the light of the moon illuminates the indoors. The blonde, illuminated by its light, is fantastic, and as well as her hair, the bright eye that receives the light applauds for an even more fantastic atmosphere.

I could not see any hostility in those eyes, but the fact that a young prince was on the spot even though it was late at night was in itself unrealistic and a different sight.

The intruder sets up a knife reflexively, but the opposing Hershelik waves his hands hastily, indicating that there is no hostility.

"Hey, wait a minute! Because you are not here except me. Don't worry, I won't be around for another hour.

"…… What does it look like to me?

A low alert voice is heard from the intruder.

But Hershelik thought he would listen, stroking his chest down.

"I wanted to ask you something.

Saying so, Hershelik offers a single document. The intruder sees the paperwork without dropping the knife. It was a list of purchases of food and equipment that would have been purchased at the castle.

Hershelik asks the neck tilting intruder with a serious face.

"Is this high in market prices? Or cheap?"

Because the intent of the question could not be read, the intruder stopped thinking for a moment. And answer without thinking.

"There are more than three times the minimum price.

(There is also quality, but it will be too much.

When he doesn't have a job, he lives disputed by the average person. He also goes to the market. All the amounts on the list were so pricey that they would tip their necks.

Hershelik, who predicted the answer, sighs and puts his head to rest.

"I figured... I might be able to help a little.

Hershelik starts bumping and talking to himself. And he brought another loud sigh, facing the intruder.

"Thank you. The people at the castle didn't tell me, so I saved them. Oh, my name is Hershelik. What's your name?"

"…… None.

The intruder answers. I didn't even know why I answered that honestly later. It was also ridiculous to be alert to Hershelik, who just smiles at me as if I were speaking to an old friend, without hostility or fear.

"…… Then I'll call you Mr. Crowe.

That was the name of the big black dog he had at Ryoko's home before he was reincarnated. He was scared of his face and the neighborhood kids were scared and crying, but he was really a gentle, people-nostalgic dog with little barking. When I saw him, his all-black appearance reminded me of my dog Crowe.

"Why is Mr. Crowe here? I'll thank you because I got your help.

"Hey, I'm an intruder for once.

The intruder --Khlo couldn't understand why he was talking innocently about this as well. Having sensed such a cro mood, Hershelik looks up at the ceiling with a voice similar to, uh, the groan.

"I know you're quite a doer at the point where you infiltrate the castle, and if my life was meant to be, you'd be done with it last time. Think I'm not dead yet, which means I have another purpose.

(Because my neck would be chompy if I meant it.

Hershelik knows that almost all of them have no fighting ability. Still, I needed someone to know the information outside.

Merliah didn't answer me when I asked.

My father was too busy to bother his hands, and all the other queens were celebrities to ask questions.

Besides, I wonder if my three-year-old will listen and give me a proper answer.

"So that means complicity. Well, I spare my life too, so I'll give you what you want, so I hope you get home soon, but for real.

Saying so, Hershelik makes me laugh. I just so-called reopened it, but the way I laughed at it looked invincible to Crowe.

However, the person behind what is available is the person behind it.

Crowe doesn't tell his employer what kind of report he submitted and when. Hershelik then thought for a few beats and then pointed to a bunch of paperwork.

"Yeah, I guess it's in that bunch of incomplete paperwork over there.

Clo was half-hearted by the words, but when he fished a bunch of documents, he was able to find the documents you were looking for, as he put it.

"Isn't that right? I was curious because there were a few reports of a slightly strange number, but you wanted to replace that.

Clo's harsh gaze was pointed at Hershelik's words, who seemed to have already been checked, but he just shrugged his shoulders.

I gave this prince to her because she had already checked it, and later Crowe found out. If he didn't already know the paperwork, he would have bought time, or if it was serious, he must have misled and pushed the appropriate paperwork.

Somehow, Crowe thought so. Hershelik laughs at the suspicious eye clock.

"Don't worry, I won't tell anyone. Even if a little kid like this says it, no one will listen to me... well, so far, yeah.

That smile was not the smile that a child would do.

He then accomplished the request by slapping the replaced documents in the client's face. However, the reputation will rise in its skill and requests for entry into the royal castle will be frequent.

I thought I would do it again, but I was worried about the prince, and when I asked for it more than once, I broke into the royal castle and ran into the prince in a place where there were no children.
