Herscherik (Reincarnated Prince Series)

Chapter Six: Orphanages, Barons and Discovery Part One

A line of Hershelik broke up with the informant leaves the back road on the front street. Then that street was the neighborhood of the orphanage where Oran and Oran's fiancée were serving.

"Shall we go for a moment?

Hershelik says. Speaking of which, I had come to Castle Town, but I thought I had never been to an orphanage. Besides, the sun is still high and there is still time.

"Speaking of which, I haven't had a face lately either.

Since assuming the role of lead knight, Oran had missed visiting the orphanage because he worked in the castle during the day and stayed here at night lately, leading the way in front of the Lord and his colleagues.

The orphanage is located away from the residential area. Diving through the rusty iron gate everywhere, there was an old stone building, and a child's voice was heard leaking through the open window.

"It's your brother!

It was just as many girls as Hershelik who welcomed the prince in his line. The girl with the same colourful eyes as her hair on brown hair must have seen it through the window jumped out the door and held her innocently to Oran.

"Hiccup!

The girl uses her entire body to reveal her joy and wants to talk to Oran happily.

"I'm glad you look good. How's everybody doing?

"Yeah!... Who's this guy?

The girl looks at Hershelik and Kro as she tilts her neck.

Hershelik smiled and showed her, not to scare her.

"I'm Lyoko, this is Cro. Oran...... it's your brother's friend, nice to meet you.

Hershelik was so loving, but the girl hid behind Oran.

(Mm, hated it......)

Hershelik is lightly depressed when the child was confident that his niece had a proven track record.

"Mr. Octavian! Long time no see!

A man in his fifties came out the same door as a girl. I get the impression that I am losing weight because I have dark hair mixed with dark hair rather than white hair mixed with dark hair. He was dressed in something quite tailored that would just be aristocratic.

"Baron Almin, it's been a while.

"I worried because you haven't shown up lately...... here, Colette. It's probably in the middle of work.

When the baron urged him to return, the girl...... the girl called Colette turned her disgruntled gaze, but gave up and went back to her room. I just looked back once before entering the door and waved small.

When Hershelik smiled and waved back to respond, she rushed into the room.

(I knew they hated you?

Even more depressing Hershelik, the baron turns his surprise gaze.

"Who are they?

Hershelik, son of a nobleman in good shape to see. Clo with tailored clothes. What a mismatch for the orphanage.

"This is the son of the house I serve.

That's exactly what Oran explained when he was told to put out the word "friend," as he did when Colette. Hardly any lies. It's just that the house is royal and that Hershelik himself is the only one serving it.

It is not much known to the public that Oran has become the lead knight. If the master is a first prince or a second prince, his belly-hearted head will also be the subject of public discourse, but if he is a shadowy being called the seventh prince at the end, his head's presence will also automatically diminish. Of course not for people who don't know the facts.

"Your son was interested in the orphanage, and I took you. I'm suddenly sorry.

"Did you?

Baron Almin nodded to Oran's words, and he turned to Hershelik and carefully lowered his head.

"Nice to meet you, my name is Almin. This is still the last seat of the nobility...... Young lady, may I ask your name if you don't mind?

Hershelik smiles at the baron as he turns his warm eyes. It was because the atmosphere seemed kind to come out of him.

"My name is Lyoko. My apologies for the sudden visit.

(I can't say I'm just a prince...)

Hershelik also bows down, while adding yes inside.

I came here again today with patience from my usual way out, so it's not a good idea to name my real name, and if I do, I named him and I'm going to have another problem.

"Master Lyoko, right?

"You don't have to follow me like a child. Oh, it's Chro behind you. It's my... my go-to.

To Hershelik's words, Crowe gave an unsatisfactory expression but did not speak to his voice. However, it is also unnatural to have a dedicated butler at his age, so it is the easiest way to introduce him as a sponsor.

"Then let me show you.

Baron Almin walked out and the three guests followed.

Inside it was cleaner and cleaner than Hershelik had imagined. The reason he imagined it was because he had the image of a desolate mouse running everywhere.

"There are a total of twenty of twelve boys and eight girls here.

While leading the way, the Baron explains the orphanage.

"These are children who are never going to lose their parents or become unable to raise them.

"Why did Baron Almin go to the orphanage?

"... I'm not the one who started the orphanage, I'm my wife. We were not blessed with children.

The Baron said the wife liked the children but was not privileged, then she opened an orphanage to help and raise many children and tried to replace the children in circumstances.

"From other people's point of view, they seem to be using the orphans as substitutes for their own children..."

Kids come running from the front. You look younger than Hershelik.

"Dean. Are you here till tonight?

"Shisei.

Stick around so the kids can screw around the baron.

"Yeah, I'm here.

"Will you read me a picture book at night, before I go to bed?

"Will you?"

When the older child tilts his neck, the younger child tilts his neck in imitation of it. When the baron nodded, they ran away happy.

"... me and my wife think like real children. Unfortunately, a few years ago, my wife traveled to the heavenly gardens due to illness, but I wanted to leave it here, which was her precious place.

"The baron and his wife are splendid.

The words of the baron waving at the children who ran away sounded like Hershelik loved the real child. Hershelik didn't look like it was ransoming the child, and even if it was, the fact remains that the child is growing up admiring him.

Even if this was hypocrisy, hypocrisy that you do is much better than goodness that you don't do.

The baron smiled at Hershelik's words, but his expression soon darkened.

"... I've just been having a tough and hard time managing these days.

"Don't you have assistance from the state or something?

Hershelik recalls the proposed budget allocation he saw at the Royal Castle. There should certainly have been some aid to all orphanages in the welfare section.

"Aid is insignificant from the state.

(The slightest thing?

Hershelik tilts his neck. If it was indeed a small but still an orphanage of about twenty people, it would not have been a small amount of aid so troublesome that it would have been stuck in its wings.

(No way, aid has been embezzled along the way......?

Hershelik falls on his knees in his heart to a story that is likely enough in his current internal affairs. The fact that even with a budget it hasn't arrived at the scene is likely something someone is nostalgic about. There is also the possibility that even filing a complaint will be gripped along the way.

"The church is helping me out for free now, and I'm very helpful. I used to be Octavian's..."

That's it. The Baron is relieved and looks at Oran.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Octavian. It's hard…………………"

"No, I'm fine.

Oran leaked a bitter laugh, but it didn't look okay to Hershelik. Because the way Oran laughed seemed to hide the pain.

Huh and Hershelik think. I wondered if I could stay sane if my loved ones were hurt or killed, or if I could care for other people like him.

(What if a father or family member... Khlo or Oran is killed...?

It's not just them. What if someone you know comes over here and they kill you? Thinking about it, Hershelik felt like something cold was falling and accumulating in her.

"Oh, excuse me. I was expecting a guest. I'll be away for a little while.

Feel free to visit the orphanage, and the baron breaks up with them fine.

Hershelik returned to me in the baron's voice. I find myself confused by the emotions that have arisen for the first time in my life.

(Now what was I thinking……?

Hershelik questioned himself. But I won't get the answer back.

"... Hershey, what is it?

Khlo whispered to Hershelik in the face. But Hershelik shook his head.

"Yeah, it's nothing.

Hershelik smiles and deludes the worried clo. At the same time, I misled emotions that I didn't even understand.

"Hey, this is the workshop.

Oran calls to the two who stop walking. In the room I was shown, boys and girls who would be elderly in the hospital were working on it. Apparently I work on packaging candy, chocolate, etc.

"I'll do my internal job here and sell it in town. Part of the sales will be used to finance the operation of the orphanage.

Yes, Oran explains. While everyone was working intensively, Fu and the girl in it raised her face.

"Brother!

The one who raised his voice was a girl called Colette who had been there earlier.

Colette happily rushes to Oran. Most of the indoor kids skinned it and rushed over to Oran.

"He's really here, brother!

"How have you been? Speaking of which, what about your sister? You haven't come lately.

Oran chewed the bitter bug for a moment at the words that came out of a child older than Colette, but laughed immediately.

"Your sister went a little far away.

When they hear it, the children raise their voices in regret.

(I'm sure your sister is referring to Oran's fiancée...)

Hershelik attaches the area. I'm sure Oran and his fiancée would have contributed so much to this orphanage that they admired the children.

"Hey! I haven't finished my job yet!

A rough voice echoed indoors. That voice was uttered by the oldest man.

When Hershelik turns his gaze, there are three runs of black eyes with short blue hair that look strong of will, and three scratches on his left cheek that look like nail marks caught by a beast. Is it about three times better than Hershelik?

"I'm sorry, brother Rick.

The boy, known as Rick, resumes work when he snorts, and the other kids imitate it.

"Can I help you too?

As Hershelik tried to take a good look at what he had left nearby, Rick's sharp voice flew in again.

"Don't touch it! The nobleman!

Hershelik's hand stops in a voice different from caution. It was more a voice that contained hate and rejection than caution.

"... Anyway, nobleman boy is doing this and fooling around about us making change, right?

"Brother Rick, you say too much!

Faster than Hershelik denied Rick's words, it was Colette who roughed up the words.

Colette lowers her head in regret as she rushes to come before Hershelik.

"Sorry, brother Rick has a bad mouth...... uh, Master Lyoko?

"Lyoko is fine, Colette.

Yes, he smiles. Colette dyes her cheeks slightly and takes her gaze off to delude it.

"Are you selling this?

Not realizing how she is like that, Hershelik refers to the packaged bag. Colette nodded at the question.

"Yeah, I can bag sweets and stuff nicely, make simple stitches... I just get a little money. Make it orphanage money. The aristocrats will buy a lot.

That's what I say and laugh proudly at Colette. But you don't have to. Hershelik feels bitter when he thinks so.

They don't really have to struggle if the country is solid.

"Sorry to keep you waiting, what is it?

Hershelik shook his head to the back baron and replied.

(Also, I'm helpless......)

Even though he was so frustrated by his helplessness, the color of giving up never floated in Hershelik's eyes.
