Herscherik (Reincarnated Prince Series)
Chapter Eight: Jealousy, Hate and Distress Part One
On a sword protruded in front of him, Ignatz Navy stares at his handles with a flame of jealousy more than despair.
"Why, all of you.........!
One knight took the word from the front. Oran turned back with cold eyes to those who were once friends.
He seemed calm, but his lord, Hershelik, had felt the flame of hatred in him in the name of vengeance. He would have split Ignaz's head and torso in two, if only by the Lord's permission. It is only following the instructions of Hershelik, the Lord, that we are now holding Oran down.
"It was tinier than I thought.
That's what I said, Marx, gracefully drinking tea sitting out next to Hershelik.
Until earlier, it was a melancholy expression that brought together the despair of the world, but now I see Ignaerts in the wind that there are no shards of it and it is not enough.
(Yeah, my oldest brother was even more amazing than I thought.
Hershelik recalls what happened earlier.
When Ignaerts showed up in the room, Marx fell on him with a dummy look. Of course I didn't drop it in color. At first I suspected him with a frigid look, and when I saw from the side that Ignaerts managed to break his heart to grab the prince's heart and Marx would trust him step by step, I said, "Brother, you're not serious, are you?!? He was acting like he was worried."
If it weren't for Marx's act, which even those who knew it was an act from the beginning could have fooled, Ignaz might have suspected him along the way. He is never an idiot. If there was any discomfort, it could have been deceitful.
And then he humbly offered a bottle of vitreous candy carefully packaged one at a time… The moment he took the medicine out, Oran jumped into the room with Hershelik's signal and restrained him.
"This is just candy! Prince, this is unjustified detention!
Hershelik leaks a deep sigh to Ignaz, who still gives rise to evil over this period.
"Until just now, if you eat this, you can forget what you don't like, you can feel better, you can't let go anymore, what an addiction to drugs you said.
"I didn't say it was a pill!
Hershelik sighed again at him yelling so. What an evil reward.
"Come on, man.
Oran's low, dangerous voice sounded.
"It's all true that you were selling drugs and that you were approaching her that you didn't like in the past.
"... come on, you're the one making it a good addition, aren't you?
Stare straight at Oran as Ignaz provokes.
"You're the one who drove her, not me.
Oran's expression fell out of the words as if he had been switched on. Hershelik and Marx felt danger in that look, but Ignatz would not stop saying it.
"As a result of you not knowing her distress, not looking at her, only seeing yourself, she ran off to the pills! I didn't do anything!
Saying so, Oran lowers the sword he was pointing at without power. Ignaerts smiled victoriously at the motion. But the next moment, Oran shook up his sword, hating his blade and trying to feed it to him.
"Stop it, Oran.
That was never an absurd voice. To a quiet, but absolute order, he stops moving.
"…… Prince.
Oran turns his gaze to Hershelik, the Lord of his voice. There was a laid-back Hershelik looking to him.
"Ignaerts, this isn't medicine, is it?
Confirming Oran, who stopped the movement, Hershelik points to a bottle of vitreous to Ignaz.
"Ah, oh. That's just candy.
"Yes, then..."
Hershelik laughed nicely. He's supposed to be laughing, but Marx, sitting next to him, scratches something he can't bottom on his smile, and his spine creeps.
"Now, let me try it all?
The smile stays and Hershelik reaches out his hand to the bottle of vitreous glass as he rises off the couch. And I offered to get it out of there and give it to him.
"You can eat all the candy, right? You want me to get you some tea, too?
Ignaerts retreats to Hershelik, who does not say yes or no. But just behind him, Oran turned around and stopped him from going.
"Why run? If this is just candy, you should be able to eat it, right?
"That is……"
"Hey, why aren't you eating?
Hershelik approaches Ignaz. Hershelik stops smiling at him for being silent.
When I took the wrapping paper, it was really a candy medicine.
"I knew you didn't want to die, like them.
A subsequent study found that most people who fit in the medicine died when they stopped using the medicine. The other day, a nobleman caught because of Hershelik's and Oran's activity has also died two weeks later without being able to remove himself from the symptoms of poisoning.
"Even though you could die if you stop, the very fact that you were selling this is not acceptable. And..."
Hershelik continues his words. He was as angry about this as he was about the medicine.
"That Oran's fiancée died because of him? Only in your delusions. Oran worked hard for himself and for her. The mistake just ended sadly.
There are many things that don't reward hard work. Hershelik thinks so. Humans. Nobody thinks. Only in stories and delusions can things go as you wish.
Hershelik takes a glimpse of Oran.
"... I thought I'd not tell Oran about this. Ignaerts was after her because of her family name, her reputation, her business partner, and so on. So I approached Oran and became a friend, and I approached her as well. That was the purpose from the beginning.
And cold Hershelik looks at Ignaz.
"As a friend, I hear she talked to you. That's what you said to stir up anxiety, and then she got her hands on the pills.
That was the result of having Crowe investigate it.
Their classmates knew Ignaerts was targeting Oran jealously and his fiancée. But Oran and his fiancée were sympathetic from the side, and as noblemen, they didn't think Ignaerts could do anything about them. And the people around him who were jealous of Oran and his fiancée didn't dare to advise them.
But the incident occurred, her fiancée died of apparent illness, and Oran's grades plummeted.
They told me that they spoke to Cro funny and funny. There is no sweeter honey for the nobles than the misfortunes of others.
Humans have a variety of emotions. Bright emotions such as joy, love, vision, etc. Jealousy, hatred, fear and other dark emotions. All of which form the human mind.
So the jealousy of my classmates and Ignaerts is never a bad thing either. It's just that Ignaerts acted to discredit people instead of raising himself to food with jealousy.
"Nothing. I don't say you're all bad. But..."
Hershelik quickly puts the medicine in his hand into Ignaz's mouth, which was alarmed and half-opened.
Ignaerts let his eyes black-and-white for a moment and then hurried out the medicine. Instead, he seemed to be coughing up, trying to get rid of what was in his stomach.
Of course, Hershelik is putting it in his mouth in anticipation of Ignaerts spitting out the medicine.
"I will not allow you to insult my knight and his fiancée.
Hershelik, overlooking him on all fours, declares.
"…… Prince.
Oran stared at the prince. Hershelik's body was small, but somehow it felt very big.
(This is the last prince......?
Marx stumbles upon that unusual sight.
Until a few weeks ago, Hershelik was the last little brother in him. He, whom my father adores, was plain but mild in character compared to his brothers, under the impression that he was smart for his age. Without this request for cooperation, I would not have changed that impression in my life.
(The true Hershelik………)
him smiling beside his father
He's upset by a misunderstanding.
He's running to solve the case.
And he tries to protect his knight.
Which is the real him. Marx wonders if everything must be true.
Hershelik, who still hunts down Ignaz, is never the only purpose of hunting him down.
His primary purpose is to help his knight's heart. Oran, who had erased his emotions in Ignatz's words on the evidence, is now returning to his usual form.
Hershelik did what Marx couldn't do two years ago.
"Now, Ignaerts.
Says Hershelik as he looks down at Ignaerts squatting at his feet.
"Where did you buy this medicine?
"What? Hershey, what's the meaning of this?
Marx puts a question mark on an unexpected word.
"This man doesn't have the ability to refine this medicine. This medicine is an expensive and elaborate drug that was made at a national research institute.
Hershelik ran out of words.
It was on record that it was originally a drug to strengthen the human body in the first place. Doping pills to make ordinary soldiers a resilient human weapon. It was the mystery and identity of this medicine that strengthens the human body and at the same time eliminates fear. It was just inhumane, so the killer took away the place where the study was being considered for discontinuation two years ago. Officials, the culprit who took it away, have also died two years ago.
"Two years ago, officials sold the drug information to the outside world. And the medicine that went out for a short period of time disappeared in a few months and almost all the people involved with the killer disappeared.
In general, why were medicines for strengthening the human body brought out? At that time, the Bureau of Research had medicines that were more valuable than those that worked for the disease, such as restorative drugs. But instead of the information on the medicine, did you dare spill the medicine to strengthen the human body?
(I dared to choose this medicine. That's more convincing.
I wonder if the purpose was information on this medicine and it was only a by-product of it, such as gold. And I dare to put aside my time, and when my engagement with the country fades, the medicine starts coming out again. It's as if you're doing an experiment.
Hershelik looks down at him.
"Who are the people up there? If you cooperate, maybe some of the sins will be lighter?
A grinning Hershelik. But inside, Oran and Marx figured out that they wouldn't forgive him, but they didn't.
Ignaerts tie his mouth tight. Show him the sword so that Oran can see it deliberately, as his lips are so bound and silent as to discolor. A polished sword reflected him like a mirror when he turned pale.
Ignaz's lips move slightly. But it was too small a voice to even hear the two of them nearby.
"Clearly.
"…… I don't know!
To Oran's words, he screams as if he were a wasted child slapping the floor.
"I... I was just buying it from a kid! I don't know who's up there!
"Children………?
Hershelik recapitulates and contemplates his words. It didn't look like he was lying.
And look at the packaged medicine stuck in a jar of vitreous. I remember looking somewhere at which pattern.
(... No way!
Hershelik loses his word in unexpected circumstances. No, it was once possible, but it was the lowest and most unlikely.
"Brother Mark, I need you here. Oran, get your horses ready right away!
Hershelik panicked. Oran tilts his neck at the look of it.
"Prince, you got something?
"Oran, I want you to calm down and listen to me.
Saying so, Hershelik himself was the least calm one, though.
"I'm sure his children mean the children in the orphanage.
Oran's thoughts stopped at Hershelik's words.
