Chapter 1824 - 1823: Abnormal Fetal Position
She didn’t have any experience, and she was afraid that if it turned out to be nothing, all this panic would make her look dramatic. But then she thought, what if it really was something.
She didn’t dare take the risk, so she held her belly and agreed.
Mu Yeli thought for a moment, then directly called in a helicopter.
Outside, Christmas was still going on. Amid everyone’s revelry, a helicopter had already flown across the night sky and landed right on the hospital roof.
The people below got the notice saying an important person was about to land, and the obstetrics department needed to get ready—especially the doctors and midwives, who all had to hurry and prepare for battle.
She got off the helicopter and was immediately pushed inside on a gurney.
Before this, Ye Ning’s belly had gone through multiple checkups and was being monitored every day.
The fetal position was normal, the fetal heartbeat was normal. Basically there were no major issues; she could deliver naturally.
As soon as she was wheeled in, the doctor started examining her.
But that one check made the doctor freeze.
"Why is the fetal position abnormal?"
Ye Ning looked at the doctor. "Abnormal? It was normal yesterday."
"It’s off now, tilted a bit. You can still deliver, but usually in this situation we’d do a Caesarean section."
Ye Ning glanced at her.
The doctor was recommending a Caesarean section, since that was obviously the safest option.
Otherwise, if something went wrong during labor—like it took too long and the baby wouldn’t come out, or there were issues after birth—they’d all be held responsible.
So if there were no problems, they had natural-birth targets to meet. Each hospital had to reach a certain percentage of vaginal deliveries every month, and if they didn’t hit the target, they’d get called out by higher-ups.
But if there was even a minor issue, they didn’t dare take risks.
Especially looking at this setup—it clearly screamed rich people.
They didn’t know which family this was. They hadn’t gotten a clear look; by the time they arrived, Ye Ning was already wearing a mask, and Yeli’s face was thunderous at her side, so they couldn’t read much from him either.
Ye Ning looked at them, not entirely trusting—because their expressions were off.
Ye Ning might not be able to observe everything, but reading people’s expressions to gauge their mood was pretty easy for her.
She turned to Mu Yeli. "I want to call Jun Lin and ask him."
Mu Yeli said, "Mm, okay."
He took out his phone. The doctor over there snorted and muttered, "Hurry up, this isn’t something you can drag out. If something happens, we can’t take responsibility. If you want a second opinion, fine, but we’re a professional obstetrics department, it’s not the same as other specialties. Don’t go asking random doctors who don’t know this field."
Ye Ning acted like she didn’t hear her, picked up the phone, and called Jun Lin first.
"Senior Brother."
"What’s wrong?"
"My stomach hurts."
"Oh, diarrhea?"
"..."
Ye Ning said speechlessly, "What diarrhea? I’m in the hospital. I’m about to give birth. The fetal position’s a bit tilted, and the doctors here are saying I need a Caesarean section. I don’t think it’s necessary, right?"
Jun Lin said, "You’re having the baby now?"
"Yeah."
"You’re not in your own hospital?"
"Nope."
"Don’t, don’t rush into a Caesarean section. If there’s any issue, send me the ultrasound and let me take a look."
Ye Ning hung up, then said to the doctor who was walking out muttering to herself, "Doctor, give me the ultrasound results."
The doctor frowned even more.
"What kind of doctor is that? We can’t just let people look at these casually in here."
Ye Ning said coldly, "Hurry up and bring it."
She was frowning from the pain. Mu Yeli didn’t let Mu Ba and the others come in; after all, it was too sensitive in here.
(Stopping here for today... stomach hurts, you know how it is...)
