Chapter 1832 - 1829: My Godson Looks Like Me
Sui Qing could only leave. Once outside, she thought about it and figured a Nanny would work too.
So she went out again and started arranging for a Nanny.
Mu Hai had people go over to see the baby as well, but since Ye Ning was in postpartum confinement, it wasn’t convenient for him to go, so he didn’t. Anyway, once the confinement was over, they’d hold a one‑month banquet for the baby, and he could go see the child then.
Mu Hai also had someone talk with Mu Yeli, telling him not to be so harsh with his mother.
Not for any other reason, but because the things Sui Qinglan went around saying weren’t good for Ye Ning.
Mu Yeli said that as long as she stopped meddling in everything, he wasn’t actually going to forbid her from even taking one look at the baby.
She was the child’s grandmother after all; she did love the baby, they all knew that.
So the next day, Qinglan ran over again, and when she went in, she saw Mu Yeli there helping Ye Ning eat.
Ye Ning had gotten a bit more rounded these past few days.
At night she slept holding the baby, and Mu Yeli slept beside her, the two of them putting the baby in the middle. Mu Yeli felt very put out, because normally he was the one holding Ye Ning while they slept. In the middle of the night he even got up specially to move the baby over to the side so he could go on hugging Ye Ning to sleep, only for Ye Ning to suddenly sit up in her sleep and feel around for where the baby had gone. Fortunately the baby was still small and couldn’t move around. There was actually a little crib right next to the bed, but Ye Ning thought the milk‑scented little bundle was too cute and insisted on putting him next to her to sleep. Mu Yeli’s protests were useless; he could only silently watch his king‑size bed become occupied by an extra person, making it suddenly feel very crowded.
Because the baby was so little, he slept as much as twenty hours a day, so most of the time what Ye Ning saw was a sound‑asleep baby.
He would wake up long enough for a diaper change, and then be asleep again in no time.
During the day she sat in the nursery while the childcare specialist bustled around, cleaning the things in the room and changing the baby’s things.
The baby still didn’t have a name. These past few days Ye Ning had been poring over names but couldn’t come up with a nice one.
Mu Yeli had suggested a few as well, but Ye Ning shot them all down.
The Mu Family’s rule was that the elders would give the child a formal name when he reached one month.
They figured that was fine too; they’d just leave this headache of a task to the old man.
Ye Ning then gave the baby a little nickname: Tangdou.
That day Ye Ning was still sitting there watching the baby when QM came in, walked over to the baby with a grin and said, "This kid looks like me."
Ye Ning looked speechless. "You looking for a beating?"
"What? Just look, this sleeping posture totally has my dominance."
Ye Ning said, "Obviously he looks like me, okay?"
"Yes yes yes, most of the time he looks like you, but his sleeping posture looks like me."
Ye Ning looked at him. "Boss, he doesn’t have a drop of blood relation with you, he can’t look like you."
"Heh, what, he’s my godson. What’s wrong with him looking like me?"
"Get lost."
QM walked beside the stroller, staring at the baby.
The baby happened to be awake at that moment too, eyes open and looking around.
He said, "Ah, look, Tangdou’s looking at me. As soon as his Godfather came, he opened his eyes to look at me."
Ye Ning rolled her eyes at him. "Do you have any common sense at all? At this stage an infant’s vision is still poor; they can only see a bit of blurry shadow, they literally can’t make out who you are."
QM paused for a second, then immediately said, "Hmph, my godson isn’t like everyone else. Other babies can’t see, but he definitely can!"
