This wasn’t a probe. It was an utter crushing.

"Ugh!"

Li Mo felt as if his brain had been stuffed with dozens of tons of explosives, which then instantly detonated.

The neural suppression chip, meant to block his emotions, instantly overloaded and burned out under the high-intensity Spiritual Shock.

THUD.

Before his hand could even reach his lower back, he crumpled as if his bones had been pulled out, dropping straight to his knees. Blood streamed from his eyes, ears, nose, and mouth, yet he couldn’t even let out a scream.

Han Feng rose from his chair, walked over to Li Mo, and stomped on his struggling right hand.

"CRACK."

The crisp sound of bone shattering.

"AHHH—!!!"

Li Mo finally let out a bloodcurdling scream, his once-refined face now twisted like a Fierce Ghost.

Beside them, Dr. Qian and Engineer Ma were paralyzed with fear. They huddled together, trembling, the sound of their teeth chattering clearly audible.

"Ad... Advisor... have mercy..."

Han Feng paid the pair no mind.

He crouched, brought two fingers together, and slashed them across Li Mo’s left arm. Li Mo was completely powerless to resist.

SHLICK.

Skin and flesh peeled back, revealing the stark white ulna beneath.

Han Feng reached in and gouged out a fingernail-sized block of black metal.

"Well, well. An executive from the Celestial Craft Group, growing spare parts in his body."

Han Feng tossed the blood-stained transmitter onto the desk and pressed the intercom.

"Get the Garrison Army up here with professional interrogation equipment. Tell them we’ve caught a big fish."

In less than two minutes, a squad of heavily armed soldiers rushed in. They hauled the still-twitching Li Mo away like a dead dog.

Even after the office door closed again, Dr. Qian and Engineer Ma still hadn’t recovered from the shock.

They looked at the pool of blood on the floor, then at Han Feng calmly wiping his hands with a wet wipe, and felt a cold shiver run down their necks.

’Is this the legendary smiling tiger?’

’Breaking bones while making small talk... He’s beyond ruthless!’

"Alright, stop shaking."

Han Feng tossed the soiled wipe into the trash can and turned to the two clowns.

"Did I ever say I was going to kill you?"

The moment Dr. Qian heard this, he burst into tears.

"N-no!

You are merciful, Advisor Han!"

"Spare me the flattery."

Han Feng waved a dismissive hand. "You two may be stupid and crooked, and your skills are garbage, but at least you’re still human. You didn’t become lapdogs for that pack of lunatics."

"Yes, yes, yes! We are stupid! We are crooked! Absolutely not dogs!"

Engineer Ma nodded frantically, agreeing with startling enthusiasm.

"But..."

Han Feng’s tone changed, and his eyes grew cold.

"My project team doesn’t need people who just coast and wait to die.

Whatever methods Wu Zhen used won’t fly with me."

Dr. Qian’s heart sank. ’It’s over,’ he thought. ’We’re still done for.’

"As of today, you are relieved of all duties on the ’Shadow’ project team.

Go back to your original departments, or retire in logistics. The choice is yours."

Han Feng waved his hand as if shooing away flies.

"Scram."

Dr. Qian and Engineer Ma froze.

’That’s it?’

’No getting fired? No jail time? No broken legs?’

"Thank you, Advisor! Thank you for sparing our lives!"

As if granted a royal pardon, the two scrambled out of the office, moving faster than frightened rabbits.

They were terrified that if they delayed for even a second, Han Feng would change his mind and finish them off.

Looking at the now-empty office, Han Feng let out a long sigh of relief.

’Finally, some peace and quiet.’

’This bunch of so-called "experts" just hog their positions without doing a damn thing. They’re good for nothing but playing office politics and getting in the way.’

’With them gone, this project finally feels like it’s truly mine.’

He glanced at the time.

"They should be here any minute now."

The words had barely left his lips when hurried footsteps echoed from the corridor.

The door was pushed open.

Three figures appeared in the doorway.

In the lead was a tall woman in practical work clothes, her hair tied back in a high ponytail. She was carrying a massive toolbox.

She was Lin Xue, the designer from the original "Night Falcon" project.

Following her was a young man with thick-lensed glasses and a perpetually sleepy expression, clutching a half-eaten steamed bun. This was Wei Chen, the eccentric genius of the Celestial Craft Group’s Rune Department.

Bringing up the rear was a big, burly man. He looked simple and honest, but his eyes glinted with shrewd intelligence.

It was an old acquaintance of Han Feng’s, his senior from the maintenance department, Zhao Yu.

"Well, you’re all here."

Han Feng walked up to greet them with a smile.

"Cut the crap!"

Lin Xue slammed her toolbox onto a desk, her eyes burning with intensity as she stared at Han Feng.

"Where’s the prototype? You said if I came, you’d let me work on the X-01!

If you’re lying to me, I don’t care if you’re the advisor—I’ll still beat the hell out of you!"

"What’s the rush?"

Han Feng pointed out the window. "It’s right there. It’s not going anywhere."

Zhao Yu, however, was rubbing his hands together, his face alight with excitement as he surveyed the luxurious office.

"Damn, kid, you’ve really hit the big time.

This is the Chief Advisor’s office! The chair, the decor... Man, it’s ten thousand times better than our crappy maintenance bay."

"This is our new base of operations."

Han Feng clapped Zhao Yu on the shoulder.

"Senior, put the stuff in maintenance on the back burner for a while. This is the main priority now.

What we’re working on this time is a real game-changer."

Wei Chen, who had been silent the whole time, swallowed the last of his bun and pushed his glasses up his nose.

"I’ve looked at the partial Rune schematics you sent me.

It’s a fascinating concept—combining Ancient Arrays with modern integrated circuits. A very bold approach. But..."

He looked up, a fanatical light glinting in his eyes.

"The Energy conversion rate at some of the nodes is theoretically impossible to achieve... unless you can solve the problem of Spiritual Power turbulence."

"I’ve already solved that."

Han Feng smiled confidently. "We’ll head to the hangar in a bit. I’ll show you the real deal."
