Chapter 365 - 269: Rebellion Against a Half-step Grandmaster (Part 2)
"Die!"
Without a word, Blood Shadow stomped, shattering the ground beneath him.
He threw his entire body forward, the Battle Saber in his hand reeking of bloodlust as it descended with the force of a mountain cleaver, aiming straight for Han Feng’s neck.
The slash was incredibly fast and utterly vicious.
There were no flashy moves, just a pure, overwhelming crush of speed and power!
However, in Han Feng’s Spiritual Vision, the world seemed to slow to a crawl.
The violent flow of Qi Blood within Blood Shadow’s body, the contraction of his muscle fibers, even the trajectory of the slash and the three follow-up variations—it all appeared clearly in his mind.
’To the left, deflect fifteen degrees.’
Han Feng recited inwardly as his body, at the very last second, executed a sideways dodge that seemed to defy the laws of human mechanics.
SWISH!
The cold edge of the blade scraped past his faceplate, kicking up a shower of sparks.
Blood Shadow’s pupils contracted violently.
’He dodged it?’
’How is that possible?’
’I put my full strength into that slash. Even a Martial Artist of the same tier couldn’t have dodged it so easily!’
Before he could react, Han Feng’s counterattack arrived.
It was a simple, straight punch aimed at Blood Shadow’s chest.
"You’re courting death!"
Blood Shadow sneered internally.
’He dares to meet my Blood Armor with his bare fist?’
’Does this brat not want his hand anymore?’
He didn’t even bother to defend himself. He just flicked his wrist and swept his blade horizontally, planning to take the punch in exchange for lopping off Han Feng’s head.
But just as his blade was about to touch Han Feng, an intense sense of mortal danger assaulted him from behind without any warning.
It was the Broken Star Flying Sword!
’This brat was actually multitasking, controlling a Flying Sword for a sneak attack while throwing a punch!’
"Damn it!"
Blood Shadow was forced to retract his blade to defend, knocking the Flying Sword away with a backhanded slash.
In that brief moment of delay, Han Feng’s fist landed squarely on his chest.
The punch looked light and feeble, not even denting the Blood Armor.
A savage grin spread across Blood Shadow’s face. "Is that all you’ve g—"
The rest of the taunt died in his throat as his expression suddenly froze.
He didn’t feel the immense impact he expected. Instead, an indescribable burning pain and Sharpness, seeming to originate from the soul itself, surged through the point of contact!
PFFT!
His Body-Protecting Blood Armor, a defense condensed from his own lifeblood and immense Energy, capable of withstanding Tier Three artillery fire, was as fragile as paper in that instant.
A crimson-gold strand of energy, as thin as a hair, ignored all energy barriers and physical structures, piercing through his defense in an instant like a hot poker through snow.
"What... what is this power?!"
A tidal wave of shock crashed through Blood Shadow’s mind. For the first time, a fear born from pure survival instinct seized his heart.
This wasn’t True Qi, nor was it Primordial Qi. It was a higher-level Energy, born solely for destruction!
Immediately after, hundreds of minuscule streams of Sword Qi poured madly into his body through the tiny hole that had been burned open!
"Ugh!"
Blood Shadow grunted, stumbling back seven or eight steps.
He looked down at his chest.
The thick Blood Armor was still intact, save for a single pinprick-sized hole.
But beneath the Armor, his pectoral muscles had been torn to shreds, and blood gushed from the cracks in the broken plates.
"Soul-Burning Sword Aura..."
Han Feng retracted his fist, panting slightly.
That momentary burst of power had taken a significant toll on him as well.
It was the first time he had used that precious wisp of Sword Aura in actual combat, and the effect was even better than he had anticipated.
Blood Shadow stared intently at Han Feng, the disdain in his eyes completely gone, replaced by the madness and savagery of a wounded beast.
"Good! Very good!"
He stuck out his tongue and licked the blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.
At the wound, countless fleshy tendrils were squirming madly. It was the terrifying Recovery Power granted by the Evil Cult’s Secret Technique, forcibly stitching his ruptured organs back together.
This injury wasn’t enough to kill him.
But it had thoroughly enraged him.
Blood Shadow slowly raised his head. His already sinister eyes had now transformed completely into inhuman, vertical pupils.
"You can be proud of yourself for managing to hurt me."
"But this is as far as you go."
ROAR—!
The words had barely left his mouth when Blood Shadow let out an inhuman roar.
The muscles all over Blood Shadow’s body began to writhe and swell bizarrely, his once-stooped frame instantly shooting up to a height of two and a half meters.
Dark red Bone Spikes pierced through his skin, erupting from his joints as he instantly transformed into a half-human, half-demon monster.
A terrifying aura, several times more powerful than before, erupted from him.
"Secret Technique—Demonization!"
This was a last-resort trump card that only those at the Guardian Level or above in the Blood Feeding Sect could master.
Although he would be severely weakened afterward, or even drop a tier, its duration would grant him a massive boost to his strength, speed, and Recovery Power, bringing them to the level of a true Tier Four.
What was even more disgusting was that in this state, his vital points would vanish.
"DIE!!"
The demonized Blood Shadow gave Han Feng no chance to breathe. He stomped his foot, caving in the ground, and charged forward like a heavy tank.
He was too fast!
So fast that even Han Feng’s motion tracking vision could barely keep up.
CLANG!
Han Feng raised his arm to block, only to be sent sliding back over twenty meters by a Giant Strength, his feet plowing two deep furrows into the cement ground.
’What incredible strength.’
Han Feng’s arm went numb, and the Qi Blood in his body churned violently.
This was the difference in their physical bodies.
Even with his Middle Level Innate Sword Body, augmented by his Small Success Level Sword Control Technique, he was still at a disadvantage against such absolute power.
