Chapter 688 - 290: I Can’t Hold My Liquor! (Part 3)
After a few bites, Song Yu seemed a bit tipsy and said, "Li Yang, actually, we’re all very grateful to you. But, you know, we don’t really know what you need. We’ve been at a loss as to how to repay you."
"Why talk about repayment? You guys helped me too. We’re just exchanging what we need; no one owes anyone."
"No, we owe you."
With that, Song Yu raised her glass and drank it all in one gulp again.
After drinking, she said to Li Yang, "You don’t have to drink, I’ll drink on my own."
"Sister Song, we’re drinking, not punishing ourselves. I’ll join you."
Li Yang actually sensed something was off, but... his reputation for handling half a bottle and endless beers wasn’t just talk.
He rarely drinks, but that doesn’t mean he can’t hold his liquor.
He couldn’t really let Song Yu drink alone as some sort of punishment.
After eating a bit more, he realized his glass was refilled without him noticing.
Song Yu seemed to be feeling the effects of the alcohol, her eyes were even squinting, and her expression was completely charming.
"Do you know what Xiumu said to me? She said if she had known, she wouldn’t have had those two kids, and she could come serve you instead."
Li Yang smiled slightly but didn’t respond.
Song Yu was already drunk after just two glasses.
"This glass is for Xiumu..."
"I’ll join you."
Li Yang raised his glass and clinked it with Song Yu’s.
Even though there were only two of them, the drinking atmosphere was very pleasant. As long as there were no strings attached, Li Yang never resisted this kind of environment.
Besides, Song Yu always found excuses that made it hard for him to refuse.
Like talking about Xiangnu, saying he’s a reserved person, typically aloof, unable to express praise, but always wanted to thank Li Yang, yet never had the chance.
Li Yang could only keep her company.
Before they knew it, the second bottle was opened.
Song Yu’s speech was already a bit slurred.
Li Yang thought about how he had already made arrangements and continued to keep her company.
And so, another half hour passed.
Li Yang felt his mind was still clear enough to know what he was doing. But... his brain wasn’t reacting fast enough.
When Song Yu leaned closer, he didn’t snap out of it quickly.
He fell into the common illusion that many people experience when drunk.
I’m not drunk!
Song Yu leaned into Li Yang’s ear and whispered, "Little brother, do you know what nickname I used to have?"
"Huh? What?"
"Houhai Tipsy Queen."
"Haha, impressive, impressive..."
Li Yang was completely unable to think of anything extra; his language skills had plummeted.
He even felt like Song Yu’s cheek was incredibly soft, wanting to lean against it.
And echoing in his mind was what Song Yu initially said: "I’m not good at holding my liquor!"
Song Yu felt extremely satisfied at this moment, wishing she could shout: Gotcha!
Just as she was about to help Li Yang to the sofa, noises came from outside the door.
The main door was directly pushed open.
She turned her head, saw Liu Ruyi walk in, spotted her helping Li Yang, and said with an annoyed tone, "Knew you had bad intentions."
As she spoke, Liu Ruyi came over to help, and together they got Li Yang onto the sofa.
Song Yu was exasperated, saying to Liu Ruyi, "Who let you in? This is my home, I didn’t invite you. You’re trespassing, you know?"
"Li Yang asked me to come get him."
"Get him where? He can’t rest here?"
Liu Ruyi smiled and said, "This isn’t his place, of course he’s going back to Ruyi Hall."
"Ha, Ruyi Hall? What are you plotting, as if I don’t know?"
Liu Ruyi responded nonchalantly, "You might not know, but Li Yang already bought Ruyi Hall. It’s his home now. Oh, and back then, he said he’d buy everything about Ruyi Hall, including me."
"Hmm?"
Song Yu could even see the smugness in Liu Ruyi’s eyes.
"Have your maid come and help, get my boss to the car. My boss is drunk, so naturally as his employee, I’m the one taking care of him; won’t bother Miss Song anymore..."
