Chapter 258 - 256: Not Even Qualified to Be My Acquaintance
Fist Intent is a manifestation of a Martial Artist’s will. Similar concepts include Sword Intent and Blade Intent.
Actually, in Jiang Xin’s case, calling it "Fist Intent" doesn’t feel quite right. The defining characteristic of Zizai Extreme isn’t the fist but speed. But you can’t exactly call it "Leg Intent," can you?
Martial Dao Will is extremely rare. Among everyone Yang Shen knew, only three people had mastered Fist Intent: himself, Director Liang, and Luo Sheng. Jiang Xin made for the fourth.
Martial Dao Will has the characteristic of aligning with one’s own path. When he first entered Jiangti, Wu also said that for someone like Yang Shen who had mastered Fist Intent, deepening that one skill was superior to learning a variety of Martial Arts.
If one could reach the level of "Fist Intent Infection," there would be many additional mysterious benefits, allowing one to use their will and Source to influence the outside world.
Yang Shen and Luo Sheng each had their own unique flames, and Director Liang had his "Overstiffness is easily broken."
To put it this way, mastering Fist Intent alone was enough to be considered "invincible within the same realm." Even a genius would need luck and some kind of opportune insight in their Martial Arts Mindset.
Take Xu Bamboo, for example. Her talent was second to none, but she showed no sign of mastering Fist Intent or Sword Intent.
Setting aside the fact that Jiang Xin was extremely punchable, Yang Shen was quite curious about the Fist Intent he had newly mastered:
"Explain it. What’s ’Ultimate Free Will’?"
Jiang Xin whistled. "For example, right now I don’t feel like explaining it to you, so I won’t. That’s ’free will.’"
"Oh. Fine, don’t tell me."
Jiang Xin said, "Well, now I’ve changed my mind. I insist on explaining it to you."
Yang Shen: ...
He chanted silently in his heart: ’I’m back in Yanhua. Murder is illegal... Murder is illegal.’
Jiang Xin chuckled slyly.
"Basically, it’s a Fist Intent of doing whatever I want, whenever I want. As for its practical application in combat, it’s all about speed."
"And if you ask me how fast I am..."
Jiang Xin chuckled again, raising a hand to examine his fingernails. "That depends on how ’free’ I’m feeling."
This was another side effect of Fist Intent... A Martial Artist could only be nourished by their Fist Intent if they followed its core principle. If they deliberately went against the will their Fist Intent represented, they could even lose it over time.
For example, if someone’s Fist Intent leaned towards "decisive and deadly" but they were constantly forced to be hesitant, their Fist Intent would eventually be worn away.
It was similar to a "shattered Dao Heart" on the Cultivation Side.
Yang Shen was relatively lucky. His Fist Intent, "Rising Sun," focused simply on constantly growing stronger and rising higher, like the sun rising in the east.
But if the Fist Intent itself was rather abstract...
...then things could get even more abstract.
"Young Master Jiang! Young Master Jiang, you’re so fast! We couldn’t keep up!"
Just as he spoke, two flamboyantly dressed beautiful women came running over from the side.
’Huh? Why do they look a little familiar? Aren’t they the upperclassmen who are always massaging the senior students’ legs at the stadium?’
Yang Shen was using Jiangti as a platform to recruit talent, and Jiang Xin was naturally doing the same.
’It’s just that the talent the two of them were recruiting... didn’t seem to be the same kind!’
The two girls glanced at Yang Shen, then smoothly sat down on either side of Jiang Xin.
But Jiang Xin suddenly flew into a rage. "Are you blind?! You have no manners at all!"
The two girls froze, not knowing what to do.
Jiang Xin cursed with a grin, "Can’t you see the number one student in our year right here?! One of you, go give him a leg massage, too! Do a good job! Go higher! Massage his thighs!"
Yang Shen quickly raised a hand. "Don’t drag me into your madness. Are you asking for another beating?"
The two upperclassmen were caught in a dilemma and could only look back at Jiang Xin in the end.
Jiang Xin sighed. "Man, you have to live freely. You still don’t know how to enjoy life... Anyway, I plan to challenge you again next month."
"I hope you can handle losing this time."
"No, I’m pretty sure I’ll lose again. After all, I only recently acquired my Fist Intent and haven’t reached the ’Fist Intent Infection’ stage yet. But... I just love asking for a beating, don’t I?"
All for the sake of being ’free’~
Yang Shen stood up, not intending to waste any more time with Jiang Xin.
’This bastard’s Fist Intent has already infected his brain. He’s turned into a complete psycho!’
Jiang Xin, with an arm around each of the two women, suddenly said:
"Oh, right, there’s a gathering in a couple of days. It’s for the younger generation of the Martial Arts Families at Jiangti. Want to come and meet some people?"
"This isn’t my invitation; they asked me to pass it along."
"I believe everyone already acknowledges your strength, and they’ll acknowledge the name of the ’Jianghuai Yang Family’ as well."
Yang Shen stopped, looked back at Jiang Xin, and smiled.
"I don’t need them to acknowledge my strength. They’ll learn to fear it when I beat them up."
"And I certainly don’t need them to acknowledge my family. They’ll understand when they cross my path."
Jiang Xin didn’t get angry. He tapped his forehead, then blew a kiss. "You live even more ’freely’ than I do. I can’t stand those idiots either!"

Although Jiangti was both hyper-competitive and absurd, after leaving the sandy winds of the Noon Realm and coming back, he had to admit that the school environment was much more nurturing.
Though he’d been away for a month, Yang Shen’s dominance at the school hadn’t diminished; in fact, it had grown.
This was partly because he had defeated Jiang Xin in a Dignified and Proper match.
But it was even more so because many students now knew about the existence of the "Crocodile Influence" known as "Yang’s Disciples"...
Yuan Rui’s executive ability had always been second only to his filial piety. By Wednesday, he had already created an insignia for "Yang’s Disciples."
It was a simple design: a circle with the character "Yang" written inside.
The distinction was that Named Disciples had a simple "black circle, black character."
True Disciples, however, had a "gold circle, red character," with a "gourd pattern" inside.
This was, of course, modeled after the "Blood Contract Gourd."
The design wasn’t overly complex, making it easy to adapt into various forms like embroidery, badges, and pendants. Members could choose whichever they liked, as long as it displayed their status.
The thirty-odd Named Disciples would pin it to their chests or tie it to their backpacks, letting others know they had backing.
Furthermore, Yuan Rui had already registered it as a trademark under the name of "Changshen Biotechnology."
So, starting on Thursday, Yang Shen began to see quite a few students with the Yang Family insignia.
And many people, in turn, witnessed the majestic spectacle of Yang Shen’s presence.
For example, during a class, the moment Yang Shen walked in, seven or eight people in the classroom would snap to their feet and shout in unison:
"Greetings, Master Yang!"
A few clueless students, thinking the teacher had arrived, would also stand up dazedly and shout along. Realizing their mistake, their faces would contort with constipation.
Other times, Yang Shen would just be walking normally down a hallway when several students would suddenly clear a path, bowing and greeting him, "You’ve worked hard, Master Yang!"
It even got to the point where, when a certain someone came out of the restroom, two girls would be waiting at the door, bowing and offering a towel and a wet wipe.
Why two kinds, you ask?
The towel was for Master Yang to use after washing his hands.
The wet wipe was for in case Master Yang *didn’t* wash his hands!
After being ambushed like this several times, even Yang Shen found it utterly baffling...
’My "Yang’s Disciples" club only has a budget of a few tens of thousands a month. What are you all selling your lives for?!’
’Just what did Yuan Rui do to train them?!’
’How much "pocket money" did you pay them out of your own wallet?!’
He didn’t know, however, that Yuan Rui hadn’t actually relied on throwing money around to win people over.
After gaining valuable experience during his time at Nanliang High School, he had achieved enlightenment.
For instance, the club’s limited subsidies weren’t given to everyone but were distributed according to each person’s needs.
For the brother who was a "Loan Warrior," we had to make him feel the warm, supportive safety net of the collective.
For the girl from a well-off family, we had to give her an unparalleled sense of security and dependence.
Everyone has their own needs, and everyone has their own value. Who among those who got into Jiangti could possibly be useless?!
The Master’s position was too high—so high that being number one in the year was the limit of the rankings, but not the limit of the Master.
But among the great masses, there was also a vast amount of value to be squeezed... ah, no, to be *excavated*!
By leveraging all these forces, both on campus and off, they would all become excellent Nourishment for the Yang Family!
This was only the first step. As the Master’s "white glove" at Jiangti, he, Yuan Rui, would soon use the resources he had already gathered to plot his entry into the student council, and eventually even become student council president.
When that time comes...
’I don’t see why we can’t add a "Yang" to the front of the school emblem!’
Yang Shen had actually tried to give the Named Disciples some feedback a few times, for example, pointing out that waiting outside the men’s restroom was a bit too absurd.
But it seemed he couldn’t stop them, and his efforts had minimal results.
Yuan Rui, during his training sessions, had already drilled it into them countless times:
"The Master being polite is the Master’s business. The disciples fulfilling their filial duty is the disciples’ business."
And so, rumors about Yang Shen and the Yang Clan spread throughout campus. These tangible displays of loyalty gave them a presence that surpassed even that of all the Martial Arts Families.
After all, even those seemingly impressive members of the Martial Arts Families didn’t have people waiting with towels for them outside the restroom.
Coupled with the fact that Yang Shen had previously rejected a certain so-called "high-end gathering," some people who didn’t know their own place began to feel dissatisfied.
These people had actually been quietly paying attention to Yang Shen. Especially after Jiang Xin was defeated, they felt as if they had been slapped in the face as well.
Even if Jiang Xin himself didn’t care.
But in truth... Yang Shen didn’t even see these people... On Cyan Blue, strength was paramount. These third and fourth-years still loitering in the Innate Realm might seem outstanding to others, but they weren’t even qualified to be his acquaintances.
His acquaintances were all in the True Gang Realm.
