Hogwarts: I Am an Exemplary Wizard

Chapter 1108 - 805: Opening Banquet (Part 3)

A freshman completed the sorting ceremony, and Kael joined the other professors in applause.

He wished the sorting would slow down, preferably last until it was over.

Because during the sorting, all he needed to do was sit and clap, nothing else.

But this kind of thinking was obviously impossible.

When the last freshman was sorted into Ravenclaw, Professor Flitwick left with the Sorting Hat and the Triangular Stool.

Kael felt someone kick him from below; it was Professor McGonagall.

At the same time, he remembered that Dumbledore was supposed to speak at this moment according to the process.

Then he stood up.

The eyes of several hundred people in the audience simultaneously shifted to him, and inexplicably, Kael felt a wave of nervousness.

"Welcome to Hogwarts. Before the banquet starts, I’ll say a few words." He said subconsciously and then quickly caught himself.

"That’s it, let’s eat."

Kael sat down, and the applause thundered around him.

The golden empty plates were immediately filled with sumptuous food, shocking the freshmen speechless.

Perhaps it was because he was getting older, Harry thought back to his own entrance when he watched them looking so astonished.

He had been like that too, marveling at the food that appeared from the plates.

"What does he mean by that?" Hermione couldn’t help but ask.

"Who knows? Isn’t Dumbledore always like that? Eccentric and always saying things that are hard to understand." Ron, who was already hungry, grabbed a chicken leg, "But he got one thing right."

"What?" Harry asked.

"He really said just a few words."

Meanwhile, at the adjacent Ravenclaw table, Luna Lovegood looked at Dumbledore on the faculty table, tilted her head, and then turned to a person next to her.

"Can you come straight back to be the headmaster after graduating from Hogwarts?"

"What nonsense are you talking?" The person she asked said with some disdain.

She glanced at the carrot earrings on Luna’s ears and couldn’t help but scoot away, leaving a large space.

She didn’t want to talk to Luna, nor did she want others to mistake her for being friends with this famously eccentric girl.

Though Luna didn’t mind her actions; she never cared about others’ attitudes towards her, whether it was dislike or disdain. What did those have to do with her?

Luna glanced at Dumbledore on the stage again and softly said, "Can’t you? That’s really strange."

But because around her was empty, no one heard this sentence.

As the students began eating, the professors were also dining.

Kael had already spotted a mouth-watering roasted steak, grilled to a light brown and accompanied by garlic, surely delicious.

But before he could make a move, Professor McGonagall grabbed the steak beside him and inconspicuously moved a plate of frosted raspberry pie over.

Only then did Kael realize.

Yes, he was Dumbledore now, and this identity needed to be kept secret not only from the students but also from most of the professors.

And Dumbledore didn’t like steak; he only liked sweets.

Kael looked at the thick layer of frosting on the pie... one bite of this stuff might clog his throat.

At this moment, he truly regretted it.

Whether it was Voldemort or those robes that didn’t meet his aesthetic, they only made Kael hesitate a bit, but now, he truly regretted taking this job.

The clothes and such could be overlooked, but taste preferences... Sorry, as a Hufflepuff, he really couldn’t compromise on this.

Kael smiled while quietly putting down the utensils.

"Albus, what’s wrong?" Professor Aurora Sinistra, who happened to see this scene, couldn’t help but ask, "Not hungry?"

Professor McGonagall also looked over, with a bit of tension in her eyes.

"No, I was just thinking, I really shouldn’t have gone to see Newt this afternoon."

"Newt Scamander?" Professor Sinistra asked.

"Yes, his wife Tina has taken a liking to baking cookies, and I ate the whole afternoon. At the time, it seemed decent, but looking at it now, it was really a mistake."

Kael sighed, looking at the frosted pie with a kind of reluctant gaze, "Wouldn’t it be a bit too rude if I took it with me?"

"Certainly not." Professor Sinistra didn’t doubt, "Honestly, only you would like this."
