However, considering this is just a sprint race, even if he wins, it only adds 8 points to his tally, which is rather insignificant for his current 40-point lead over Verstappen.

Moreover, his position at the time was slightly awkward for attacking Verstappen, although there’s a chance of success, the probability isn’t high. If it fails, it’s highly likely not only Hamilton would overtake him, but he might also lose his position to Norris, and most importantly, it might cause car damage.

So, Qin Miao didn’t seize this typically excellent start, and only overtook Hamilton.
