Chapter 1219 - 459: Conquest
Even though this penalty was really unfair, once the actual punishment landed on Gasly, it was basically painless.
After all, he had already finished this race in last place; even if the FIA slapped him with a century-long penalty, Gasly’s position wouldn’t change.
After the post-race press conference, Qin Miao even went straight on his social media to show support for Gasly, because Gasly really was a bit miserable in this Japan Grand Prix.
And since this was about drivers’ lives on track, Qin Miao wasn’t the only one cheering Gasly on, nor was Mercedes the only team; Red Bull and Ferrari were also going hard at the FIA over this.
In the end, only after the Japan Grand Prix was over did the FIA, under pressure, announce the establishment of an investigation team into the series of incidents in the Japan Grand Prix, and only then did the matter start to slowly die down.
Once the race ended, the Mercedes team of course stayed in Japan and partied hard for a night.
The Japan Grand Prix and the United States Grand Prix were finally no longer back-to-back, so after Japan, most of the team staff finally had some time off.
Plenty of people chose to go out and relax at night, and after unwinding they planned to catch tomorrow’s flight home, get some rest, and then regroup in the States.
Qin Miao did the same, flying back home the day the celebrations ended.
One reason he rushed back was that he hadn’t been home for a while; now that he had some downtime, he planned to go back and take a look.
The other reason was that he still had obligations to fulfill in his endorsement contract with Yili.
Since it involved money, Qin Miao couldn’t just skip it.
And then there was Guo Fan’s side of things: the first movie Qin Miao acted in had already wrapped and was about to move into post-production.
Guo Fan had casually probed whether Qin Miao could come back after the Japan Grand Prix to shoot some stills for use in promotion once the film was finished.
The guy even knew Qin Miao only had a one-week break after the Japan Grand Prix, so clearly he’d had his eye on Qin Miao for quite some time.
With so many things piling up in a short span, Qin Miao naturally decided to swing back home and take care of everything in one go.
After landing, Qin Miao saw the two girls who came to pick him up in the airport parking lot.
One was his wife, the other was his mom.
Smiling, he walked up to his mom. In the past, for various reasons, he might have been too shy to hug his parents, but after being overseas for so long, Qin Miao was no longer that green rookie he used to be.
He gave his mom a big hug and said with a grin, "Mom, did you watch that Japan Grand Prix of mine? I didn’t embarrass our country, did I?"
"You were amazing!" His mom looked him up and down and said with a smile, "You must be exhausted from all the travel, right? Let’s go home first. Lunch is already prepared, and Qimeng also got a surprise ready for you."
Qin Miao looked at his wife with some curiosity.
Qimeng winked at him, but didn’t immediately clear up the question on his mind.
After all, they were still in the public area of the terminal; you never knew when people might show up. If someone recognized Qin Miao, it wouldn’t be so easy for them to leave.
So Qin Miao didn’t keep digging into it. After putting his luggage into the car his mom had driven over, the family headed home.
