But that was about it.

Qin Miao didn’t bring his talent from racing or gaming into real life—or at least not into foam darts. After emptying two magazines, he still didn’t hit Leclerc or Norris, who had already ducked behind cover.

He whiffed.

Instead, whenever Qin Miao poked his head out to check the situation, he kept getting headshotted by the two of them.

But Qin Miao quickly changed his thinking and started doing Black Uncle–style faith shooting.

Of course, when he plays games, Qin Miao does use his brain.

He knew Leclerc and Norris couldn’t have taken that many darts. Once they ran out, they would definitely have to go back to the middle area where the weapons and gear were piled up to grab more ammo.

At that point, Qin Miao could attack them with zero risk of getting shot, and might even have some time to actually aim. What he was doing was basically like catching timing in CSGO.

And that was exactly what happened. Because Norris and Leclerc hadn’t done any ammo management and kept suppressing each other with constant fire, they quickly burned through all the darts they’d brought.

The moment they ran dry, the first image that popped into both their heads was that scene of Qin Miao sprinting back through a hail of darts to grab magazines.

After a brief bit of thought, the two chose different tactics.

On Leclerc’s side, he just gritted his teeth and charged straight out, even using his gun to shield his face as he ran.

He was trying to block shots from Qin Miao and Norris, but in practice, Leclerc’s "defense" didn’t help much.

Qin Miao had been waiting precisely for that instant when Leclerc came out from behind cover.

The moment Leclerc stepped out, three or four foam darts slammed into his body.

They were foam darts, sure, but the distance between the three of them wasn’t that big, and Leclerc was mid–forward charge, so those darts still hurt quite a bit when they hit.

So while yelling, Leclerc flailed a hand out, grabbed a few magazines at random, and bolted back behind cover.

At the same time, Norris seized the chance while Qin Miao was busy unloading on Leclerc and dashed out from behind his cover.

By then, Qin Miao had already emptied all the rounds in his magazine at Leclerc. When he tried to switch fire to Norris, his gun was already dry.

Qin Miao was out of darts too.

But this time he didn’t immediately rush forward to pick up darts. Instead, he put his gun on the floor, sprinted empty-handed to the table, then scooped up a whole armful of magazines and ran back.

And because during that process both Leclerc and Norris were either on their way to get ammo or on their way back, Qin Miao didn’t get shot at all while he was grabbing darts this time.

Also, because Qin Miao’s way of grabbing ammo was pretty wild, he came back with seven or eight magazines. After that, the three of them just hunkered down behind their respective covers and kept dumping darts at each other.

Since Qin Miao had plenty of ammo, he mainly relied on faith shooting during this stretch.

Leclerc and Norris, on the other hand, were low on darts, so in the middle of these gunfights they’d occasionally have to stick their heads out.

But thanks to Qin Miao’s faith shooting, his accuracy sucked, and Leclerc and Norris couldn’t hit him either.

So it eventually just devolved into Leclerc and Norris trading shots with each other.

When Qin Miao realized there were no darts flying his way anymore, he poked his head up and saw that those two clearly had no intention of including him in their little game.

His CSGO instincts suddenly kicked in. Qin Miao grabbed a magazine off the floor, stuffed two into his pants pockets, and tucked another one at the small of his back.

Then he went straight for a flank on Norris.

The foam-dart room was a standalone room, with the yacht’s deck just outside. You could loop around from outside to the other side.

So while Leclerc and Norris were going at it, Qin Miao slipped around the outside and came up behind Norris.

He had barely stuck his head out when a foam dart fired by Leclerc smacked him right in the forehead.

But that didn’t stop Qin Miao from bursting into wild laughter as he pulled the trigger at the back of Norris’s head.

"Fuck! You rat bastard!" Norris yelped in Qin Miao’s rain of darts, then charged toward the spot where Qin Miao had just been hiding, tanking the fire from both Qin Miao and Leclerc.

During that rush, Qin Miao and Leclerc of course had a great time shooting. Once Norris found a new piece of cover, he launched a fierce counterattack at Qin Miao.

However, because he’d panicked when he realized there was a sneaky flanker behind him, Norris only discovered after diving behind cover that he’d forgotten to bring his magazine. He had no darts to use, and all that was left behind Qin Miao’s previous cover were empty mags.

Utterly pissed off, Norris simply hurled his entire gun in the direction of where Qin Miao was.

After all, compared to Leclerc, who was at least engaging him in a fair, straight-up shootout, it was Qin Miao—the sneaky flanker—that felt truly infuriating and intolerable.

Seeing that big gun flying at him, Qin Miao got a real scare too. He blurted, "Holy shit," then hurriedly pulled his head back behind cover.

With a loud crack, the gun Norris had thrown smashed hard into the hatch where Qin Miao was, shattering the rear grip.

In that moment, Qin Miao even felt a strange sense of déjà vu, because the sound of that gun breaking against the door was eerily similar to the sound of his car’s carbon fiber shattering in that collision with Perez in his last race of the 2022 season.
