How to Live as the Enemy Prince

< Chapter 8 Very, very nice to meet you (3) >

Whatever's so busy these days, Randall doesn't even show up for breakfast sometimes. There was no Randall to see if he was going to be late again.

One unwelcome man at the Round Table, prepared for the princes, sits with his back against the chair, staring at Kalian and rolling one tail over his mouth.

After enduring the sudden frown, Calian looks down at Plants and opens his mouth.

"It's been a long time."

As Calian and Plants take their seats, the area is quiet, as if you had promised. I didn't even have to wonder why. It was Plants who put the word out for silica that gave Kalian the "really bad cold."

Moreover, it was the first time the two of them sat together after that. So I am very curious about the relationship between the two, not the enemy and not the ally.

Calian shuts up without a word. He felt he didn't have to pretend to be close to Plants because he had a different way to go anyway. After keeping quiet for a while, the nobles' gaze gradually drifted away.

"Hey."

And then he spoke to me.

Plants leans on the table, gazing at Calian, still gazing at the nobles who are still looking at him one by one.

Kalian doesn't answer. Thanks to that, the same situation happened again a long time ago.

"Hey, bloodshot."

"Kalyan."

Calian stared directly at Plants' eyes for the title he did not want to hear again. And he added in a somewhat stiff tone.

"That's all I have to say. Brother."

Plants' green eyes sparkled briefly.

Plants, staring at Calian for a long time, twists his lip.

Soon, a small voice came out of his mouth.

"You're not."

No, you're not.

Calian's eyes narrow.

The day falls in Plants' eyes.

"Raise your arms, use your knives, ride your horses."

Plants leans back against his backrest. A sigh of relief clouds Calian's mind.

"You. Who are you?"

Kalian stares at her without a word.

Yes, Plants can be quite a challenge. Since the brother who put it in my hands and tortured me so much changed in one day, I'm Jan.

Calian considers for a moment.

It doesn't matter, I've decided.

Positive, but undeniable.

Soon, Calian's mouth catches a relaxing smile.

"You're telling me a strange story."

I didn't have to tell her the truth, because I wasn't someone who needed to win her heart like Alan was. As far as Plants is concerned about Calian, it's a secret that can be revealed.

So just grab it and let it go.

After concluding that, Calian's face was calm. It was noisy inside, but apparently so.

Plants is standing there staring at you like he's about to kill Calian. I didn't come back after leaving the banquet hall without saying anything else.

Suddenly, Plants remembers what he did to Kalian when he left. Afterwards, I remembered Plants, who led Cecretia to the netherworld.

Calian's gaze is fixed on Plants' vacancy.

I'm worried about Alan's face seeing such a Khalian from afar. I wasn't eavesdropping on the two of them, but I noticed that Calian's expression had been stiff ever since Plants left.

Soon, Kalian raises his head. Then I met Alan for a moment. Callian smiles a little.

"That's okay."

Instead of reaching out to Callian, Alan gives her a worried nod.

The next day.

Alan came to Callian early in the morning because he was overwhelmed by the work at the banquet hall. Alan smiles softly as soon as he sees her.

"I wonder if you've spoiled everything."

I stared at Alan with the realization that he was really fluent. This wise wizard can understand all of Calian's insides without saying a word.

Alan smiles quietly and adds.

"If you haven't done it already, you can just do it."

Calian laughs after hearing what you just said. Sometimes I bring up these useless words, and it's so good.

But it didn't really help, so Calian soon stopped laughing to talk about what happened with Plants the other day. Alan nods, confident that Plants is close to finding a change in Calian.

"Plants would have noticed. You can act like a jackass, but you're not a shortsighted kid."

Callian frowns slightly at Allen's generous assessment. Since there was no positivity or deniability about him, Calian simply said:

"First of all, you pretend you don't know, but of course you don't."

"What should I make you believe?"

Kalian closes his mouth again as he tries to answer. Alan saw it and said it on behalf of Callian.

"You have all the memories of the previous Khalian. As the prince said, it will never come to light. So don't worry about it."

Alan says, "Hmm, for a moment." And instead of trying to talk about something, I kept my mouth shut.

Even though he was told he would not live in Bern for a second, he was trying to tell Plants that he had found his past and sank. But it wasn't Alan's touch, it was his idea to shut up again.

Instead, Alan glances back at her and hands her something out of his arms.

"Take it."

A small box made of tin, containing an open silver ring. Calian bites, taking out a thick ring with no pattern on it.

"What is it?"

"Put it in. You're going to like this."

Since it was a ring a bit big, Calian put it on his second finger for a moment, thinking about where to put it. So, strangely enough, the ring itself shrunk and changed to fit the hand.

Callian looks at Alan, admiring him without me knowing that I didn't need to worry.

"If you call me sometimes when you're curious about this old man's thoughts, I'll let you worry about it."

"This ring is enchanted for communication."

"Yes, it is."

Kalian is really surprised. Actually, it was the most needed item for Kalian right now. I couldn't talk to anyone but Allan, who knew Kalian best.

"The royal palace is untouched by the power of the Sispanians. So while I'm in the palace, it's going to be difficult to have a conversation, but I'll respond whenever I'm outside the palace."

"Thank you. I'm relieved."

I knew Alan was spending most of his time in the royal palace, but it was good to know he could rely on him from time to time.

Allen nods with a wise wizard-like face as he looks at his favorite Khalian, not realizing that the church treasure chest had been robbed again.

And then Alan opens his mouth again, holding his position for another reason.

"And I got a call from where my wagon went."

It was a message from Melpire Pollun. Callian nods.

"Have you met him?"

"Yes. We met yesterday. You found another talent. How bright the math is."

And Alan took something else out of his arms and gave it to Callian. It included construction costs, initial operating costs, and teacher appointments, including the selection of school sites. It was about asking for money. Kalian looks at it carefully and nods.

He asked as if he was worried about seeing an unusual amount of money.

"The prince said he would cover all the expenses of the first time, but wouldn't the crowd go?"

"Money is not lacking. I intend to make it an institution run by the Baron Pollun, not a royal financial institution. I thought I could intervene. Even if I'm not as good as you, I should have something."

I understand what you're saying, and Alan nods and agrees. Soon, Callian wakes up, pulls a bunch of checks out of the vault and hands them to Alan.

"Tell him for me."

"Can I give you a large sum of money without having to keep an eye on you for the right amount of money?"

Kalian nods favorably.

"Yes, you can leave it there. Even if it's big, it won't be big enough for Baron Pollun. And I'm not one to give up my trust in money."

"I understand. I'll do that."

"Baron Pollun is a merchant and knows nothing of magic. In the future, I will seek advice from teachers and association leaders from time to time, so please take good care of me while I'm gone."

"Don't worry about it."

Then Callian asked Alan these questions about the sorcery institute instead of the magic class. He asked you to tell Melpire something that might help him.

You hear a knock outside, hoping to have that conversation. It was Jan.

"Your Highness, I'm sorry, but we now have another appointment."

"Then I'll be back in my afternoon magic class."

Alan gets up from his seat and tries to get out of the room, but it's not time to finish the conversation.

"No, Master. The Knights of Siegfried will greet you shortly. It won't take long, so if you don't have any other plans, just talk to me today."

"Are you saying you want to skip class and chat?"

Kalian nods, shaking his head.

"Yes. I have to go see the Sispanians tomorrow anyway, and I won't see you for a while. It's a shame I have to study until today."

The excuses I didn't want to teach were reasonable. Alan smiled and replied.

* * *

Twenty knights dressed in black armor stand at the gates of Chermill's palace, waiting for Kalian. Slayman was an elite Siegfried knight, and I was on my way to Chermill to say hello to Calian the day before I left.

Kyrie, who was out before Kalian, was looking at them with a fairly curious eye. Kyrie also handled swords, so it was because she wanted to assess the differences between them. Of course, Siegfried's knights also saw such a Kiri.

As the duc knight and the prince's escort fight unnoticed, Khalian, Alan and Jan emerge from the palace.

Khalian and Allen walk side by side, and Jan, the servant, is naturally following behind him quietly. The knights who saw it gave strength to their fists. Jan doesn't even know it. He just looks at the knights with a happy face and greets them.

The other day at the luncheon, Kalian was the first place to meet the rest of the knights, because he only attended articles called "The Egyptian Who Leads Them." I stood in front of them and looked at each of their faces for a moment.

"Oh."

Soon, Calian smiled strangely.

'These are Siegfried articles I've heard so much about. This is really great.'

It's worth noting how much Slayman picked and sent. It was big and fat, and the Kiri in front of it looked like a child.

Of course, that's not why Kalian looks like this.

'The eyes are strange, by the way.'

It's because the eyes of the knights who came to escort Kalian were so different from the eyes of the prince who had to be protected. If I were to use that word, would you be the son of a bitch who serves our Confucius?

This is exactly how it feels.

Standing next to him, Alan looks at this and says he sees something very interesting. I didn't know what was going to happen on Roselita's journey, but I wanted them to see Kalian's swordsmanship for once. I was really curious when I saw it.

The Kyrie who could see it showed a slightly excited expression, and Yan, who had no idea of the situation, tilted his head and asked.

"Are you uncomfortable, my prince?"

Kalian smiles a little more explicitly.

Instead of saying it's uncomfortable to be buried on the ground as soon as you leave Cairysis, Calian gives you the strength to look the knights in the eye.

"Jan. Get me something to drink."

"Yes, one moment, please."

An enormous speculation has erupted among the knights. Jan steps back into the Chermill Palace building, and Calian looks at the knights and speaks to himself quietly.

"With a welcome like that, you won't have to think of anything else on your way."

Those things have lights in their eyes, and I don't think we have time for unnecessary worries about Plants.

Alan said, watching the fight with an interesting look on his face.

"There are times when it's such a pity that we can't go together."

After staring at the knights for a while and declaring war, Calian opens his mouth and speaks.

"Where I'm going, please."

The dark smile seemed to have become a habit once again.
