How to Live as the Enemy Prince

< Chapter 11, I didn't mean to (2) >

Elder Ger grins as Calian changes his mind. After seeing it, Kalian feels a little embarrassed. Until then, I continued to be stiff and changed my attitude to the word forest path.

In the beginning, there was nothing to wrap up, as Jer sat down scared to finish what he said. Because of this, Kalian openly spoke to Jer.

"Yes. We do it because of the way of the forest, so you must keep your promise."

"The king of the Humans has no secrets. Don't worry. The Elves respect their promises."

Kalian frowns.

It was not because he said he would keep his promise, but because he had been very irritated by the title he kept on saying.

"Now that you've told me your name, don't call me that anymore."

Jer nods, smiling without saying anything else.

Callian asks for Jer.

"The missing elves. Anything I should know?"

"It's all men's elves from their early 20s to their mid-20s."

"Can they fight?"

"Not much against your knights, but somewhat."

After hearing the story, Kalian seems to not understand a bit. It's because no Elf who knows how to fight has come to look for Asia, who has been missing for a long time.

"Then why didn't you find Sia?"

"Luca saw what you're protecting."

"Don't you trust people too much? You said it was a son."

Jer points his finger at his face and replies.

"I believed him because he wasn't afraid of his face."

When I first met him, I thought of the face of Asia who was terrified for a moment, but Jer continued.

"And all the young elves in this town are my sons and daughters."

Callian hears that and realizes that there was a misunderstanding. The word "son" did not mean that he was his biological son. Kalian nodded his head as he understood it enough as "my little Territory."

"Then what did that elf Luca say she was doing?"

Jer suddenly shakes his head and sighs deeply.

"I would have gone out to make money. I've been to Human Village once, and I've been seduced, and I've already run out of town several times to make money. But I've never come back like this."

Kalian is missing the reason why you sold the sculpture and stole something that looked expensive. I mean, isn't Luca the real culprit that got Callian involved in the Lat case? Kalian tells Ger the truth with a slight grudge.

"Did you know that the elf, Lucara, stole human goods?"

Then Jer's face changed very severely.

Fair enough. When I first found out that the Elves had stolen something, Calian was a little surprised.

"If you come, educate me properly. My insides were pretty rowdy with that Elf stuff I stole."

"I see."

"It's not uncommon for an elf to sell a sculpture anyway. We'll start looking for him tomorrow."

Then Jer raised his finger to the right and to the left, respectively.

"Once there are two cities on either side of the forest. It's a city called Nerica and Sting, and it's a little better if you start there."

Khalian nods, remembering the names of the two places. Ger thanked you for your help and asked you to send another elf to prepare a place for the party to stay and dinner.

The dinner the Elves gave me was not bad.

I was worried that it wasn't just eating raw grass, but it wasn't at all. I was eating delicious orange jam on a sour, dirty black bread unique to rye, and it suddenly felt strange.

It was because of a conversation topic that began to be heard around Kalian.

Things that had happened in Latran recently have been on the agenda among the knights. It was something I didn't want to think about, but Kalian couldn't help but overhear.

However, the horse flowed in a slightly strange direction.

'How can I shatter the sword?'

The debate about it began as if to listen to Khalian.

"You must have stopped the grenade."

"There were no scorch marks on the sword. Besides, it didn't go off. You saw it cut clean."

It's getting louder. Perhaps he wanted Calian to explain it to him himself. Calian only eats bread pretending he didn't hear it.

The knights looked at Arsen this time because they didn't seem to have a better answer for Kalian.

"What would you do?"

Calian's hand pauses for a moment.

In fact, Callian was curious. The sword that was not broken in the past, no matter how many errors you used, was it not broken at once by Arsen's hand?

Asked, Arsen focused his magic on the knife in his hand instead of answering. Immediately, the knife froze with a white frost, and a long gold coincidence with the sound of 'fine'. Arsen looks at it quietly.

"Of course, you can't freeze and break it this quickly because it's different from how you refine a knife like this. But I'm still thinking about whether it could be destruction in a similar way."

I guess I haven't figured it out yet.

One of the knights burst out with a big smile.

"Breaking swords. If you're willing, you'll get the Sodmaster, too."

Yeah, we got him.

While I can remember the name of the man Kalian just spoke, the eyes of the other knights reach out to him in unison.

"Sod · · · · · · · · · · · · ·?"

Knights of Slayman. Even the word "sodmaster" suggests something about Kalian's broken steel sword.

That's why Kalian ate the bread once more, smiling naturally.

If you meet Slayman, you'll see the error writing right away, whether you know it a few days earlier or not. It was like that.

Fortunately, the knights have been relentlessly following Calian around, never questioning the truth or pleading for a duel. It's because Callian asked me to investigate on his behalf and sent him out into the woods.

That's why the knights first examined the city in plain clothes without seeing Khalian's face. The reason why Kalian didn't do it himself was because he needed to look carefully first.

As soon as I heard Jer's words, Calian thought it was Elven slave trafficking. He was a young, sturdy elf. Hearing Jer's words, he knew how to fight, but he didn't seem to have set sail. He thought he was a target enough.

If it was known that the prince was going to go out and investigate the trafficking of slaves by himself, it would have been obvious that he would hide or run away, so only the knights were sent out.

"There doesn't seem to be any particularly slave trafficking going on around here. Those who seemed to be mercenaries were sometimes seen, but it was difficult to see that they were related to crime."

After completing the investigation, the egg returned to the forest and said:

So the next day, Kalian came out himself. It was only with Kyrie who had not participated in the investigation yet. The knights who have already searched the town can recognize their faces, so they don't go together.

"Which way do you want to go first?"

Kiri asked me after he left Elf Village. He asked Sting, who was on the other side of the forest and where Nerica would go first.

When asked, Khalian recalls what Jan explained. The two places were similar in size and the two city lords were of the same age, so they were very competitive with each other. Then, it was hard to choose which one to go first.

"Let's go somewhere short of a name first."

I didn't have much to worry about.

If you start with the nearest, shortest name, widen your feet and you'll see something. This was the idea.

I drove quietly through the forest for about two hours and arrived at Sting.

Calian straightaway puts on a robe and turns the hood over.

Sting was not a big city. It was significantly different from Latran from the distance.

Still, it was well-organized and there were more people coming and going than I thought. Looking at the colors, it didn't seem very economically difficult.

Since the rumors of the Egyptians didn't seem to have any particular problems, Calian decided to settle for starving ships first. Khalian looks at Kiri and says briefly.

"Meat. I want meat."

Kiri smiles more clearly than usual. Meat is the first thing I've said to you since I've been so serious about it. Khalian pretends not to see it.

"Grab some meat, go to the weapons store, and buy yourself a decent sword. Then let's have a little more tour."

"Why don't you get a better sword?"

"Do you need a better sword?"

"The usual Black Prince won't be able to use it for long. It cannot contain errors."

Kyrie was in a position to learn swords from Khalian.

That's why Calian had to explain to Kiri how he could handle his errors, and Calian, who was not very good at hiding them, eventually shared some of his secrets with her. Of course, Bern and Kiri didn't tell us when and why they died.

"You won't be able to use it when you get back to the palace."

This unlucky Calian raises his finger and looks up at the sky.

"I think the good stuff is going to fall out of there soon."

Kyrie's gaze was toward the sky, but the riddle was hard to understand. Callian moves Raven without speaking any more. It is because I did not feel comfortable saying something like a prophet that the right meteorite would fall at the beginning of the next year.

Anyway, after finding the restaurant and eating a lot of meat, the two of them went out and found the weapons store, and they had to look at each other's faces and smile at what the shop owner said.

"There is no sword."

"No sword. You mean it's sold out?"

"Mercenaries? I think they're young."

The owner looked at Kalian and asked, instead of answering.

Khalian nods slightly, pointing in sequence at Kiri and himself, and gives a rough answer.

"This is the prosecutor and I'm the wizard. Anyway, I need a sword. How hard can it be to get one?"

Then the owner folds his arms and starts thinking about something. It seemed clear that the shape was agitated or not. Khalian, who knows very well what to do at this time, took out two Silver Coins from her arms and gave them to the owner.

The owner who took it was a little more hesitant, and only after he received another silver coin did he look around and say quietly.

"Seems like a lot of mercenaries have been gathering around here for quite some time."

"Without notice?"

The owner nods. Then I opened my mouth with a smaller sound.

"Then two soldiers came by during the day and said I'd bring weapons tonight, so put them all away." "

Kalian frowns slightly.

Somehow, the owner's words continue as the bad feeling grows sharp.

"So if you're a mercenary, go there."

The owner who said that pointed somewhere outside the chin. Where his gaze reached, it was the lord.

Calian's eyes light up slightly.

Two towns of similar size were nearby and were secretly gathering mercenaries, and collecting weapons in the city meant only one.

"· · · · · · · to go to war."

After eating a meal and finding out what the egg couldn't figure out in three days, Calian bows down and scratches his cheek.

"That's right."

I thought I knew where the Elves wanted to make money and had a good fight. He seemed to know better that he had dipped his feet in strange things.

The village of Elves in Hirika Forest lies between the two cities. Of course, the Elven Village would be devastated if there was a fight between the two.

So we can see why Jer sought help from Khalian.

'Prince Cairys, who came to Elf Village, asked me to stop the fight between the two cities.'

Kalian's glabella, hidden under the hood, is deeply frowned.
