How to Live as the Enemy Prince

< Chapter 17. The Step (2) >

Late night, or early morning.

That dark time, whatever it is.

The breeze hovers around the room once, and Plants sits quietly on his bed. It wasn't just Calian who could open his eyes in the wind.

Plants shuts his mouth and looks into the darkness instead of pulling out the sword he left under his pillow. Plants smiles as he sees his brother's red eyes reflected by the moonlight coming through the window, as expected.

"Wizard. You're free."

Plants does not leave the window open. Nevertheless, there was only one reason for Kalian to enter Plants' bedroom. It was because the Cispanian alarm magic had been shut down by someone. There was only Alan Manasil, of course, who could do such a thing to Cairis.

"The teacher said he couldn't do it twice, so he won't come again."

Callian thought about the many teachers who had been mobilized for a moment to meet this extraordinary sibling. And Plants asked briefly.

"Why are you here?"

Instead of answering that, Calian sits on a small couch in the bedroom. He stared at Plants' face without speaking for a while and opened his mouth.

"One question, one suggestion, and Thank you for one thing."

Maybe it was because of the 'thank you' that he never wanted to put in his mouth. It's written just like that on Callian's face. I can't believe the day is coming when I have to thank that guy.

Of course, there was only one thing Calian should be thankful for. It means the work that helped or saved the maid of Kalian.

The maid standing in front of Randel tries to pull something out of her chest without saying anything. Who knows if it's a notebook or a memorize? So nobody knew what would happen if Plants hadn't stood in front of him.

I just didn't want to hear Plants say thanks to a guy like Callian. I had already heard from her maid, Hina.

So Plants immediately shakes his head and replies.

"I don't care about the last one."

In saying this, Kalian said, "Ask a question first."

"Did Brother Randall notice you're working with me?"

"Yes."

Plants answers as if he was waiting, and Calian takes a low breath. I tried to hide my alliance with Plants for as long as I could, but it turned out to be an unexpected thing.

"Why are you so quick to notice?"

I already knew that I had to do it because I was a prince, who said so, but gave his life every day. I haven't had a day's peace of mind since I started living in Cairis, just looking at Kalian right now.

"Response."

"Not really, not really."

Neither one of you gave up the throne would have been harmed by Randall. Therefore, I would not be wary unless I would disclose the two allies and unite the two forces into one.

"Yes. I should be more careful about my actions, anyway."

Khalian nods a second time.

"You don't want to be sick for one more day. I don't think you should come to the founding ceremony in Balkan."

This was a sound associated with 'gratitude,' which was the third purpose, rather than a reason to benefit Kalian. In other words, you helped Hina and gave it to me as a token of your concern for Plants.

It was because if Silica had decided to do something, it would have happened right before Balkan was founded. The vengeance against the Kalian is boiling, so Kalian must have decided to ruin it all at once.

So if Plants is on the founding ceremony in Balkan, he will see Silica in action. Instead, I thought it was better not to just look.

Plants has not responded much.

After a while, he replied with a low voice.

"That's as far as crossing the line goes."

"Are you really going to attend?"

No answer came back. Calian nods softly, not trying to persuade more of those plants.

"I understand."

However, Khalian did not retreat, but added words with the meaning of warnings.

"But don't let anything happen this time."

Then I got up and went back to my room.

Thanks for not saying anything.

* * *

- Thanksgiving.

The emerald hair of silica flows over the beautiful dress of blue light.

The maid's face was stiff as she combed her fine hair. It's because I haven't felt better about broken silica since Calian left a few days ago.

Even if I plant a little, I start screaming.

No, I'm glad you yelled at me. In the meantime, I don't know how many maids have already been handcuffed to Silica and injured by what Silica threw.

"I'll lift my head."

Silica did not answer. I was just making eye contact with myself in the mirror. The maid who looked at him as if she were touching him immediately began to braid Silica's hair.

Suddenly, instead of enduring this day, I thought it would be better to go home and marry the young baron whom my father liked.

Yeah, the baroness isn't bad either.

If you're married, you'll get used to it.

Maybe it's because the idea is too deep.

Immediately, the servant's hand turned in the wrong direction.

- Tsk.

When I was unconscious, there was a small sound, and after that, the servant's face became pale. Pick up the pin to fix the head and touch the head of the silica with your fingertips.

Silica's eyes in the mirror opened toward the maid.

Silica didn't even give me time to apologize.

I got up straight away and turned around and waved my hands vigorously.

- Yikes!

The sound of Silica slapping the servant's cheek sweeps through the bedroom sharply. The maid bending her body knelt on her knees, feeling the pain in the right place. I couldn't think of anything else because I was so afraid of the green eyes that were just staring at me.

- Yikes!

Silica's palm once again slapped the servant's cheek. I haven't said a word.

Soon Silica nodded at the bridegroom who was standing next to her.

The bridegroom knew what that meant, and sent Silica out quickly before she put her hands on the bridegroom again. I leaned down in front of Silica.

"Apologies. I will have you expelled from the palace immediately."

Silica sat down to stare at such a bridegroom with cold eyes. Then another maid approaches and starts brushing her broken hair again.

After a short time of difficulty breathing and having my hair trimmed, Silica opened her mouth.

"Has Raon's Master arrived?"

He went out on Saturday with the First Knight, Karen, and came to see Silica on Sunday alone.

When I was with Karen's Master, I hesitated so much, but then I came back separately and acted like a completely different person. I'll do what I'm told, so I've even asked you to appoint me as the Knight Captain of Karen. Silica, of course, accepted.

The servant chief quickly answered Silica's question.

"Yes, I'm waiting outside."

Silica nods, thinking about something for a moment and asks again.

"Is the wizard who disappeared yet?"

"Yes. It's not visible within the Balkans, and it's not yet identified anywhere."

"Yes."

Finally, Silica stood up.

After that, I suddenly opened my mouth again as I took a step outside.

"Don't let him go. I have a place to use it."

The Maid of Honor looked at Silica with a slightly surprised eye. Silica, who never sees a mistake twice, said this, doubts whether she heard it wrong or not.

But Silica went out without explaining the same thing again.

Hopefully Raon's commander did well, so he brought something to prepare.

* * *

The moment when the palace of Heicia was filled with breathtaking tension.

Similarly, while she was dressed and waiting for her hair to be finished, Callian asked Allan to look over the curtain in the bedroom.

"I heard that you will be giving the Earldom to your master today. Well done."

I didn't mention it officially. It's just that rumors are informal and the harder it is to know where they come from, the faster they spread. It didn't take long for the news to reach Calian.

"It's not that great. The journey of Balkans is more important."

Alan had already proven his worth with that name, rank or no rank. So whether he's Earl today or not, he doesn't care.

"But congratulations, Master."

"I'm glad you're celebrating. I'm worried because it doesn't seem like a generous position. Now that you've officially received your title, I think you'll have more work to do."

"No way."

Calian, who answered carefully, closes his mouth. Somehow, I felt a sense that Alan's worries were not for nothing.

After a short while, Khalian finishes preparing, Jan walks up the curtain that was blocking the bedroom. Then he checks the time and talks to her.

"Prepare a meal right away."

That day, Callian did not go to breakfast.

Alan came by suddenly and decided to have breakfast with him.

"Yes, thank you."

Jan looks down and leaves. Only Khalian and Allen remain in the room. Kalian finally got a good look at Alan, and he smiles without me knowing it.

"You're wearing something you've never seen before. Who said it wasn't great?"

Earl or no Earl, the man who didn't care was sitting all dressed up in luxurious clothes. After the inauguration, I had to wear a robe, meaning I was the commander of the Balkans, so that fancy outfit was definitely for the inauguration.

Even Alan helped Callian get into Plants' room last morning. It was to lead that weary body and show off like that.

Alan says, shy of Calian's smile.

"Don't look at it, Rachel prepared it."

"Fantastic, you look great together."

It was like Rachel, Alan's daughter-in-law, had fitted her new clothes. After wearing the new clothes this morning, Mani must have had some nerve warfare, so Calian imagined it and smiled again.

And that smile continued only until Callian sat across from Alan.

"So."

After sitting down, she opens her mouth and faces Alan, with a playful smile completely disappearing. Callian continued to ask a question that changed his gaze significantly from when he joked with Allen.

"Earl Brissen went to see you."

I'm Allen, who used to come out of nowhere, but if I came on a busy morning like this, I think there must be another reason.

Something like Evan Brissen with a bunch of kids suddenly coming to Le Maine because he didn't know what was going to happen.

Not unlike that, Alan nods with a slight smile.

"That's right. Earlier, Earl Brysen had left the palace and the palace."

"I'll help you catch Silica, so don't let anything happen to the Bricennes this time. I would have said that."

"Yes. I said the same thing you did."

Soon Alan opens his mouth to explain his troubles.

"Perhaps Lord Hertz,"

But that's it.

- Kuang!

An explosion that could never be ignored echoes, and Alan's words do not carry on.

You feel the vibrations of the windows on the terrace shaking together. Callian and Alan get up on their feet and head out onto the terrace.

And then, in the sights, Kalian laughs unnoticed.

"No matter how long I said I wouldn't stay, · · · · · · · ·."

As I heard, and as I felt.

It was an explosion.

It was also an explosion inside the palace of Cairys.

Black smoke rises from the palace of Heicia.

There was a smile in Calian's mouth that was hard to read. Alan, who was standing next to me, was also not so embarrassed.

"Silica's name for me this time is quite spectacular. Should I thank you for this?"

In the past, Silica has been accused of attempting to poison herself. He assassinated an old Khalian with it.

Again, Silica's mindset was no different.

"You're saying that the bomber is trying to drive the prince away."

"Otherwise, There's going to be an explosion in Hessia."

Callian, who answered, whispers in a relaxed voice.

"First he poisoned me, now he's trying to frame me."

I just need to get it.

Now I have to pay it back.
