How To Live In A Different World

Episode 48: The Rare Beast? Part 1

As I read the demon drawings I bought a week ago at the desk in the inn room,

tonnes

Stop reading the drawings and face the door of the room.

"Yes, please, it's open!

I urge anyone outside the door to enter the room.

"Excuse me.

"Hmm, what's wrong?

The person coming in through the door was Kyne.

"Um, today, I need to talk to my brother, or I need a favor..."

Cain has a slightly strange face.

"That's unusual. I didn't know you'd do anything for me."

"What!?... Yeah."

I close the demon drawings I was reading and stand up and put them on the shelf between the walls.

"Why don't you stand up and talk to me? Sit down."

With that said, put a bag of tea, sugar, teapot, and two teacups out of the shelf on the table.

Add the hot water from the pot provided in the room to the tea bottle.

"Hi, go ahead. Put the sugar in yourself."

"Yeah, thanks"

Me and Cain sip tea.

"So, what's the consultation?

"Your brother, are you free now?

"... well, you don't plan on doing anything in particular.

"So why don't you throw a party with us for a second?

"What is it, suddenly?"

"You know, I just have a good quest right now, I'm a little short on headcount."

That said, Cain gives me a copy of the requisition.

There, it said:

◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆

Request:

Cobolt exorcism

Client:

Kalin Village Chief

Adventurer Rank:

E

Request details:

I want you to crusade because an army of Kobolts nested around the village will attack villagers and pedestrians.

Details:

More information at Karin Village

Reward:

12000 Zeny + Required Expenses and more

Special note:

For parties of four or more people only (* guild specified)

◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆

I read the copy sassy.

Karin Village is about ten days walk away.

There is a little anxiety in a place called the Legion, but it is not a particularly difficult quest.

"Isn't this something I don't have to go to?

Tell Cain what you thought frankly.

Kobolt is not such a strong demon.

A man-shaped demon with a dog face, a little smaller and even weaker than a goblin.

The problem is that they are smarter than goblins and often act in groups, to the extent that they make coordinated attacks.

If we destroy each of them successfully, Cain and the others will be fine.

"No, that's the thing, Dan and Michelle are doing another job at my party right now and I can't get my hands off it. That said, I have no idea who's coming after us in the F-rank... please!

"Mm-hmm. Right."

I pretend to think with my gaze on the ceiling.

"... uh, the reward is at 7: 3"

"Thirty percent, not much."

"Chi, no. Seven is brother, we're three.

"Huh!? Do you mind? If you do, you'll get 10% of each of you."

I'm a little surprised by Cain's offer.

"Oh, that's okay. This request, if it's your brother's strength, it would be OK for one person..."

The Cains know I can defeat Buffalo and Big Deal.

Then I can deduce strength of at least C rank.

"Hmm, but you guys don't make a lot of money at 10% of the time, do you?

I frankly bump into questions.

"Eh. This is our first expeditionary quest away from these cities. So, it's a perfectly good level quest, so I want to do it for future achievements. So, I'm the leader.

"Ho, that's an accomplishment.... Yeah, that would be nice. I don't even have something to do right now. I'll come with you."

"True! Okay, yay!

Cain behaves in a heartfelt delight and, when he does, immediately puts out another document.

"Write your brother's autograph to me! That way, if we put this out to the guild later, we'll be part of a temporary party.

I read the contents of the paperwork exactly once, because I was there last time.

I can't think of deceiving you because you're Cain, but it's important to queer these things, and that's why I learned to read and write.

The paperwork is just for attending a party with Cain as its leader, and there are no particular problems.

By the way, when submitting these documents, it was mandatory that the person who signed must be present after the last incident.

"So, when are we leaving?

"As soon as your brother's ready, he's a GO."

"Okay. Then we'll do it the day after tomorrow. I'll be ready in one day tomorrow.

"Thanks. Then come to the guild the morning after tomorrow. And I'll prepare the moving carriage and the food on the road."

"Traveling in a carriage.... Okay."

Cain left her room in a very good mood because she negotiated well with me.

(Will you be ready?)

I started preparing for the Kobolt Crusade Quest.

◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆

And it was the day of departure.

As soon as I walked into the guild hall with my stuff, the Cains picked me up.

The members I go with are:

Shield Cain Men, 14 years old, LV6 Rank F Leader.

Bow Mooie Men, 14, LV6, Rank F.

Bow Cue Female Dog Tribe Age 13 LV6 Rank F

Everyone taught me how to read and write.

"Brother, perhaps, you have a lot of luggage. What's in there?

Cain looks at my luggage and puts his neck around it.

"Yeah, kind of. A lot!"

I answer appropriately.

"So, I want to get my stuff in the carriage, where?

"If it's a carriage, it's parked behind the guild."

Cui answers my question.

"Okay. All right, then, let's sign up and get out of here."

"Okay."

When Cain answered, we headed to the Alliance Counter to register and set off for Karin Village.

Those on the road took turns with the three Cains.

I have a license, but I don't know how to move a carriage, so Cain told me that after about three days, I could maneuver the carriage by myself.

Pacca, Pacca, Pacca.

It's been nine days since I left Bales.

Soon, we will arrive in the village of Karin.

On the road, along the streets, I just ran into goblins a few times and had no particular problems.

Horses continue along the streets in rhythm.

Hi, Hean.

When suddenly the horse hissed, the carriage pulled over, and we hit more and more inside and fell.

Then, Push, Push and one arrow after another pierce the tent of the mole carriage.

"Holy shit, it's a Kobolt raid!? Everybody get ready for battle.

Cain, who was your man, yelled out loud at the three of us in the carriage, and we jumped out of the carriage with each weapon.
