How To Live In A Different World

Lesson 50: The Rare Beast? Part 3

"It's easy to call him Pannam, the village chief. Please, please, don't be too spacious, just relax."

The village chief is pretty much gone, but he welcomed us in a casual way.

"Grandpa Dan, a lot. And then I'll do it. Go back. Yeah."

That said, the grandfather who guided me out of the village chief's house, though he still didn't have enough expression to talk about.

"Thank you for taking the Kobolt crusade this time."

The village chief started saying that to me.

"Oops, excuse me. The leader of this party is this guy, so nice to meet you there!

Since this quest is also a track record for Cain and the others, I thought it would be better to clarify my position.

The village chief, uh, compares Cain to me with a face that's obviously a little okay? Speak to Cain with the expression.

"... that made it easier for me to be rude. Give me a break."

"No, that's okay. So, this is the Alliance requisition."

That said, Cain hands the village chief a request that will be given to him when he accepts the quest, and the village chief confirms it.

"I can't help but get to the village, and I'd like to get some rest. Can we get two rooms in the lodging?

"Oh, that doesn't bother me, and I'm sorry. However, there are no inns in this village. No, I don't have an empty room in my house. I'll show you now."

That said, the village chief prepared two fairly large and small rooms for me.

Beds and bedding were then carried into each.

The big room was to be used by me, Cain and Mooie, and the small room was to be used by Cui.

"Well, I'm tired and I'm off today. The crusade begins tomorrow."

"I understand. If you need anything, you can't tell me. If it's something I can prepare, I'll have it ready right away. Of course, we have all the necessary expenses in the village, so don't worry about it. And then when dinner's ready, I'll be shouting."

"Okay. Thank you very much."

When Cain answered that, the village chief left the room.

"Nevertheless, it's quite rural. It's more than my country village. I don't think there's a single inn."

Mooie looks out the window and speaks to herself emotionally.

Looking in the room, it's pretty elegant and nothing.

All I have is a cot and a chair at the table but only four legs.

"Well, it's not okay. The other side brings the rent and meals. I can't help but expect it from the countryside."

Cuy replies to Mooie's soliloquy.

Cue is a girl, so she had her bedroom set aside for once, but it looks like she's going to act together until she goes to bed.

"Uh, hey, guys, gather around."

I say that to the three of us and ask them to take their seats.

Then, open the big bag and open the first volume of the Demon Drawings on your desk.

"Brother, you brought that book!

Cain has the look on his face.

"You're right. Whatever helps is knowledge and information. Besides, you guys didn't feel uncomfortable with the morning raid on Kobolt?

"Yeah, then I felt it. You've never seen them act like that before."

When I say that, Mooie speaks frankly.

It is clear that this crusade to Kobolt looks completely different from those who are acting in small numbers on the Bales Plains.

There are individuals like commanders who have followed it faithfully and have been fairly trained to behave undisturbed.

"Hey, look at this page. According to this, thank you. That commander is a superior species called Hycobolt."

The characteristics of the high cobolt were described there.

According to this, Heikovolt has developed intelligence one by one larger than Kobolt, and has the ability to fully master Kobolt and take precise collaborative action.

It is more than twice as strong as a cobolt, and there is a hierarchical order between the high cobolts.

It says that when there is one high cobolt, there is at least a population of 100 units.

(Cockroaches!)

I put in a silent scratch on my own.

"Unfortunately, according to this book, we need to deal with at least a hundred Kobolts."

"Is that true? Are you okay with this book? I don't think Kobolt can act like that."

Cain looks at me with skepticism.

"Hmm, well, that's indescribable. However, from the experience and knowledge of the demons I fought for, I think this book is pretty credible. It is not good to believe blindly but it will be important to have quite a mindset"

I say quite a few things.

However, at the bottom of my mind, I don't have the slightest suspicion.

Cobolt has always fought in the Bales Plains, because he knew he was retarded and incompetent when he remembered that time.

It acts in a group of about five, and that's the only level where you can defeat them with one hand at your leisure.

"Well, how about we do a recon tomorrow? Then you can think of a way to deal with it."

Cui suggested to the three of us, and we all agreed with that opinion.

After that, the meeting was interrupted because the village chief's son had come to state that dinner was ready.

◇◆◇◆◇◆◇

"Go ahead, only the crude ones are allowed, but you can't have them."

The table was served with chicken dishes and vegetable salad with boiled bean soup for a number of people.

"Yeah, it's delicious."

I greet the village chief once and for all.

Cain and Mooie are carelessly flattering their gutsy dishes, regardless of that.

(... you guys, eat some more classy!)

I glanced at them for a moment and smiled bitterly at the village chief again.

However, I only ate Cui elegantly.

"Um, Mayor, the Kobolts attacked us just before we got here. Naturally, I repelled you, but it looks like there's a high cobolt inside. Do you want to give me any information?

"Heikovolt?... Could he be a little bigger than the others? Oh, yeah?"

"Yeah, that's right."

"Yeah, then it's easy to get information. As far as I know, five in all. There's about 20 cobolts underneath each of them."

After all, there seems to be no doubt about what is written in the drawings.

"Do you have any other information? It could be a little something, so..."

"Well, I'm sorry this isn't clear, but it's... it's a high cobolt, and I saw something bigger than that."

"Eh, is it the bigger type than a high cobolt?

"Yeah, I hear one of the hunters just looked at it from a distance in the woods. So I'm sorry, but the size was one size larger than the Heikovolt. Well, he's the only one who saw it."

"... is that so?"

I think with a slightly strange face.

However, the three cains quietly ate their dishes in a way that did not involve me.
