Why is it so weak?

Why did the divine power obtained from slaying Dark Monarch Glazest turn out to be much less than expected?

Is it because Glazest’s strength is grossly exaggerated?

Or did I not finish him off properly?

In Duncan’s estimation, after such an arduous effort of mobilizing the power of the Bright Water Realm goddess alliance to slay the Dark Monarch, it should have been at least equivalent to killing a Divine Spirit with weak divine power. But in reality, the divine power Duncan obtained was only equivalent to half of that, just slightly stronger than a Divine Spirit with weak divine power.

Although the Dark Monarch is the weakest among the Three Giants of the Abyss, it shouldn’t be this far off!

"What’s going on?"

"Where did the Dark Monarch’s divine power go?"

"Are there too many offspring?"

"Did the divine power get distributed as well?"

If Divine Spirits or those with divine-like power reproduce, they can inject a part of their divinity into their offspring. The most typical example is Baal, the Slaughter God, who reproduced chaotically, leading his Slaughter Divine Sons to possess great power. The Dark Monarch also likes chaos, but by his nature, he shouldn’t be willing to inject divine power.

Duncan instantly thought of a name: Evil Iwuz, the half-Purgatory son of Dark Monarch Glazest and Witch King Egger Vulfu.

Following the successful rescue of Wealth Goddess Woking, the allied forces of churches on the battlefield also began to gradually retreat, with Duncan holding the head of Dark Monarch Glazest, standing atop an Ivory Tower, his cold gaze overlooking the demon army before him. Thousands upon thousands of demons shivered under his gaze, not a single one daring to step forward to challenge him.

Though it doesn’t compare to Di Maoge Gen’s shriek that deterred countless demons, annihilating twelve demon lords in an instant, Duncan’s accomplishments today rank among the top few in the Bottomless Abyss.

In Duncan’s slightly surprised gaze, a prompt appeared:

But Duncan felt somewhat dismissive, for it’s not his own power, not his own Divine Format, ultimately still belonging to the Abyssal Will.

A typical example is Dark Monarch Glazest, who despite the Bottomless Abyss’s fame among various lower planes, has a challenge level around only 22 at his incarnation, and his true form barely reaches challenge level 32.

Without the Abyssal Will’s support, he is nothing.

The Dark Monarch was confident, believing that should the gods intervene, the Abyssal Will would undoubtedly become frenzied, but he never anticipated Duncan seizing the laws of the demon domain; devoid of the Abyssal Will’s status support, he was merely one of the more formidable demon lords of the Era of Chaos.

Before the birth of the Bottomless Abyss, back in the age of ancient Baal Nalos, such beings were countless, either slaughtered by the Obiris demons who transformed the entire plane into the Bottomless Abyss, a realm abundant with divine-like power.

At the end of the Age of Dragons, human souls emerged, and the Obiris demons, wanting to create slaves, incubated using human souls, spawning enchanting demons from desire, birthing enticing demons from envy, nurturing Wachilas demons from sloth, and so forth.

Thus began the era of the third-generation reign of Tanari demons.]

"As long as the Abyssal Will’s backlash isn’t triggered, Meikanshute might truly have a chance to backstab and take him down."

The allied forces from numerous churches were already gathering the wounded and retreating, with Duncan standing at the most luxurious and decadent Ivory Tower of the Silver Palace. As the palace crumbled from the battle’s aftermath, peculiar and depraved things appeared, along with many wandering beautifully ethereal undead ghost souls.

This Ivory Tower is called the Swan Domain.

It was home to Glazest’s former concubines and consorts, including enchanting demons, male enchanting demons, human-bodied lions, and others.

Recently, a mesmerizing demon spy of Meikanshute successfully infiltrated the Swan Domain; upon discovery, Glazest killed all his lovers here and sealed the tower.

Since then, the spirits of these deceased lovers have wandered within the Swan Domain, longing for the day to receive the Dark Monarch’s favor once more.

Upon the Dark Monarch’s death, the spirits there also began to dissipate.

Meanwhile.

An enchanting figure stealthily approached nearby, capturing a mesmerizing demon’s soul like a most cherished daughter, Meikanshute infused its soul into a ruby, then carefully kept it.

This was one of her most beloved daughters, slain by the Dark Monarch, now her soul finally returned to her clasp.
