Chapter 1106 - 63: Lord of the Silver Palace
Azgregate, Silver Palace.
This once resplendent Silver Palace is now in ruins. When the Dark Monarch Glazest met his untimely death, many of his concubines fled the Silver Palace. Later, Asas briefly occupied the outer Ivory Tower of the palace, but for reasons unknown, Asas failed to defeat the Demon Lord Veen, who, as the chief diplomat of the late Dark Monarch Glazest, easily seized control of the Silver Palace.
At present, in the city of Zerata, tens of thousands of the demon army have surrounded this dilapidated and collapsed Silver Palace.
Even though the Silver Palace is in disrepair, nearly half of the sixty-six Ivory Towers have survived, and it’s impossible for the Enchanting Demon Queen Meikanshute to demolish so many Ivory Towers all at once.
Thus, the majestic high walls and magic force field of the Silver Palace remain intimidating, so much so that even the demon legion with strength tenfold cannot easily breach it.
—Trasia—Chromawatcher (Demon Lord) (Seven-star Silver-gray).
Trasia was now donned in a luxurious deep red magic robe, her expression was quite smug. After Duncan slew Asas, Trasia swiftly gained the status of a demon lord, although her promotion was not as rapid as Asas’s, she leaped from a five-star ranking to seven stars in one go.
After Asas’s death, part of the Power of Darkness was absorbed by Duncan, and what she could obtain was very little, merely a regular demon lord’s elevation.
"Bow to me!"
"Veen!"
"You cannot hold Silver Palace."
An arrogant Trasia gazed at the Silver Palace before her, with the vast demon army arrayed behind her, her eyes filled with greed and ambition. This was the highest throne of Azgregate, synonymous with the demon monarch, the Silver Palace could satisfy all of her desires and needs. To occupy it meant becoming one of the giants of the Bottomless Abyss.
At least, it seemed so.
At this moment, on the high walls of the Silver Palace, a bizarre silhouette slowly emerged.
—Demon Lord—Veen (Seven-star Gold).
Veen was an independent demon lord.
This cunning and extraordinarily wise demon lord did not succumb to his own thriving ambition but chose to serve the Dark Monarch Glazest, which made him an anomaly among many demons.
He was a humanoid existence with sickly pure white skin, thin and devoid of any hair.
If it weren’t for the mind ooze continuously seeping from his body, others would never suspect him to be a demon. But in truth, Veen’s evil and cruelty rivaled that of Glazest, only his ambition was not as great, often willing to remain subjugated to others—there were still many demons with peculiar personalities in the Bottomless Abyss.
As Glazest’s important adviser and chief diplomat, Veen had visited almost all the demon lords’ courts in the Bottomless Abyss but ultimately chose to serve the Dark Monarch, as his understanding of the Bottomless Abyss far surpassed anyone else.
On the Swan Tower, Veen gazed at the distant Trasia, the dark eyes showing no trace of emotion.
Even now, he could not ascertain whether Glazest had truly fallen.
If not, he would guard the Silver Palace until Glazest’s return, at least that’s how it seemed, while if Glazest had indeed perished, he too must find a new pathway for himself.
"Trasia—Chromawatcher."
"A daughter of Glazest and a human Eternal Monk, originally intended as a pawn for capturing the divine power of Wogen."
"Such a person cannot possibly hold the Silver Palace, nor stand firm in the Abyss."
Veen’s dark gaze sought something, but he failed to see that imposing figure. However, he was certain the opponent lurked near the battlefield, and once war broke out, that terrifying figure would instantly rush and breach the Silver Palace.
"Master."
"The Shadow Demon Queen refuses to provide reinforcements."
At this moment, a hazy figure appeared and knelt before Veen: "The Mother of Demons has only dispatched a small squad of six-armed snake-demon guards."
"She also does not wish to get involved in this conflict."
"Furthermore."
"Recently, disturbances seem relentless in Android Linna, a powerful human has slain the Purgatory Minotaur leader of the Minotaur King Baphimet, and has even penetrated deep into Android Linna."
"Some sources indicate the Mother of Demon’s maze has been invaded multiple times."
Upon hearing the report, Veen initially thought of those Aici Celestial Race trapped in Android Linna.
"Could it be after all this time?"
"Someone seeks to rescue those Aici Celestial Race trapped in the Bottomless Abyss?"
This eerie humanoid creature furrowed his brow, his gaze swept past the forefront among Trasia, settling on those Enchanting Mages.
Puppets raised by the Enchanting Demon Queen—Meikanshute.
Such existence, he did not wish to submit.
But the Silver Palace indeed could not be held for much longer, for Trasia had already occupied most of Zerata, and an endless stream of demon legions was on its way. Even if lives must be sacrificed to do so, the magic high walls outside the Silver Palace will soon be filled.
"Alas."
Thinking of this, Veen could not help but sigh lightly.
He was initially one of those who opposed Glazest’s plan to imprison the goddess of wealth, Wogen, which led him temporarily leave the Silver Palace to assist the Blood War Legion in diplomacy across the Ten Thousand Abyss Plain.
Unfortunately, the Dark Monarch refused to heed warnings. He received knowledge about the Divine Spirit from somewhere, most likely from Witch Queen Egger Vulfu, and so the ambitious Glazest eventually chose the divine of Wogen as the target.
