And yet, the moment Qiao Meixia returned, the family had offered her no warmth, only scepticism and hurdles. As her eldest brother, he felt that he had completely and utterly failed her.

"If the school administration dares to refuse your entry, I will make sure they change their decision." Jiang Suhan declared firmly, a cold, unyielding light flashing through his eyes. "No matter what resources it takes, I will make it happen."

Qiao Meixia opened her mouth, initially wanting to tell him that there was absolutely no need to go to such dramatic lengths. Whether this prestigious school accepted her or not honestly made very little difference to her daily life. If she wanted to learn something, the world’s entire digital library was already at her fingertips.

However, when her gaze caught the raw, fierce determination written all over Jiang Suhan’s face, the indifferent words that had reached her lips quietly disappeared. In the end, she simply shrugged mentally and allowed him to think whatever he wanted. It was not worth the effort to argue with an overprotective brother.

"It is already noon. Let’s go have a good lunch together to clear our minds." Jiang Suhan glanced down at his luxury wristwatch before his cold demeanour vanished, replaced by a warm, doting smile.

"Hmm..." Qiao Meixia nodded, lacking any reason to reject a free, high-quality meal.

Jiang Suhan’s smile instantly widened by several margins as Qiao Meixia agreed on having lunch with him.

To anyone watching, it looked as though the brilliant young man had just successfully secured a multi-billion-dollar international business project rather than simply getting a nod from his little sister.

The two of them left the campus together and headed toward one of Hannan City’s most exclusive, famously upscale restaurants, known as a prominent hotspot for the elite.

"Let’s sit in the main dining hall today." Jiang Suhan suggested as the waiter bowed deeply to welcome them.

"Hmm..." Qiao Meixia nodded casually.

She honestly did not care where they sat. To a pragmatic person like her, eating was simply a biological necessity.

Seeing her completely easygoing, unbothered attitude, Jiang Suhan smiled again.

Normally, whenever he visited this high-end establishment for business meetings, he would strictly reserve one of the soundproof, private VIP rooms to avoid unnecessary eyes and interruptions. Today, however, his underlying motives were entirely different.

Today, he wanted everyone to see his biological sister. He intentionally wanted the prominent people within Hannan City’s upper-class circle to gradually become familiar with her face and existence, signalling that she was under his personal protection. After all, this specific restaurant was one of the absolute favourite gathering places for wealthy businessmen, influential old-money families, and prominent socialites.

Unfortunately, Jiang Suhan had completely miscalculated how the status-conscious crowd around them would interpret the situation.

The moment the two of them sat down and began having lunch together, countless curious, sharp gazes quietly drifted across the opulent dining room in their direction. Whispers quickly broke out behind designer fans and expensive wine glasses.

Most of the upper-class patrons recognised Jiang Suhan immediately. He was the unapproachable, golden bachelor and the brilliant heir of the Jiang family’s second branch. However, not a single person in the room recognised the exceedingly beautiful, calm young woman sitting directly across from him.

Since the Jiang family had deliberately hidden the truth and had not yet officially introduced Qiao Meixia to high society, no one connected this plain-clothed girl to the powerful family.

Instead, almost everyone in the dining hall simultaneously reached the exact same scandalous conclusion. The legendary, cold-blooded eldest young master of the Jiang family had finally found himself a secret girlfriend.

Quite a few wealthy heiresses and socialites felt their hearts break on the spot, their eyes burning with intense envy. A few prominent figures wanted to approach Jiang Suhan’s table under the guise of business to subtly ask about the mysterious, mesmerising young woman accompanying him. Unfortunately, looking at Jiang Suhan’s chilling aura and lofty status, not a single person actually possessed the courage to do so.

As a result, everyone could only secretly memorise Qiao Meixia’s distinct, unforgettable appearance while quietly spinning countless wild assumptions and romantic rumours in their minds.

After finishing the exquisite lunch, Jiang Suhan looked across the table at Qiao Meixia with another bright, incredibly eager smile.

"Let’s go shopping next, Qiaoqiao." Jiang Suhan suddenly stated.

"For what?" Qiao Meixia asked, pausing as she wiped her hands with a linen napkin.

"Your new bedroom is already undergoing rapid renovation as we speak." Jiang Suhan explained with endless patience. "Once the structural renovation is finished tomorrow, it will need brand-new, top-tier furniture to fill the space."

"Do I really have to choose everything myself?" Qiao Meixia asked, a slight trace of helplessness entering her tone.

To her, shopping was an exhausting waste of computing power. She would rather sit in front of the computer, coding the code.

"Of course you do. You are the one who is going to live there. You’re the one who’s going to use every single item every single day. Naturally, the entire layout should perfectly match your own preferences, comfort, and taste." Jiang Suhan looked at her as though the answer were the most obvious law of the universe. He paused briefly, his eyes sweeping over her simple attire before adding gently. "Oh... and while we are out, we also absolutely need to buy a completely new wardrobe of designer clothes for you. You need more clothes."

Qiao Meixia looked directly into Jiang Suhan’s eyes. His gaze was completely filled with an unmistakable, childlike anticipation, as though he genuinely, deeply hoped she would enjoy spending time with him.

"...Fine." Qiao Meixia finally nodded in agreement, letting out a soft sigh.
