Chapter 71: Buy The Furniture For Qiao Meixia

Jiang Yanna did not pay a single shred of attention to the elite lesson taking place in front of her. Her mind was completely, suffocatingly occupied with the high-resolution photograph she had just seen on Chen Xiaoqing’s phone. She recognised the opulent background of that restaurant immediately. Maison Dorée.

Jiang Suhan, the usually unapproachable, workaholic heir, had actually cleared his tightly packed schedule for that country girl, driven her there himself, and even sat in the public dining hall to have lunch with her. A burning, toxic wave of jealousy flooded Jiang Yanna’s chest, threatening to choke her.

What troubled her even more deeply, however, was the looming possibility that the prominent socialites in her class might not blindly swallow the explanation she had just fabricated about Qiao Meixia being her long-lost fraternal twin sister. Even though Qiao Meixia’s physical return was a necessary pawn for their family’s secret future plans, Jiang Yanna could not stop a dark sense of profound regret from taking root in her mind. More and more, she felt as though the luxurious, secure pedestal she had worked so desperately to maintain within the Jiang Family was slowly, systematically being chipped away by Qiao Meixia’s mere existence.

Suddenly, a sharp thought flashed through her mind like lightning.

Wait. Wasn’t Qiao Meixia supposed to register at First Hannan School this morning?

If that was the case, then why on earth was she leisurely having luxury lunches outside during school hours instead? She must have skipped it, or worse, failed to even get through the gates.

Her parents absolutely needed to know about this blatant lack of discipline.

Jiang Yanna carefully glanced toward the front of the classroom, where the teacher was currently facing the massive projector screen, deeply engrossed in writing advanced notes for the class. Seeing that the teacher’s attention was entirely elsewhere, she quietly slipped her luxury phone out beneath the hidden edge of the desk. Her manicured fingers flew across the screen, quickly typing a detailed message that explained the restaurant sighting and her own calculated suspicions, sending it directly to her mother.

She wanted her parents to know immediately that Qiao Meixia had failed her very first task and had not completed her school registration.

...

Meanwhile, completely oblivious to the high-school drama, Jiang Suhan and Qiao Meixia were still inside the sprawling luxury shopping mall, carefully selecting high-end furniture for Qiao Meixia’s new bedroom.

Qiao Meixia had already finished choosing what she considered the bare, functional essentials. A sturdy bed. A spacious wardrobe. And a matching minimalist desk and chair set. To her pragmatic mind, having a place to sleep and a place to position a laptop was more than enough to suffice.

However, Jiang Suhan clearly held a radically different opinion on the matter. To him, this sparse selection was nowhere near enough to make up for years of neglect.

After quietly observing Qiao Meixia’s rapid selections, he quickly decoded her subtle personal preferences. His younger sister clearly despised bright, vibrant, or overly feminine colours. Instead, she naturally gravitated toward black, charcoal grey, deep navy blue, and other calm, muted, and understated shades.

Keeping that exact aesthetic in mind, Jiang Suhan stepped up and personally curated several additional pieces of premium furniture, ambient smart lighting, and sleek decorative items that perfectly matched her low-profile taste.

Qiao Meixia looked at the additional items he had gathered with a flicker of genuine surprise in her dark eyes. Every single piece he had chosen suited her internal preferences remarkably well.

Jiang Suhan then pulled out his phone and took several precise photographs of the furniture they had compiled. Qiao Meixia watched his movements curiously, not quite understanding what the high-powered CEO intended to do with a bunch of furniture snapshots.

Only a few moments later did Jiang Suhan proudly reveal the answer, showing his phone to Qiao Meixia.

"Qiaoqiao, look at this." Jiang Suhan held up his phone screen excitedly, tapping a rendering application. "What do you think of this interior blueprint? Do you like it?"

Qiao Meixia glanced at the high-definition screen. A faint look of real surprise finally cracked her usually expressionless, deadpan face.

Displayed on the screen was a fully realised, three-dimensional bedroom design generated in real-time using the exact furniture pieces they had just walked around and selected. Everything had been arranged into a flawless, harmonious layout. The colour gradients, the spatial placement of each heavy piece, and even the warm accent lighting all perfectly aligned with her psychological need for a secure, organised space. It looked surprisingly professional.

She had genuinely not expected a corporate like Jiang Suhan to possess such an intuitive talent for interior architectural design.

"Hmm... Not bad." Qiao Meixia nodded honestly, giving credit where it was due.

Receiving even that brief, lukewarm compliment from his stoic sister made Jiang Suhan smile instantly from ear to ear, looking completely radiant.

"I am incredibly glad you like it!" Jiang Suhan said happily, his voice bouncing off the showroom walls. "Then it is official. We will use this exact design blueprint for your new room."

"Sure." Qiao Meixia nodded smoothly. "I really did not expect you to have such a talent."

Jiang Suhan blinked, temporarily stunned. That was easily the longest sentence Qiao Meixia had spoken directly to him since the moment they had first met.

"Well..." Jiang Suhan chuckled a bit awkwardly, scratching his neck. "When I am having free time, it was just one of my private hobbies."

"I see." Qiao Meixia nodded, her evaluation of him clicking up a notch.

Without wasting any more valuable time, Jiang Suhan turned around and informed the hovering floor manager that they would be purchasing every single item they had selected in the showroom.
