I Am Diagnosed as a Medical Titan

"Sorry, Old Jiang, something urgent came up. I have to head out for today."

Jiang He didn’t ask any further questions. "Alright," he said. "I’ll catch you up on what you missed when we get back to the dorm."

"Okay, thanks a lot!"

Chen Hao grabbed his backpack and bolted out of the coffee shop as if he were escaping.

Watching Chen Hao’s panicked retreat, Jiang He frowned slightly.

’Haozi... he hasn’t gotten into some kind of trouble, has he?’

He wasn’t worried if Li Zijian ran into trouble; it was probably just relationship drama, and he likely wouldn’t be able to help even if he asked.

But Chen Hao was different.

Chen Hao had actually matured a lot lately.

Especially after he successfully diagnosed that Tension Pneumothorax in the ER, he had become much more composed.

Whatever made him look like that was definitely no small matter.

He pulled his phone back out. The message in his QQ chat window was from Shen Yu.

Shen Yu: [Chen Hao, I’m at Southern Medical University! I know Dr. Jiang’s birthday is at the end of the month, so I wanted to come celebrate with him. Hehe. Can you come out and meet me? The kind of thing you definitely don’t tell Dr. Jiang, um... Juanzi said you’d help me! Right?!]

Chen Hao knew Jiang He’s birthday was at the end of the month.

But he never imagined that this "sister-in-law" from all the way in the Capital City would actually cross half of China and drop in on Yangcheng!

’Juanzi said I’d help? Of course I have to help!’

Not just for Old Jiang’s lifelong happiness, but also to make a good impression on Xu Juan.

Chen Hao quickly replied: [Where are you now? Send me your coordinates! Don’t you worry one bit about Old Jiang, my lips are sealed!]

After sending the message, Chen Hao had second thoughts.

An operation this big... he was afraid he couldn’t handle it alone.

So he added another message: [I’ll call our other two roommates, Zijian and Wang Bo! We can all brainstorm how to pull off something huge for Old Jiang!]

In a pleasant, laid-back cafe.

Chen Hao, Li Zijian, and Wang Bo pushed the door open and entered.

They spotted their "sister-in-law" at a glance.

It was hard not to... she was just too stunning.

Shen Yu was wearing a beige trench coat, quietly reading a book.

She seemed to notice the movement at the door.

She looked up, revealing a refined and elegant face and bright, dazzling eyes beneath her high ponytail.

Shen Yu closed her book and waved them over.

The three of them exchanged a look before walking over to her table.

They stopped in perfect sync and bowed in unison.

"Hello, Sister-in-law!"

The people around them shot them sideways glances.

Shen Yu waved her hands dismissively. "Oh, no... don’t call me that. Dr. Jiang and I aren’t even officially dating yet..."

"It’s only a matter of time!"

Chen Hao sat down and smoothly shifted into flattery mode. "Sister-in-law, I’m Chen Hao. Old Jiang never stops talking about you in the dorm. It’s great to finally meet you in person. You’re even more beautiful than you look in videos!"

Wang Bo quickly followed suit. "I’m Wang Bo. Sister-in-law, that guy Old Jiang must have saved the Milky Way Galaxy in a past life to have met you."

Li Zijian, however, had a somewhat melancholic look on his face.

He looked at Shen Yu and sighed. "I’m Li Zijian. Sister-in-law, to be honest, I really envy Old Jiang... You were willing to come all the way from the Capital City to Southern China just to celebrate his birthday. I don’t think I’ll ever experience something like that in my lifetime."

Faced with their barrage of compliments and emotional remarks, Shen Yu wasn’t the least bit coy or awkward.

She accepted their goodwill with a poised and graceful smile.

Then she nodded, her voice gentle. "Thank you. I’m sure Dr. Jiang causes you all plenty of trouble in the dorm, so thank you for looking after him. And thank you for taking the trouble to come out today."

Chen Hao sat across from her, a wide grin on his face, but inwardly he was a little surprised.

To be honest, this was completely different from what he had imagined.

...her aura, her way of speaking, none of it fit the "clumsy little kid" label at all.

She was poised and graceful, intelligent and elegant, with a clear, gentle look in her eyes.

Chen Hao was secretly dumbfounded:

’Old Jiang’s taste in women... is on another level.’

"Sister-in-law, I’ll get straight to the point," Chen Hao said, collecting his thoughts. "October 30th is the final round of the South China Region Clinical Skills Competition, and it’s also Old Jiang’s birthday. What’s your plan?"

Shen Yu said, "What do you guys think? I don’t really understand the specifics of a medical competition. I just want it to be as much of a surprise as possible."

Wang Bo was the first to speak up. "I think the most important thing on the 30th has to be the competition. This is a really high-stakes competition. Even though Old Jiang is strong, this is about his future. We have to let Jiang He finish the competition peacefully. Only then will he be in the right headspace to celebrate his birthday. We absolutely can’t do anything to mess with his mindset before the competition."

But Li Zijian had a different opinion. "I don’t see it that way. If Old Jiang knows beforehand that Teacher Shen flew all the way to Southern China just to watch him from the audience, wouldn’t that motivate him to go on a total rampage and dominate the whole competition? I think we should tell him ahead of time, let him know his girlfriend is watching."
