Unstoppable! Invincible! Not to be crossed!

But even if they groveled on the ground, begging to appease the wrath of the owner of the dragon wings, Gauss, currently in flight, would not waver in the slightest. He couldn’t possibly change his attitude toward the monsters just because they showed submission to his newly revealed dragon traits. Enemies were enemies. The only good enemy was a dead one. Whose hands were responsible for the humans lying dead in pools of blood? Was it not these very monsters now trembling in fear? The war and hatred between humanity and monsters could no longer be stopped. It would only snowball until it set the entire world ablaze.

Not long after, the forest fell silent once more.

The surviving Warriors huddled defensively, cautiously looking around. Staring at the eerie, unfamiliar woodland, they carefully gathered around their vice-captain. At that moment, the vice-captain and a few other soldiers had just pushed aside the massive granite boulder that had crushed their superior. Upon confirming that his captain had no vital signs, a sudden rush of mixed emotions washed over him. His relationship with the captain hadn’t been particularly close, but he still felt a faint wave of sorrow. Had it not been for that mysterious golden light just moments ago, he would have been turned into meat paste alongside his captain. He could only marvel at the unpredictability of life.

BOOM!

While the group surrounded their fallen captain, a hurricane-like gust of wind pressure suddenly pressed down from above. Some jittery Archers immediately raised their bows and crossbows to take aim, only to be harshly reprimanded by the vice-captain as he jerked his head upward.

"Lower your weapons!"

Through the canopy parted by the wind pressure, a young man with dragon wings on his back slowly descended from the sky, bathed in sunlight, and landed before them. Only then did a look of realization dawn on the vice-captain’s face. It was him! Though only a vice-captain of an ordinary patrol squad, he still recognized this powerhouse who had recently made a name for himself across the entire frontline.

"I came as soon as I saw the flare. I apologize for arriving late," Gauss said apologetically, glancing at the mangled body in the middle of the group.

"Lord Gauss! Thank you for coming to our aid!" The vice-captain immediately bowed respectfully along with his surviving squad members.

To be honest, Gauss’s arrival speed wasn’t slow at all; in fact, it was unbelievably fast. That was exactly why, upon his Detection of the mysterious golden light that saved him, he hadn’t initially associated it with rescue forces summoned by the flare. However, he couldn’t help but wonder about those Giant Dragon-like wings. He gulped. He was curious but didn’t dare ask—or even take a second glance. It was as if he feared learning a secret he wasn’t supposed to know.

Suddenly, as he shifted his gaze upward, the vice-captain spotted a massive dark gray boulder hurtling straight toward Gauss and his squad.

"W-Watch out!" he warned in terror, his face twisting in panic. These meteor-like boulders had crushed many of his comrades just before the battle broke out, instantly triggering a flood of horrific memories.

Gauss didn’t look back. His Perception abilities had allowed him to lock onto the high-speed falling boulder long before the warning. He had at least a dozen ways to deal with this plunging rock. Whether it was commanding Bigby’s Hand to block its trajectory, using a Dragon Roar Missile to shatter it before impact, or materializing the Bow of Metera and using Water Manipulation to condense Water Arrows to shoot it down...

He pondered his options for a brief moment. He thought, "Let’s give this a try." It just so happened that he also wanted to experiment with more techniques related to his draconic transformation.

COUGH!

The mana body, carrying the bloodline energy of the Dragon King’s lineage, gathered at Gauss’s neck. Under everyone’s watchful eyes, his neck quickly swelled in size. Layers of fine Platinum scales then sprouted across his pale skin, reflecting a dazzling brilliance under the sunlight.

Gauss felt a slight itch in his throat. A powerful, scorching energy was gathering deep within. It was so violent that, since this was his first time channeling it, the surface of the scales on his neck continuously writhed and shifted. The scales on either side flared slightly, jetting out streams of white vapor. Fortunately, despite this being his first transformation, knowing how to wield this power had already become instinctual.

Flapping his wings, he took to the air, then spun around and unleashed a roar toward the plummeting boulder.

ROAR!!!

A dragon’s roar echoed through the mountains and forests. The soundwaves acted like a tangible shockwave, rippling outward with Gauss at the epicenter. The resulting gale bent the branches and leaves of nearby trees to the breaking point. As he roared, a beam of energy erupted through his now glass-like throat!

BOOM!

A highly concentrated pillar of light instantly streaked across the sky, piercing straight through the multi-meter-thick granite.

KABOOM!

In an instant, the massive rock exploded high in the distance. Even after punching through the boulder, the beam of breath did not stop. The violent, destructive energy shot straight up into the heavens, ultimately piercing the pristine white clouds overhead to reveal the azure dome hidden behind them.
