Chapter 95: Ch 95- Anomaly
Mo Yuan disappeared from his position and quickly arrived near the mountain where the Earthshaking Bear had crashed earlier.
However, the massive beast was nowhere to be seen.
The entire area around the mountain had been destroyed, broken trees and rocks were scattered everywhere and the ground was also covered in cracks.
Mo Yuan frowned.
’I need to finish this quickly.’
This place was already close to the edge of the outer area. If he went any deeper, he would enter the inner area, where much stronger beasts lived.
He didn’t want to attract unnecessary trouble.
Mo Yuan activated his senses and carefully searched the surroundings.
Soon, he noticed something.
A massive blood trail stretched across the ground.
’Heh, you think you can hide from me?’
A smirk appeared on Mo Yuan’s face.
He followed the blood trail.
The farther he went, the more blood he found. The Earthshaking Bear was clearly in terrible condition and with such a serious injury, it couldn’t have gone very far.
After around two minutes, Mo Yuan stopped.
In front of him was a large cave hidden between several huge rocks.
The blood trail went directly inside.
’So that’s where you ran.’
Mo Yuan didn’t immediately enter. He stood outside for a moment and carefully checked the surroundings.
Nothing seemed unusual but he still remained cautious.
His previous encounter with the Gorath had given him PTSD.
Mo Yuan slowly entered the cave.
The cave was dark and after walking deeper inside, he finally saw the Earthshaking Bear.
The enormous beast was lying on the ground.
Its breathing was extremely weak and the massive gash on its chest was still bleeding. The saber wound had almost split its body open.
Mo Yuan stopped several meters away.
’Is it unconscious?’
He narrowed his eyes.
The bear looked completely exhausted, almost as if it had already lost consciousness but Mo Yuan didn’t lower his guard.
’No.’
’There’s no way I’m making the same mistake twice.’
He raised his hand.
Illusion Talent!
His soul power spread silently through the cave and entered the bear’s mind.
The Earthshaking Bear’s body suddenly trembled. Its consciousness, which was already on the verge of disappearing, was instantly pulled into darkness.
The entire world around it became black.
’Human...’
The bear tried to move but its body was too badly injured and it could barely breathe, let alone fight.
Still, the beast wasn’t willing to die, a terrifying aura suddenly erupted from its body. Its muscles tightened and its remaining strength began gathering.
’It’s trying to activate Berserk Talent!’
Mo Yuan’s expression changed slightly.
He didn’t give it any chance.
"You’re not getting another opportunity."
Whoosh!
His figure disappeared.
Speed Talent!
Strength Talent!
Boundless Saber Art!
All three abilities were activated at the same time.
Mo Yuan appeared beside the Earthshaking Bear and swung his saber toward its head.
The bear tried to raise its arm but its movements were far too slow.
Slash!
The saber struck its head and blood splashed across the cave.
Mo Yuan didn’t stop, he continued attacking at terrifying speed.
Slash!
Slash!
Slash!
Each strike landed precisely on the bear’s head.
The injured beast could no longer resist and after dozens of strikes, Mo Yuan finally stopped.
The Earthshaking Bear’s massive head rolled across the ground.
Its body collapsed completely.
Mo Yuan stood beside the corpse and slowly lowered his saber.
’Finally.’
He let out a breath.
This battle had been much more dangerous than he had expected.
The Gale Hawk’s speed had nearly killed him, while the Earthshaking Bear’s defense had also forced him to use much more strength than expected but the rewards were worth it.
Mo Yuan stored the Earthshaking Bear’s enormous body inside his storage space.
Then he turned around and left the cave. He soon returned to the battlefield where the Gale Hawk’s corpse was lying.
The massive beast had fallen into the forest, leaving a huge impact crater behind.
Mo Yuan walked over and stored its body as well.
Looking at the two corpses inside his storage space, a grin slowly appeared on his face.
"Time to look for slimes."
With his current speed, searching the outer area would not take too long.
His figure disappeared from his position in an instant.
However, Mo Yuan had no idea that someone had been watching him from the moment he arrived.
Far away from his location, nearly a thousand kilometers away, above a vast stretch of clouds, a young girl stood casually in the air.
She had long blonde hair, bright blue eyes and a wolf cut with bangs falling naturally over her forehead. She wore an oversized white T-shirt with red pajamas, making her appearance look completely out of place in the dangerous Cang Wilderness.
A small white cat was sitting comfortably on her shoulder.
Neither of them used any visible flying equipment.
They were simply standing in the air.
The girl’s blue eyes were currently looking toward the direction where Mo Yuan had disappeared.
A faint look of interest appeared in her eyes.
"To think a trash planet like this could give birth to someone like him." The girl smiled slightly. "Life really is full of surprises."
The white cat on her shoulder narrowed its eyes and looked in the same direction.
"Compared to the people on this planet, that boy is indeed quite special."
The cat paused for a moment before continuing.
"He has a powerful speed talent, strength talent and some kind of soul-related illusion talent. His saber talent is also quite good. More importantly, I could sense traces of the Saber Dao around him."
The girl’s eyebrows rose slightly.
"Saber Dao?"
"Yes." The white cat nodded. "And there seems to be another kind of Dao surrounding him. I couldn’t clearly identify it from this distance but his talent is definitely not ordinary."
The girl became slightly more interested.
"Anomaly?"
"Definitely an anomaly."
The cat grinned.
"Finding someone like him on a small planet like this is almost impossible."
The girl stared silently in Mo Yuan’s direction for a few seconds.
She had noticed something else.
There was something strange about Mo Yuan.
"What a strange guy."
She smiled.
"Should we go meet him?"
The cat suddenly turned its head toward her and a mischievous smile appeared on its furry face.
"Actually, you should meet him."
The girl glanced at it.
"Why?"
"He looks around the same age as you."
The cat’s grin became wider.
"Maybe it’s about time you find yourself a boyfriend."
The girl’s expression immediately turned cold.
"Heh."
She lightly flicked the cat’s head.
"Stop talking nonsense."
The cat rubbed its head and chuckled.
"Then what are you going to do?"
The girl looked toward the distant wilderness again.
"Nothing for now."
Her expression became serious.
"We didn’t come here to find someone. Our mission is more important."
The cat also became quiet.
The girl looked toward the distant Forbidden Zone.
"Let’s wait for a few days. I want to check whether there is a portal nearby."
"If we find one, we will investigate it first."
The cat nodded.
"Understood."
The two once again looked toward the wilderness.
Neither Mo Yuan nor anyone from Cang Lan Base knew about their existence.
If Mo Yuan were here and could see through their cultivation, his eyes would probably pop out of his head.
The girl who looked almost the same age as him was was a terrifying Monarch Realm cultivator.
