Chapter 56: Ch 56- The Trial (1) [Bonus]
Within a few minutes, Mo Yuan arrived at the Academy trial grounds where he had found the mysterious cave.
He stood outside the entrance for a moment and looked around carefully before stepping inside. The cave was exactly the same as he remembered. There were no signs that anyone had entered recently, and everything was covered in the same layer of dust.
"I think no one has even visited this cave since the last time I was here."
Mo Yuan walked deeper into the cave while looking around.
"Hello? Is there anyone here? Remember, I said I would come back."
His voice echoed through the cave.
"Hello?"
Still, there was no response.
Mo Yuan frowned.
"Strange. I’m 100% sure I heard someone calling me last time."
He didn’t stay there for long. Since there was nothing else to investigate, he continued walking toward the end of the cave.
Soon, he reached the familiar stone wall. Just like before, there was nothing special about it. It looked like an ordinary stone wall.
Mo Yuan stared at it for a few seconds before a smile appeared on his face.
"Time to see if I can destroy this wall with my current strength."
During his previous visit, he had tried to break through the wall but failed because his strength wasn’t enough but things were different now.
His strength had increased tremendously since then.
Mo Yuan pulled out his saber and took a deep breath. Then he activated his Peak Grade Strength Talent, causing his strength to rise rapidly. At the same time, he circulated his Primordial Qi throughout his body.
His aura instantly became much stronger.
"Phantom Slash!"
He swung his saber toward the stone wall with all his strength.
The saber cut through the air, producing a sharp sound but just as the blade was about to hit the stone wall, something strange happened.
Mo Yuan’s expression suddenly changed.
Instead of hitting the wall, he felt his entire body being pulled forward.
"What the fuck is going on?"
He tried to stop himself, but the strange force pulling him was far too powerful. His body moved directly toward the stone wall.
However, instead of crashing into it, his body actually passed through the stone. There was no resistance at all, it was as if the stone wall didn’t even exist.
Mo Yuan’s eyes widened in disbelief.
He tried to resist the strange force again, but it was useless. his entire body was pulled into the stone wall and in the next moment, everything around him became completely dark.
He didn’t even have time to understand what exactly was going on, then he lost consciousness.

Soon, Mo Yuan slowly opened his eyes.
His head was still a little dizzy, and for a few seconds, he couldn’t remember what had happened. He pushed himself up from the ground and looked around in confusion.
"What just happened? Where am I?"
Mo Yuan quickly became alert and carefully examined his surroundings.
He was standing inside a strange corridor.
There was nothing behind him except a solid white wall. On both sides of the corridor stood several large pillars, evenly spaced apart. The entire corridor was painted white, making it look completely different from the dark cave he had entered before.
Mo Yuan looked ahead.
At the very end of the corridor, there was a raised platform with an altar on top of it. A round ball was placed on the altar.
Other than that, there was nothing else.
Mo Yuan frowned.
"Hello? Are you the one who spoke to me last time?"
His voice echoed through the corridor, but no one answered.
Mo Yuan waited for a few seconds.
Nothing happened.
He scratched his head and looked around again.
"Just what the hell is going on?"
He was completely confused.
First, he had tried to destroy the stone wall and somehow ended up passing through it. Then he had lost consciousness and awakened in this strange place.
There was clearly something unusual about this place, then Mo Yuan looked at the round ball sitting on the altar.
"Forget it. Let’s see what exactly that ball is."
Since there was no other path, he decided to investigate the altar.
He slowly walked forward. As he got closer, he noticed that the altar was slightly higher than the corridor floor, so he had to climb a few small stairs before reaching it.
Standing in front of the altar, Mo Yuan carefully stared at the round ball.
It looked completely ordinary. There was no visible energy coming from it and he couldn’t sense anything special about it.
Mo Yuan hesitated for a moment.
Then he took a deep breath.
"Here we go."
He slowly reached out his hand and touched the ball. The moment his fingers made contact with it, the entire ball suddenly lit up.
Mo Yuan’s eyes widened.
"What..."
Before he could react, a mechanical voice suddenly came from the ball.
[Welcome, Contestant No. 86819207046872912705.]
Mo Yuan was stunned.
"Contestant?"
He had a bad feeling about this.
Then another voice sounded.
[The trial will begin in 5 seconds.]
"Trial? What are you talking about?"
Mo Yuan’s expression changed instantly.
He tried to pull his hand away, but before he could even finish speaking, his vision suddenly became dark.
His consciousness once again began to fade.
At the same time, the mechanical voice continued counting.

A/N- For those who have just started reading this on16 august 2026 you can skip this note, as for old readers who have been reading before I went premium, you must be confused about the cave situation, as the first time he went there, he didn’t hear any voice.
Well I have made some changes to previous Chapters. So please read Chapter 11 and 14 to understand what I have changed. You just need to read these two Chapters to understand what exactly I have changed.
