I Ascend to the Divine Throne through Arcane Means

Chapter 1851 - 1001: Haddad’s Resolve (Part 2)

The ancient power of the Day Elf Bloodline is awakening the patterns, and the energy fluctuations in the air are gradually becoming stronger.

A moment later, a golden flame suddenly ignited on Haddad’s body.

The flame was gentle and bright, not at all scorching, instead exuding a warmth akin to sunlight, like a newly risen dawn illuminating the small room as if it were daylight.

Even the patterns on the walls became increasingly clear.

Haddad’s figure gradually became transparent and faded within the golden flame, like water vapor slowly dissipating within the flames.

Lis stood in place, staring at Haddad’s figure, a wave of emotion surging in his heart.

He could feel Haddad’s life force slowly dissipating.

Does it require such a sacrifice?

No wonder Haddad said there was only one chance to open the [Sun Chasing Realm].

Before he completely vanished, Haddad slowly turned his head, his gaze slightly nostalgic as it swept over Lis and the others.

That gaze held a solemn entrustment and a deep attachment to the Elf land he had guarded all his life.

Then, a deep and gentle voice slowly came forth, with a hint of huskiness hardly noticeable, yet clearly echoing in every corner of the room.

"It will be a burden for you all from now on."

As soon as the words fell, Haddad’s figure completely transformed into tiny fragments of golden light, slowly merging into the golden flame, leaving no trace behind.

And the golden flame carrying Haddad’s image, after his disappearance, rose gently.

It flowed like a golden stream along the patterns of the wall, finally merging into the sun of the wall pattern.

In an instant, the sun pattern burst forth with blinding brilliance, more dazzling than the midday scorching sun.

Lis and the others instinctively squinted their eyes, and when the light gradually softened and they opened their eyes again, they saw the sun pattern on the wall slowly turning.

An oval-shaped space channel slowly opened in front of the pattern, its edge surrounded by a faint golden glow.

"This is the space channel leading to the [Sun Chasing Realm]."

Adela said softly from the side, with a bit of sorrow in her words.

Although her relationship with Haddad wasn’t very good before, seeing Haddad pass away like this, she couldn’t restrain an overwhelming emotion surfacing in her heart.

Haddad should have been the only Day Elf, and with his passing, the Alorotti Day Elf Family also completely disappeared, becoming merely a record in the history of the Elves.

The disappearance of the Alorotti family, the Illiser Family, and the Visha Family means that there are no more Day Elves in the Elf Clan.

This is an unimaginable blow to the Elf Clan, but there’s no solution.

With Correlon’s passing, neither Adela nor Haddad could do anything more than exhaust every strength to help the Elf Clan through their current difficulty.

"Did you know before?"

"That opening the channel to the [Sun Chasing Realm] required the sacrifice of life?"

Lis looked at Adela and asked.

Beside her, Daphne looked at the place where Haddad disappeared, her expression also somewhat sorrowful.

"Yes, that’s right."

"Haddad had previously informed me about the matters related to the [Sun Chasing Realm]."

"In the past, opening the [Sun Chasing Realm] didn’t require Haddad to sacrifice his life; otherwise, the price would be too high."

"Previously, Haddad only needed to use the Day Elf Bloodline to evoke the power in the emblem, and My Lord Correlon would open the Secret Realm Gate for them."

"But now, with My Lord Correlon’s demise, it is naturally impossible to guide the opening of the Secret Realm Gate."

"Haddad could only forcefully open this portal at the cost of his own life."

"He was the last Day Elf, which means after this door to the [Sun Chasing Realm] is opened, this secret realm can no longer be accessed."

"So Lis, I hope you can gain as much strength from it as possible."

"I understand."

Lis nodded without saying much more.

This was Haddad’s choice, and there was no need to say anything unnecessary.

As long as it helps the Elf Clan, it would surely fulfill Haddad’s last wish.

"I will stay here and wait for your return."

Adela said, looking at Lis.

"Alright."

Lis nodded.

Then, Lis tightly grasped Daphne’s wrist, and together they stepped into the golden vortex suspended in mid-air.

The band of light at the vortex’s edge spun rapidly, and a dizzying whirlwind struck.

The scene before Lis completely twisted into a blur of golden shadows, and moments later, the feeling of weightlessness abruptly vanished as they landed steadily on the ground.

Lis instinctively steadied Daphne, and once they regained their senses, they realized they were in a completely unfamiliar world.

The air here was as scorching as if it had just poured out of a furnace, breathing in brought a sharp sting, and even breathing became labored.

Looking up, a flaming orb many times larger than the sun of Gaia World hung in the sky, pouring endless light and heat without hindrance.

The light was so blinding it was hard to look directly at, the ground was scorched to a yellowish-brown hue, the air permeated with the dry smell of dust, with no trace of moisture.

Looking as far as the eye could see, all around were barren wastelands stretching endlessly.

All you could see were exposed rocks and scattered gravel, the surface was crisscrossed with cracks, like wounds on the earth torn apart.

No plants in sight, no sound of insects to be heard.

Even the wind carried burning heat, lashing the face like fine sand.

Daphne was obviously unaccustomed to such an environment, her shoulders slumped slightly as she breathed softly.

Lis gently patted her back, signaling her to rest for a moment.

The two waited for a while, as time passed bit by bit.

Apart from the whistling hot wind in their ears, the scorching pain from the rocks beneath their feet, and the continuous burning of the sun overhead, the entire wasteland remained dead silent, with no sign of anything unusual.

It seemed as if there had never been a trace of life here, only eternal desolation and heat.

Is this the [Sun Chasing Realm]?

What’s going on?

Lis looked around, somewhat puzzled.

Wasn’t it said that upon entering here, there would be Correlon’s test?

Why was it that after he and Daphne arrived here, there was no change?

Lis felt a bit of a headache.

Could it be that, unlike before, due to Correlon’s death, this secret realm meant to test the Day Elves is now without a master?

If so, it’s going to be troublesome!

Does he have to actively search for the powers left by Correlon in this secret realm?

Lis gathered a faint azure magical halo at his fingertip, lightly waving it to form a semi-transparent barrier that quietly covered Daphne’s head.

This barrier, though thin as gauze, was sturdy, completely shielding her from the sun’s burning rays.

Threads of coolness seeped along the barrier’s edge, dispelling the surrounding heat, allowing Daphne’s tense brow to slowly relax.

After doing this, Lis looked up at the blinding sun in the sky.

He could clearly feel that the blazing sun was the core of the entire secret realm.

All the Rule Power affecting this world emanated from this sun.

Without any hesitation, Lis’s figure shot forward like an arrow from a bow, toward the sun.

As the distance decreased, its outline became clearer, its mass swelled frantically, slowly dominating most of the sky, like a fiery mountain floating in the air.

Hot waves swept over in layers, distorting the air it passed through.

But this terrifying high temperature had no effect on Lis, as a subtle Magic Shield shimmered around him, blocking all the searing heat from his body.

His eyes firm, his body unwavering, he flew resolutely toward the sun’s core through the layers of hot waves.

Not sure how long he flew, just as he was about to touch the sun, an invisible barrier suddenly appeared.

It was an unseeable, intangible, yet unassailable air wall.

Lis’s body halted, reaching out to touch, his fingertips feeling a firm resistance.

He exerted a little force, and his powerful Magic Power struck the empty space in front of him, only eliciting a faint ripple, unable to move it an inch.

This air wall was like the secret realm’s final shackle, securely barring him from nearing the sun, isolating him from approaching its proximity.
