Chapter 1880 - 1016: The Great Arcanist’s Demise
Dream Space,
Lis watched the mysterious youth sleeping soundly in front of him, quietly waiting by the side.
Just now, he had taken a tour around the village and the surrounding farmlands.
He had interacted with all the villagers, but the only one who felt a bit different was this young man napping in front of him.
There was no other reason; it was simply that Lis sensed a relaxed and carefree aura from this youth.
Of course, this was just Lis’s perception, but as the only relatively special existence in this Dream Space, this young man should be the Great Arcanist.
After a while, the young man turned over, yawned, and sat up.
"Ha~"
"In such good weather, it’s truly a waste not to have a good nap."
The young man rubbed his eyes and looked at Lis, saying.
"Of course."
Lis nodded, the warm sunlight on his body did feel quite good.
If not for those relentless attacks around him, Lis thought he could better appreciate this leisure.
However, the reaction of the youth in front of him also confirmed to him that he had found the right person.
"I didn’t expect you to find me so quickly and uncover the secret of this world."
The youth stood up, patted the dust and grass off his clothes, and spoke.
"This should be your original arcane, quite marvelous indeed."
"May I know how to address you?"
Lis looked at the youth before him, nodded, and spoke.
The youth in front of him was small in stature, seemingly a bit malnourished, but his eyes were exceptionally bright.
Yet, within the depths of the youth’s eyes, Lis could perceive a strong will and madness.
"Just call me Daniel; it doesn’t really matter anyway."
The young man waved his hand, replying casually.
"So, it’s the Great Arcanist {Pupil of Illusionary Words} Daniel."
Upon hearing this name, Lis nodded, matching it directly with the information in his memory.
{Pupil of Illusionary Words} Daniel was one of the Great Arcanists of the Neserel Magic Empire, best known for his skills in Confusion Control Magic.
He was also a key figure in advancing and perfecting the system of Confusion Control Magic.
As for other details about this Great Arcanist, there wasn’t much documentation available.
It was only vaguely hinted that he had a modest background and went through hardships before becoming a Mage.
However, after mastering Extraordinary Power, he progressed rapidly, quickly breaking through to Legend and even becoming one of the Great Arcanists.
"What {Pupil of Illusionary Words}, that’s all history from long ago."
Daniel said, looking at Lis with a tinge of emotion.
"Though I have been in slumber for a long time, in Gaia World, a considerable amount of time must have passed."
"But I never expected that an Arcanist would actually break through to achieve Demigod status."
"Moreover, your future seems to hold even more than this."
"No wonder you found the way to respond so quickly; in some time, you should be able to fully adapt."
"If you were fully prepared, I wouldn’t have reacted this quickly."
Lis said directly.
In fact, the assaults in this Dream Space must have been launched automatically.
If it were initiated by this Great Arcanist personally, there would surely be more diverse methods and agility.
In such a case, it would be much more troublesome for Lis to discern the secrets within or to cope with the attack.
However, it would merely be troublesome.
Yet, Lis found Daniel’s methods rather intriguing.
During the period of the Neserel Magic Empire, various schools of magic flourished.
Of course, back then, the various magic disciplines were incomplete, and magical knowledge was still in development, not comparable to today.
However, during that era, the minds of the Magic Empire’s Mages were not restricted, and all imaginative ideas were put forward; Mages explored many different domains.
Some fields developed well and were preserved.
Others reached dead ends and eventually faded away.
Yet, these attempts significantly contributed to the flourishing of magic.
Even for Lis nowadays, they hold considerable reference value.
For instance, Daniel’s method of obscuring the opponent’s perception was highly fascinating to Lis.
"If it were others, I wouldn’t care if they came here."
Daniel looked at Lis, his expression became serious.
"But, since you’ve broken through to Demigod status, I assume you’re here for Mistra’s {Magic} Divine Position, right?"
Lis nodded and said:
"Yes."
Lis could sense, upon mentioning Mistra and the {Magic} Divine Position, a wild frenzy and rage emanated from Daniel.
Even though he controlled it well, Lis still detected it.
This aura was identical to the one exuded by those numerous Dream Spaces outside.
It’s conceivable, that perhaps it was Daniel’s deep-seated fury and hatred that allowed his will to persist until now.
Yet even under such circumstances, Daniel’s ability to control his emotions was a testament to the formidable strength of this Great Arcanist’s will that lingered on.
"Although my will has been blurred for a long time, I can still feel that former colleagues, enemies, and strangers have united to seal Mistra’s remains and the {Magic} Divine Position?"
After a moment of silence, Daniel continued to ask:
"Do you know why this was?"
