Chapter 1878 - 1015: Truth and Deception
Within the Dream Space,
Lis had a feeling that the villagers appearing in these dreams should be related to the secret within this dream.
Otherwise, why did everything around Lis transform into attacks rushing towards him, while these villagers remained unchanged?
There’s definitely an issue here!
Lis scrutinized the villagers in the village, his expression grave.
Currently, the surrounding attacks aren’t much trouble for him, but to navigate this Dream Space, he surely needs to uncover its secret.
Otherwise, Lis would have to completely destroy the Dream Space.
It’s important to know that these Dream Spaces all belong to the Great Arcanists of the Magic Empire, and according to Lis’s perception, they’re equivalent to the Dream Spaces of demigod strongmen.
Though their Dream Spaces aren’t impossible for Lis to destroy.
However, doing so would be quite troublesome for Lis.
After all, these Dream Spaces are particularly unique compared to normal Dream Spaces.
Lis could feel the strong wills belonging to the Great Arcanists within these Dream Spaces.
To destroy them, Lis would have to directly confront those Great Arcanists.
Even for Lis, who has achieved demigod status, this is not easy.
Even if successful, it would surely take Lis a lot of time,
Moreover, this is just one of the several Dream Spaces surrounding the Floating City.
Lis couldn’t possibly forcefully destroy every Dream Space.
Therefore, the best method for Lis is to find the key to navigating these Dream Spaces.
Besides, Lis is quite interested in these Dream Spaces.
After all, these Dream Spaces belong to the Great Arcanists of the Magic Empire, each standing at the pinnacle of the Gaia World at that time and being significant to All Gods.
In fact, these multiple Great Arcanists should be the key leading to the fall of the [Magic Net Goddess] Mistra.
Within these Dream Spaces, there’s a high possibility of remnants of those Great Arcanists’ wills remaining.
If found, it would be quite a significant gain for Lis.
On one hand, it’s the Extraordinary Knowledge possessed by these Great Arcanists, which if acquired would be highly valuable to Lis.
On the other hand, Lis is quite concerned with many aspects of the [Magic Collapse] event, particularly regarding the situation during Mistra’s fall.
After all, even when entering the Floating City, acquiring the [Magic] divine position left by Mistra is bound to encounter numerous troubles and difficulties.
If he could obtain some useful clues from these Great Arcanists’ Dream Spaces, it would aid Lis’s future actions.
Is it not indeed the Dream Space of the Great Arcanists?
Looking at the extremely realistic and yet mysterious Dream Realm before him, Lis couldn’t help but feel a bit of a headache.
He could sense, in addition to the constant eerie attacks on him, a force of spiritual power was continuously distorting Lis’s thoughts.
This feeling was like being in a vortex, with a sense of direction constantly distorted.
Enduring this nauseating feeling, Lis looked at the villagers some distance away and, after a moment of thought, approached them.
The villagers noticed Lis’s approach, their expressions somewhat frightened, but they made no move to leave.
For them, someone of Lis’s stature was completely irresistible.
They didn’t even dare to escape.
Meanwhile, these villagers tightly held onto their children.
At this moment, they couldn’t let their children anger this formidable person.
The children, tightly held by adults, were unable to move.
However, their eyes were firmly fixed on Lis.
As Lis approached these villagers, he frowned, sensing the pressure on him becoming significantly stronger.
Clearly, something didn’t want Lis to contact these villagers.
Sure enough, these villagers are likely the key to this Dream Space.
While dealing with the attacks, Lis observed the villagers in front of him.
To Lis, these villagers seemed almost real, and he couldn’t find anything amiss.
Yet, they didn’t seem to notice the attacks directed at Lis.
Apart from Lis, everything was as usual.
Lis arrived beside the villagers, adopting an aloof noble tone and inquired directly:
"What is this place?"
"Sire, we are in Hek Village,"
The leading elder villager responded respectfully, bending over and avoiding Lis’s gaze.
"Hek Village? I haven’t heard of this place; to which noble lord or kingdom does it belong?"
Lis examined the villagers before him and continued asking.
The villagers’ clothing was quite simple, mostly without any patterns or decorations.
However, from some features of the village houses, this place seemed to belong to the area once overseen by the Neserel Magic Empire.
Yet, the Neserel Magic Empire is already a rather distant past, and from the features of the village houses, Lis couldn’t determine which period of the Neserel Magic Empire they belonged to.
"Our lord is Baron Cyril; Baron Cyril pledges allegiance to His Majesty the King of the Windsor Kingdom, but as for others... please forgive me, I don’t know."
