Lis also obtained relevant intelligence through this channel.

Could it be that it came from the Demon’s Gate in the ocean?

That’s not quite right either...

Lis shook his head, dismissing this possibility.

Although the Demon’s Gates in the ocean are primarily dealt with by the oceanic races, the Church of the Gods and the Human Clan rarely interfere.

However, there are Divine Churches like that of the Ocean Goddess responsible for relaying important information.

Previous enmities don’t matter much in the face of an Abyss Demon invasion.

In general, they might not inform the Church of the Gods about such matters, but critical intelligence like that of a Demigod-level Shadow Demon should have been reported.

No matter how one thinks about it, this Demigod Shadow Demon seems to have appeared out of thin air.

Could a Demon’s Gate on the Luou Peninsula allow a Demigod Demon to pass, and Kane Floating City has failed to detect it?

That’s not impossible either.

Never mind, let’s capture this Demigod Demon first and then consider other things.

Lis made up his mind and then looked at the Abyss Demon below.

The Shadow Demon was still roaring and launching attacks against the Barrier Lis had set up, but apart from having its shadow burned by the sunlight-like radiance, it hadn’t broken through Lis’ Barrier.

This is where an Arcanist can be a bit tricky.

Arcanists can tailor their responses to different opponents.

Moreover, as an Arcanist’s strength increases and their knowledge broadens, they handle situations more effortlessly.

Now, Lis, as the only Demigod Arcanist in the Gaia World, has showcased the traits of an Arcanist perfectly against this Shadow Demon.

To deal with an Arcanist like Lis, one would need to completely overpower him with strength; otherwise, it’s nearly impossible to find his weaknesses.

To Lis, the Demigod Demon before him is much like a lamb ready for slaughter.

After all, Lis also masters the Shadow Rule Power that this Shadow Demon excels at.

Though he hasn’t advanced to the Demigod Rank like this Shadow Demon, he can still sense the presence of the Shadow Demon.

This renders the Shadow Demon’s greatest ability ineffective against Lis.

Keep in mind, the Shadow Demon’s inherent strength isn’t significant; it’s due to its Shadow Power allowing it to hide and assassinate in the shadows, which inspires such fear.

But in its current state, exposed under the Holy Light, this Shadow Demon is entirely suppressed by Lis, like a thief who has lost its stealth capability, its strength reduced by at least half.

Lis didn’t linger outside the Sunlight Barrier; he launched various arcane attacks against the Shadow Demon as he descended into the Barrier.

He did not intend to kill this Shadow Demon directly but to attempt capturing it alive instead.

Uncle Joyce, as a Shadow Assassin, is also on the path of the Shadow Rules.

Capturing this Demigod Rank Shadow Demon to study would be quite a nice gift for Uncle Joyce.

Lis wasn’t worried about any danger.

Given the current status of Kane Floating City, sealing a Demigod Demon isn’t too challenging.

He just needed to beat this Demigod Demon half to death first.

Lis loosened his grip on the Magic Wand, and it hovered above the Barrier, its vast Magic Power continually surging, transforming into countless Fireballs, Lightning, and Wind Blades that fell upon the Demigod Demon below.

At the same time, Lis’s attire transformed, his Mage Robe shifting to a light outfit woven from Mithril, and a Longsword seemingly made of pure white light appeared in his hand.

The World Tree’s Moonlight Holy Grail appeared above his head, slowly rotating, the Jade power descending to bestow several layers of Divine Protection upon him.

Pastom’s Stomach appeared beneath the Barrier, and as invisible force surged, swallowing all the city’s shadows, leaving the Shadow Demon with no chance of escaping.

After preparing, Lis blinked and appeared right in front of the Shadow Demon.

Lifting his wrist, Lis brought the Longsword in his hand, wrapped in a fierce gust, down upon the Shadow Demon in a simple and direct slash.

The blade radiated with Holy Power, tearing through the chilling air, seemingly conjuring ripples in the Space itself.

The Shadow Demon, lurking at the edge of the Barrier, was futilely struggling to escape the constraints of the Sunlight Barrier.

Noticing Lis’s sudden assault, it abruptly raised its indistinct head, a violent red light flashing within its hollow eye sockets, followed by a deafening roar.

This roar didn’t emanate from its throat but directly resonated within one’s consciousness, bearing the Demigod’s pressure, attempting to disturb Lis’s mind.

However, this was Lis’s forte; he maintained an unchanged expression, his mind as steadfast as a Rock, utterly unaffected.

Before the roar even subsided, the Shadow Demon’s figure suddenly became a streak of pitch-black, dodging Lis’s attack and instantly appearing behind Lis.

Even within the Sunlight Barrier, unable to utilize any Shadow Power for stealth or teleportation, its physical speed was still astonishingly formidable.

Its right claw, covered in black scales, lifted sharply, the talons sharp as cold blades gleaming with a chilling luster, leaving a fleeting shadow aiming straight for Lis’s head.

It seemed poised to crush Lis’s skull completely.

In the critical moment, Lis remained unmoved, yet his left hand slowly rose.

With a flick of his fingertip, a thin beam of golden light shot from Lis’s fingertip.

A circle of faint golden ripples abruptly appeared in the air, like water disturbed by a stone.

As the ripples spread, a formless Rule Power quietly converged, quickly transforming into several slender and resilient golden chains.

The chains exuded a strong aura of Rule Power, precisely wrapping around the Shadow Demon’s swinging right arm, binding it tightly.

Clang!

The moment the chains tightened, they produced a metallic clang, binding the Shadow Demon’s claws mid-air just inches from Lis’s head, unable to advance any further.

It struggled madly, the muscles of its right arm swelling, the black scales shimmering with a sinister luster in the sunlight, attempting to break free from the chains.

No matter how piercing the Shadow Demon’s roars, the chains formed from Rule Power were indestructible.

Every struggle brought excruciating pain, causing the scales on its arm to flake and ooze dark blood.

Not bad!

Lis observed the chains transformed by Rule Power.

This was a new ability Lis acquired following his breakthrough with the Wisdom Rule.

The Rule Chains contained Lis’s Wisdom Rule Power, exerting considerable suppressive force on anyone with lower Law Comprehension than him.

If Lis also mastered the Rule Power of his opponent and integrated it into the Wisdom Rule, the suppressive effect would be even stronger.

Just like now, this Shadow Demon couldn’t break free from Lis’s Rule Chains.

Still, Lis didn’t give the Shadow Demon any chance to breathe, his right hand sweeping the Longsword across, slashing it heavily upon the Shadow Demon’s left arm.

The Longsword easily pierced through its scales, leaving a bone-deep wound.

Dark blood spurted forth, dissipating into wisps of black smoke as it hit the ground.

The Shadow Demon let out a howl of agony, its body trembling violently, yet refusing to yield.

Its left claw desperately reached for Lis, though its speed had noticeably diminished.

Lis shifted slightly, gracefully dodging the feeble attack, while his left foot sharply kicked out, striking the Shadow Demon’s chest hard.

The massive force sent the Shadow Demon’s huge form stumbling backward several steps, crashing against the Barrier of Sunlight.

Before it steadied itself, Lis was already upon it, his Longsword raining down like a storm.

Each strike precisely targeted the Shadow Demon’s vital points, each imbued with the Power of Sunlight, steadily eroding its Life Force.
