Chapter 1832 - 992: Shirek’s Proposal
In the midst of the battlefield,
Lis watched his surroundings warily.
Whether from the anomalies he discovered earlier or the new prompts from the system, they all made Lis realize he was caught in an outright conspiracy.
However, this time it wasn’t the Demon Prince Demogorgon, but the "Prince of Lies" Shirek.
Thinking of this, Lis felt a bit of a headache.
What was wrong with him recently, always attracting these beings with powerful divine powers?
Even in Gaia World, it gave him no small amount of pressure!
And just like the Beastman Main God Gushu before, Shirek didn’t choose to communicate with him but acted directly in secret.
It was very clear that Shirek wanted to use some means to control him.
Lis was certain that this was absolutely Shirek himself taking action.
He even used a piece as powerful as a Demigod Shadow Demon, enough to show his regard for Lis.
However, Shirek still hadn’t considered Lis’s unique traits.
Both the system prompts and the warnings from the Rule of Wisdom had awakened Lis from Shirek’s confusion.
Simultaneously, Lis could sense that a closed space had formed around him, isolating any outsiders from entering.
Without a doubt, this too was Shirek’s handiwork.
However, Lis naturally could sense his external spatial coordinates with the location of Kane Floating City,
which meant he had no problem escaping this space.
Nevertheless, Lis wasn’t in a hurry.
He couldn’t always be cautious of the "Prince of Lies" Shirek’s ambush.
He had to try to probe a bit, to see what Shirek was ultimately planning.
Lis glanced around, watching the surrounding mist spread out without taking action.
Because of Shirek’s Divine Domain powers, Lis overlooked the changes in his surroundings.
Now it seemed the environment around him was quite abnormal.
The influence Lis felt earlier should also have been partly due to these mists.
Shirek’s Divine Domain was exceedingly strange.
Just like his divine name, it was centered around the Rule Domain of "Lies".
However, compared to other rules, the Rule of Lies wasn’t particularly powerful.
But Shirek continuously perfected and enhanced the power of Lies by mastering other rule powers.
Such as Trickery, Conspiracy, Shadow, Murder, and a series of other rule domains.
This made the power of the "Prince of Lies" Shirek exceedingly bizarre.
According to records of Shirek, he could even deceive other Divines with lies, trapping them in a false world woven by him, and ultimately leading them to their downfall.
And even if one could see through Shirek’s lies, it was still challenging to maintain oneself completely, and there was a likely chance of falling to Shirek’s assassination.
Thus, a considerable number of Divines feared Shirek immensely.
For Lis, it equally demanded the highest level of vigilance.
Until now, he didn’t quite understand the power of Shirek’s Divine Domain.
It was as if draped in a thin veil, appearing unreal and elusive in Lis’s eyes.
"I didn’t expect you to wake up."
A gentle voice appeared by Lis’s ear.
Immediately, the black mist before Lis churned constantly, coalescing into a figure before him,
His figure was slender, and his alabaster skin bore an unhealthy pallor, making his features even more exquisite and sharp, like a meticulously crafted work of art.
This man wore a flowing, black robe, as dark as the night, with faintly glowing dark patterns at the edges. With each movement, delicate shadows rippled, accentuating his tall and mysterious form.
His deep black eyes were as profound as the Abyss, with madness and calculation surging beneath their surface, yet a smile eternally lingered at the corners of his lips.
The smile was warm yet lazy, with a touch of mockery and disdain at the corners of his mouth.
It seemed cordial, but in truth, concealed bone-chilling malice and deceit.
Every movement carried the arrogance of a Divine, with every glance and every hint of a smile resembling a carefully woven lie trap, enticing one into surrender.
"Lord Shirek?"
Lis paused for a moment, then spoke.
Upon seeing Shirek, he immediately felt that same bizarre feeling, trying to beguile his soul.
However, having been prepared, this level of influence was not a significant issue for Lis.
"I wonder why you’ve appeared here?"
Lis looked at Shirek, maintaining the most basic respect, and tentatively asked.
Lis knew well that in a previous life, Shirek collaborated with the Abyss Evil Gods, standing against the Order Gods.
And appearing here undoubtedly meant he planned to take action against Lis.
If they could capture him, the World Tree Favored, it would indeed be great news for the Endless Abyss side.
Simultaneously, Lis sensed the powerful aura of this Shirek before him.
This should be a Divine Avatar like Azus that had long descended into Gaia World.
This avatar held a considerable portion of Shirek’s original power.
No wonder that when he tried to confuse Lis earlier, it almost led him astray.
In Lis’s view, Shirek’s ability was somewhat similar to the Mystery Lock Barrier used by Demogorgon during the destruction of the Elf Royal Court, which could change consciousness.
Both obscure one’s thoughts, silently altering personal thinking.
However, even though this time it was the "Prince of Lies" Shirek personally taking action, with a power even more bizarre and formidable than that of the Mystery Lock Barrier, it still wasn’t enough to completely mislead Lis like last time.
Nevertheless, Lis still felt some lingering fear.
