I Ascend to the Divine Throne through Arcane Means

Chapter 1802 - 979: Holy Tree (Part 2)

"No problem, Lord Lis."

"Audette will always be with you as your guide. Even if it involves the city’s forbidden grounds, I can apply to the council, and I don’t think there will be any issues."

"Alright."

Lis nodded and then walked out the door in front of the two.

"Pay attention, don’t make mistakes, and contact me promptly if anything happens."

Seeing this, Nolan softly advised Audette:

"This is also a rare opportunity for you, consult Lord Lis more, it will benefit your future."

"Hmm, I understand."

Audette patiently nodded repeatedly this time, then trotted behind Lis.

...

On the edge of Wilderness City,

Nolan arrived around a small wooden cabin.

This cabin was no different from the surrounding cabins, very ordinary.

The only thing special might be the flowers and plants around the cabin, which were obviously tended to meticulously, adding a bright touch to this cabin.

Nolan walked into the cabin and saw an elder lying in a rocking chair asleep, with cherry wood quietly burning in the fireplace beside him, emitting a faint sweet aroma.

"Lord Miles."

Nolan looked at the elder in front of him and said respectfully.

Even though he was quite aged, in front of this elder, he was nothing.

Nolan still remembered seeing Saint Miles in Wilderness City as a child.

Countless years had passed, but Saint Miles looked exactly as he remembered from his childhood.

"Nolan."

The elder didn’t sit up, lazily reclining in the chair, looking at Nolan and asking:

"What was the response of the World Tree Favored?"

"He guessed that it was a test from the Father of Oak and chose not to go to the council’s treasury, now he’s strolling in Wilderness City, I have Audette accompanying him."

Upon hearing this, Miles sighed slightly and said:

"I knew it! Being noticed by My Lord, this World Tree Favored is indeed exceptional."

"Although this was the command of My Lord, it would’ve been nice if he chose something from the treasury to take away."

"Even if it was that Divine Artifact~"

"Lord Miles... should I?"

Nolan looked at Miles in front of him and asked softly.

"Forget it."

Miles waved his hand, said a bit heartbroken:

"If that really gets taken by Lis, there’s nothing to be done, it’s My Lord’s command."

"Since he already understands My Lord’s intention, let’s not interfere."

"...Yes."

Nolan nodded.

He didn’t know what gift Father of Oak had given Lis, but judging from Miles’ expression, he had some guesses.

For it to make Miles feel so pained, even willing to give away a Divine Artifact, there were only a few such items in the council.

Thinking about it, Nolan somewhat understood.

Sigh~

Hope World Tree Favored Lis doesn’t find out~

This was the test given to Lis by the Father of Oak, even though they’re unwilling, neither Miles nor Nolan stopped Lis.

Meanwhile, Lis was strolling around Wilderness City with Audette.

The entire Wilderness City was vast, as most members preferred natural environments, so the distance between each cabin was considerable.

With Audette leading the way, Lis spent the day exploring Wilderness City, ultimately not finding anything.

During this time, Lis cleared his thoughts.

First, this was a test from the Father of Oak, clearly not set to deliberately challenge him.

In other words, the Father of Oak hoped he could find clues through his abilities.

Thus, this clue should be within Wilderness City, not hidden by anyone.

Secondly, after Lis explored Wilderness City, he confirmed that besides the giant oak tree at the city center, nothing else was particularly special.

Perhaps certain hidden areas in Wilderness City and their powerful obscure energy waves, but Lis recognized it as the special power of the Oak Council.

Such as Divine Artifacts, and unique divine faith facilities...

But those didn’t pique Lis’ interest.

What Father of Oak prepared for him wouldn’t be something so simple.

Thus, Lis focused his attention on the giant oak tree.

Lis arrived beneath the revered Holy Tree, quietly observing the giant tree before him.

The closer to the giant oak tree, the more intense Lis’ internal awe grew.

The oak tree was far grander than he’d imagined, its cracked bark was deep brown, full of the marks of time, yet exuding ineffable vitality.

An immense life force spread like an invisible tide, wrapping around Lis completely.

It felt as if a heart was hidden within the oak tree’s trunk, beating with an ancient, steady rhythm.

Each beat carried gentle power, causing nearby grass and trees to sway softly, and Lis’ breathing gradually synchronizing with the rhythm of life.

Beneath the oak was simultaneously a scene of tranquility and harmony.

About ten Transcendents sat scattered on the exposed thick roots; those roots intertwined, robust and gripping like giant dragon claws sunk deep into the soil, supporting the towering oak.

Most wore simple clothes adorned with leaf patterns, some had dried oak nuts and beast teeth hanging at their waists, others carried antique longbows on their backs.

From these characteristics, Lis easily identified them as Druids and Rangers.

All these Druids and Rangers had their eyes closed, their expressions solemn and serene, seemingly deeply immersed in the oak tree’s life force.

At this moment, these Extraordinary Professionals were one with the forest and the ancient tree.

Lis didn’t approach directly, he stood quietly a short distance away, his gaze lingering on the oak tree’s crown.

Layers of green leaves refracted dappled golden light under the sun; the wind blowing through created a soft rustling sound, as though the Holy Tree was whispering.

Sunlight filtered through the gaps between the leaves, casting mottled shadows on the ground, mingling with moss around the tree roots and scattered oak nuts, forming a tranquil and holy picture.

Gradually, Lis felt his breathing becoming slower and deeper, replaced by an unprecedented serenity.

He could clearly sense the flow of moisture beneath the soil, hear birds chirping among the leaves, and distinctly catch the heartbeat-like throb of the oak tree.

He stepped forward, closer to the oak tree.

Each step closer, Lis better appreciated the uniqueness of the Holy Tree before him.

He could confirm this Holy Tree contained the power of Father of Oak’s Divine Domain.

It resembled Nature but also seemed to contain other domains’ powers, blended together.

How marvelous!

Soon, Lis was under the Holy Tree, sitting cross-legged on the roots, his mind absorbed into that special feeling.

Audette, who had accompanied Lis, noticed his state but didn’t disturb him.

This Holy Tree contained the power of Father of Oak, providing guidance for Oak Council members to understand deeper origins of rules.

Now it seemed Lord Lis was experiencing the same.

She planned to stay here for the time being.

She couldn’t let anyone interrupt Lord Lis’ meditation!

Act immediately!

Audette carefully approached Lis, keeping an eye on the surroundings.

Those not far away noticed her actions and were curious about what the newly appointed Legendary Druid was doing.

...

Elsewhere,

Miles, who was still lying in the chair, sat up directly, turned towards the Holy Tree at the city center of Wilderness City, with a bit of emotion and sorrow, said:

"He found it after all..."

"Wondering if anything is left for the council..."
