But Su Ming continued gritting his teeth. His skin reddened, and his veins bulged, pulsing with a faint red light as they strained against the sudden influx of power. The temperature around him rose, the air shimmering and distorting the rays of the morning sun as he commanded the Yang energy to settle.
He closed his eyes and directed the five floating elemental essences into his body. As the elemental essences entered his pathways, he summoned his white flames within his body, letting the pale fire wash through his meridians and the elemental essences to further purify them.
Su Ming had been using these white flames from time to time to cleanse his body of deep impurities. Because of this repeated cleansing, his physical body was nearly devoid of impurities, and using the white flames was much easier now, no longer consuming his life force.

The starlight metal essence of the Blackstar Meteorite Core tempered his Lungs, sharpening his breath Qi and feeding the Water. Each inhalation felt like cold steel, his breath whistling as the metallic energy reinforced his chest and rib cage.
