Chapter 99 - Fusing The Sovereign Will

He reflected on its origin. The Sovereign Will was not a concept he had simply copied from the Sky Sovereign Technique. It had always stemmed from his own path of body cultivation, specifically, the Sovereign Domination he had comprehended during his enlightenment of Extreme Yang.

He remembered the feeling of that moment. His physical presence gaining the authority to command and influence the physical world, bending the rules to his will to a certain extent. More than his Dragon Will, his Sovereign Will was already on the verge of touching the threshold of the laws. That crystallization of authority was what drove the Yang aspect of his Yin-Yang Origin Law, translating his body’s absolute presence into the active command of motion and acceleration.

He had practiced the Sky Sovereign Sword Technique to true perfection, channeling this Sovereign Will through it. Yet, the physical authority of his body and the conceptual power of his sword had remained parallel forces. He had never truly merged this authority of domination into the sword technique itself. A thin, stubborn distance had always remained.

The overwhelming pressure of the Sword Pool, along with the absolute clarity brought by the Halo of Insight in his sea of consciousness, closed that distance. Under the intense, grinding force of the liquid Sword Qi, the barrier between his body path’s Domination authority and the Sky Sovereign Sword Technique’s Sword Will dissolved. His Sovereign Domination settled fully into the sword technique, locking the two paths into a single, flawless whole.

Now a single Sovereign Will commanded the sword technique.

It started with a presence, an authority that did not negotiate. It dominated.

Space ordered to yield. Structure ordered to hold. Judgment delivered with the full weight of his own authority behind it. Three stages, one continuous demand.

What emerged was not a will that imitated a heavenly decree. It was a will that held genuine command over the physical laws around him, bending them not because the technique allowed it, but because they were his to bend and dominate. It was the same way his own body had long since stopped answering to Yang and started ordering it instead.

Three moves. One authority, finally commanding them as itself.

Under the absolute clarity of the Halo of Insight, he tried to peer beyond this stage. Both of his techniques represented different sides of the same coin, and he contemplated merging their wills into a single, unified force. But he quickly abandoned the idea, realizing his limits. First, he had to master them individually and elevate their authority before he could even attempt that. Trying to force them together now would cause a violent backlash that risked tearing his body apart.

For now, he chose to let them grow in parallel.

On the fourteenth day, Su Ming reached the absolute edge of the Elder’s Sword Pool, bordering the heavy mist of the Innermost Pool.

Because of his new insights, his Dragon Will had undergone a quiet evolution, carrying the Void Dragon nature of his constitution without conscious effort. His Sovereign Sword Will surged alongside it, both breaking through to the final stages of the Sword Will.

Unrelenting Will.

The steel-gray liquid around him rippled in perfect, concentric circles, suppressed by his presence.

The mist above the pool responded to this breakthrough. Wisp by wisp, the gray mist stopped drifting at random.

Above his head, the mist did not simply gather; it obeyed. All at once, the drifting mist snapped into place, arranging itself into rigid, concentric rings that hung in the air, as if waiting for a command it had already decided to follow. It formed a crown, radiating authority outward with a quiet yet undeniable presence.

The coiled dragon in the mist, once a faint and drifting outline, had now fully formed. It did not radiate authority the way the crown did. It simply coiled there, yet the space around it remained absolutely still.

Two wills, fully formed, faced each other in the silent mist above the pool.

One commanded. The other erased.

Neither moved. Neither needed to. One was the shape of everything finally obeying. The other was the shape of everything that had stopped existing, as if it never had.

With his wills consolidated and the mist shapes formed, Su Ming turned his gaze toward the Innermost Pool. The mist was too dense for his normal divine sense to pierce through, but he was curious.

Activating his Essence Sight, he looked deeper.

His vision shifted, piercing through the gray barrier. At the very bottom of the Innermost Pool, he caught a clear glimpse of the ancient Sword Monument, standing tall and silent at the center of the heavy liquid Sword Qi.

The moment his sight touched the monument, a sudden, blinding pain shot through his eyes. It felt as if a million needles were driving directly into his sea of consciousness. Su Ming gasped, his teeth gritting as his face went pale with pain. Sweat broke out on his forehead, and he pressed his hand to his temple, his body trembling under the threat of an imminent backlash.

Before the pain could shatter his focus, a heavy, calm voice echoed directly in his mind, shielding him from the mental attack.

"Do not try to peer into the innermost pool, little friend, unless you have the capability first."

Su Ming froze, his breathing ragged as he shut off his Essence Sight. The voice carried a blade-like pressure, yet it held no malice.

"This junior thanks Senior for the aid," Su Ming said, cupping his hands in a respectful bow, his voice still unsteady from the pain.

Su Ming closed his eyes, slowly regulating his breath as the pain subsided. He stood up, stepping out of the Sword Pool onto the dark shore.

As his breath evened and the silver liquid calmed behind him, he realized this complete consolidation of his Sword Wills had elevated his Yin-Yang Origin Law at its core. The dual concepts of Yin and Yang were the foundation of the law, and with both wills now matured, the law itself had stepped into a higher state.

With his sword paths completely tempered, he was ready to return to White Lotus Peak.
