Chapter 128 - 127: So Infuriating
"Your disciple isn’t bad, but his power is still a little lacking if he wants to beat Fang Tian." Seeing Tang Piaomiao land a hit on Fang Tian, Xiao Bai looked at Wang Zongyao and said with a faint smile.
He wasn’t angered that Tang Piaomiao had Seen Through Fang Tian’s move. Instead, he maintained his calm demeanor, as if victory was already in his grasp. A faint smile remained on his face, and he didn’t look the least bit nervous.
Moreover, Xiao Bai seemed extremely confident in Fang Tian.
"Is that so? Then I’ll have to get a good look at this candidate Fang Tian’s strength," Wang Zongyao said noncommittally.
It didn’t matter if Tang Piaomiao could beat this Fang Tian. In the end, they had Tang Yi to anchor the team, so Wang Zongyao was completely at ease.
’Just let them have their match. They’re all going to lose to Tang Yi in the end anyway.’
"Just you wait and see." Xiao Bai chuckled. He had no idea what Wang Zongyao was thinking, so he remained carefree, assuming his side’s strength was far superior to Fengyue City’s.
Meanwhile, Fang Tian, who had been sent flying by Tang Piaomiao’s punch, defiantly got back to his feet. He said viciously, "Brat, you actually dared to hit me? You must have a death wish! Hmph. Even though we can’t kill on the qualification exam stage, I’m going to make you understand the true meaning of pain!"
After speaking, Fang Tian cracked his neck, dusted himself off, and charged toward Tang Piaomiao once more.
"You talk too much. If you have any real skill, then show it instead of just running your mouth," Tang Piaomiao retorted. Seeing Fang Tian charge, he moved, intending to circle around to Fang Tian’s side just as he had when he broke through his opponent’s move before.
But...
This time, however, was different. Just as Tang Piaomiao began to move, before he had gotten very far, Fang Tian suddenly changed direction!
He tilted his body, swerving in a new direction and continuing his pursuit of Tang Piaomiao.
’He’s not moving in a straight line this time?’
Tang Piaomiao frowned, bracing himself for a direct confrontation.
After all, one couldn’t be careless when fighting a Battle Grandmaster.
Besides, this Fang Tian seemed different from the ’Fang Tian’ he had faced just moments ago!
Tang Piaomiao focused his mind, pouring all his concentration into the match. He completely cleared his thoughts, entering a state free of want or desire.
Then, just as Fang Tian charged, Tang Piaomiao advanced instead of retreating, balling his fist and striking out.
"Hmph!"
"Stone-Breaking Fist!"
Tang Piaomiao shouted, unleashing a ferocious punch.
Stone-Breaking Fist, a Lower Grade Profound Tier Martial Technique of the Tang Family.
It was the exact same punch as before!
This time, however, Tang Piaomiao put every last ounce of his strength into it. The power behind this punch was far greater than before.
Tang Piaomiao knew that Fang Tian’s Level was much higher than his own. His previous punch, despite its incredible power, had only managed to knock his opponent down without causing any real damage. He understood that if he didn’t use his full strength now, he had absolutely no hope of winning.
As Fang Tian charged toward Tang Piaomiao, he never expected that his opponent would dare to stand his ground. Instead of dodging, Tang Piaomiao actually launched the first attack, confronting him head-on.
This sudden development stunned Fang Tian for a moment, and his reaction was a fraction of a second too slow, allowing Tang Piaomiao to seize the initiative.
Before Fang Tian could even make a move, Tang Piaomiao’s fist was already blasting toward his face.
By the time Fang Tian reacted and tried to counter, it was already too late.
If Fang Tian were a Battle Master like Tang Piaomiao, or even an ordinary One-Star or Two-Star Battle Grandmaster, he might have been knocked down by that ferocious punch.
But...
Fang Tian was a Three-star Battle Grandmaster. In terms of raw strength, he was leagues ahead of Tang Piaomiao!
At that moment, the immense advantage of his higher Level became apparent.
Even though his reaction was slow and he had missed the optimal window to counter, Fang Tian was still able to rely on his superior strength. As Tang Piaomiao’s fist flew toward him, he forcibly twisted his body, dodging the full-power punch.
Immediately after, using the momentum from the twist, Fang Tian’s body spun ninety degrees until his back was to Tang Piaomiao. Then, bending his arm, he viciously slammed his elbow backward.
The elbow strike was incredibly sharp, and the transition was lightning-fast. The entire sequence, from dodging to turning and counter-attacking with his elbow, happened in the blink of an eye.
The entire series of movements was as fluid as flowing water, without a single awkward motion.
This was a testament to just how formidable Fang Tian’s raw strength was.
Sensing the imminent danger, Tang Piaomiao’s pupils constricted. He immediately retracted his fist to defend himself.
He crossed his hands, palms forward, and quickly raised them in front of his chest to block the incoming elbow strike.
BANG!
Fang Tian’s elbow slammed into Tang Piaomiao’s hands. The immense force instantly sent him staggering back five or six steps before he barely managed to regain his footing.
But it wasn’t over. Having landed a successful blow, Fang Tian wasn’t about to give Tang Piaomiao a chance to breathe.
He pressed his advantage as Tang Piaomiao retreated, hammering him with one punch after another and forcing him to desperately dodge.
Fang Tian’s punching Speed was incredible. He didn’t seem to be using any Martial Techniques—they were just ordinary punches, yet each carried immense Momentum.
In an instant, Tang Piaomiao was completely suppressed, with no opportunity to counter-attack.
There was nothing to be done. The difference in their Levels was just too great.
BAM!
After an unknown number of punches and moves, Tang Piaomiao finally couldn’t hold on any longer. A punch from Fang Tian connected with his face, and he collapsed to the ground, unconscious.
The referee rushed onto the stage to check Tang Piaomiao’s injuries. After confirming that his life wasn’t in danger and that he had only fainted, the referee announced the result.
Fang Tian wins!
Winning two rounds in a row greatly boosted the prestige of the candidates from Wind Rain City, making them even more arrogant.
"You ignorant peasants of Fengyue City, did you see that? So this is your so-called genius! This ’genius’ is only good for lying on the ground and eating shit."
"Pathetic. Fang Tian is the weakest of our five seeded contestants, and even he is sweeping the floor with you. It seems the candidates from Fengyue City really are nothing special."
"Haha, I was hoping some real experts would show up for a challenge. I never thought they’d all be newbies."
"Go on, keep shouting! Weren’t you all so fierce a moment ago? Trash Fengyue City. With this level of skill, you actually think you can fight against our Wind Rain City?"
"I can’t wait to see the looks on the faces of these Fengyue City peasants when Fang Tian beats all five of your contestants. They’ll probably look as ugly as if they’d just eaten dog shit, right? Hahahahaha!"
"Fengyue City is getting more and more pathetic."
"..."
The candidates from Wind Rain City were all speaking loudly, as if to make sure everyone from Fengyue City could hear them. Their sheer arrogance made people want to march right up and beat them to a pulp.
However, with people from the West Mansion present, no one dared to act so rashly.
Fighting them was out of the question, but cursing certainly wasn’t.
And so, the citizens of Fengyue City once again drowned the Wind Rain City candidates in a verbal deluge, cursing them relentlessly.
