Chapter 527 - 260: Mysterious Domain
Zhao Rui was incredibly fast. In the span of a single breath, he was behind the duo, unleashing a torrent of fists and feet like flowing water.
The two white-clad men had no choice but to stop and defend with all their might.
One of them already had a broken wing, his combat power greatly reduced. He didn’t last two moves before Zhao Rui tore off his remaining wing.
"AHH!"
A miserable scream escaped his lips. A powerful fluctuation of his Divine Soul vividly conveyed his agony.
Having made his move, he naturally wouldn’t hold back. Zhao Rui waved his hand, preparing to finish the two of them off.
Just then, the aircraft hovering in the air suddenly shot out a rainbow-colored beam of light, enveloping all three of them.
Zhao Rui felt an irresistible pulling force. The space around him grew turbulent as the pull intensified.
Zhao Rui hurriedly used his Domain Power to stabilize the surrounding spatial turbulence. The two forces collided, erupting in an even more violent ripple through space.
The entire area warped violently. A massive explosion boomed from above, and before Zhao Rui could react, the scene before his eyes shifted. He found himself in an unfamiliar Star Realm.
The place was desolate; the nearest asteroid was tens of thousands of kilometers away.
The surroundings were empty, with very little cosmic dust.
’Where is this?’
Zhao Rui’s brows furrowed. The rainbow light was clearly a form of spatial teleportation technology.
His Domain Power had resisted it, causing the ship to combust. The pull had become unbalanced, silently shifting his spatial coordinates.
His eyes scanned the surroundings. Suddenly, his gaze sharpened. His body flickered, and after a few flashes, he appeared several thousand kilometers away.
Before him stood the two white-clad men, their faces a mask of astonishment.
"You... you!"
The two never expected Zhao Rui to have been transported to the same place as them.
"Where are we?" Zhao Rui asked, his voice cold, his gaze fixed on them.
"We don’t know either!"
The uninjured white-clad man quickly shook his head.
"In that case, you have no reason to exist!"
Zhao Rui’s eyes turned cold. A bright flame erupted in his hand, forming into a dragon’s head that stared ferociously at the two men.
"No, no, you can’t kill us! We may not know where we are, but we’ve patrolled the Outer Domain for a long time. We can definitely find our location on a star map."
The two retreated in a panic, their faces filled with terror. They knew how powerful Zhao Rui was and were afraid he would kill them at the slightest sign of displeasure.
"I can get out of here without you."
Zhao Rui waved his hand, unleashing his Dragon-Slaying Palm Force. As the massive dragon head closed the distance, it grew larger and larger. Its searing light shone upon the two men, like a sunset illuminating the evening clouds.
It dyed their white robes crimson.
"We know a lot of information about the outer regions! We can help you find habitable planets! We can help you hide your Star Realm..."
The two begged for their lives in a desperate scramble. The white-clad man with the broken wing, in particular, began to weep and wail.
"Oh? Is that so? In that case, open your minds!"
"Open our minds? You..."
"Hm?"
Zhao Rui snorted coldly. He instantly teleported behind them and reached for their heads.
How could the white-clad man with the intact wings allow Zhao Rui to grab his head? He flipped over, his wings flaring with brilliant light as they slashed toward Zhao Rui.
Zhao Rui sidestepped the attack. The Tribulation-Breaking Sword shot into the air, and streaks of sword light flashed past, slicing into the man’s wings with speed, precision, and ruthlessness.
The white-clad man cried out in pain and shot away, fleeing into the distance. Jade-green blood sprayed from the wounds on his wings, glowing faintly in the ink-black void of space.
Zhao Rui held the sword in his right hand and threw it with all his might. The longsword transformed into a streak of light, instantly piercing the man’s back and exiting through his chest. It then returned and plunged into his skull with a single strike.
A particle of light slowly emerged from the top of his head and vanished into the void in the blink of an eye.
Zhao Rui used the Great Hand Seal, intending to capture the particle, but it had appeared too suddenly and moved too quickly. He failed.
Without the particle of light, the white-clad man’s corpse floated in the air, becoming another object drifting through the cosmos.
Zhao Rui turned to look at the remaining white-clad man with the damaged wings, his eyes narrowing slightly.
"Don’t, don’t! That particle of light is useless. It’s the Light of our Faith, summoned by the power of angels. You can’t catch it, and you can’t keep it."
Seeing Zhao Rui gradually approaching, the white-clad man was scared out of his wits. He was terrified that Zhao Rui would kill him just to investigate the white particle of light.
"Open your mind!" Zhao Rui said coldly.
"Please, don’t kill me! I just became a Bright Angel! Rest assured, I won’t reveal anything about you or your Star Realm..."
Before he could finish, Zhao Rui’s palm was already on his head. He instantly activated the Heavenly Demon Technique, and an invisible Spirit Shock shot into the man’s sea of consciousness.
"Relax your mind, and I’ll spare your life!"
Zhao Rui’s voice boomed as his Divine Thought pierced the man’s sea of consciousness, reaching the very source of his awareness. The man’s mind automatically began to recall his most profound memories. In just a few moments, Zhao Rui had grasped his past and all his thoughts.
He was a Bright Angel, a Cosmic Patrol Envoy from the planet Kaidel in the Betelgeuse system of the Orion Arm.
Kaidel was a High Tier planet controlled by a ’God of Light’. Its inhabitants were similar in form to humans.
They worshiped the God of Light, who would bestow upon them Wings of Light, allowing them to fly through heaven and earth, making them seemingly omnipotent.
As for whether this God of Light was a true god, or some kind of higher life form, they did not know.
