I Can Replicate Martial Arts

Chapter 518 - 255: Metallic Giant Worm (Part 2)

"Something doesn’t feel right."

The intelligent Chi Hu keenly sensed the abnormality. He hastily used his Wind and Cloud Aspect, transforming into a cloud of cosmic dust and slowly drifting toward the Moon.

When it arrived above the Moon and looked down from afar, it was stunned.

A giant, reptile-like metal object was sprawled across the Moon’s surface.

And its little companions were nowhere to be seen.

Chi Hu approached cautiously. Before it had even moved a few hundred meters, countless scales on the mechanical behemoth’s back suddenly flared open, and beams of light shot toward it.

Chi Hu was shocked. It hadn’t expected the thing to be so sensitive and hurriedly dodged backward at top speed.

"What the hell is that thing?"

Completely bewildered, Chi Hu didn’t dare approach the Moon again. Instead, it circled the area before flying straight back to the Great Shang Land on Blue Star.

"You’re saying there’s a giant worm made of metal?"

Inside the Nanyu Royal Mansion, Zhao Rui’s brow was furrowed. Chi Hu’s description immediately made him think of the sky-faring mechanical behemoths from the Avengers of his past life.

Aliens?

Zhao Rui took the Tribulation-Breaking Sword from the wall, called out to Chi Hu, and leaped into the air.

"Shrink down a bit so I can ride you."

Zhao Rui looked at Chi Hu, who was larger than a mountain, and found the situation increasingly awkward.

With a look of extreme reluctance, Chi Hu shook its head and sprayed out a mouthful of viscous liquid.

"Hurry up! I know you can transform!"

Zhao Rui patted its head and pointed toward the Moon.

Chi Hu snorted a scorching breath from its nostrils, instantly forming a white cloud in midair.

As the cloud grew denser, Chi Hu’s body gradually shrank until it was a majestic tiger, only as tall as a fine steed.

Its wings beat, creating two whirlwinds. The cloud moved with the wind, leaving a long trail across the sky.

Delighted, Zhao Rui vaulted onto the tiger’s back and slapped its neck. Chi Hu let out a roar, then rode the clouds and flew toward outer space.

The starry sky was pitch black. There were only two kinds of light sources: those that produced their own light and heat, and those that reflected light from other sources.

But because space contains only extremely thin air and dust, there is no large-scale diffuse reflection.

Thus, in the starry sky, only individual celestial bodies emit or reflect light. The space around them is utterly black, like a few specks of chalk dust on a blackboard.

Zhao Rui didn’t like this empty world. No matter how vast the universe was, it couldn’t compare to the beauty of Blue Star—a world brimming with vibrant energy, the chirping of birds, the fragrance of flowers, and bustling crowds.

’So I’m just a Martial Artist, not a proper Cultivator. I can’t stand the loneliness!’

Zhao Rui laughed self-deprecatingly and stroked Chi Hu’s forehead, where the distinct pattern of the character for "King" was marked in its fur.

"Giddy-up!"

Zhao Rui squeezed his legs together. Chi Hu let out a disgruntled growl, then suddenly accelerated, turning into a streak of light as it rapidly approached the Moon’s vicinity.

The bright Moon reflected the sun’s light, hanging in the cosmos like a brilliant pearl.

Zhao Rui focused his True Qi into his eyes and gazed toward the Moon. He soon spotted the giant metal creature. It had a worm-like body covered in thick, armored plates that gleamed with a metallic luster. From a distance, it resembled a hill of iron ore.

"Let’s go check somewhere else first!"

Zhao Rui frowned and directed Chi Hu to head toward the Boundary Wall.

If there was a problem on the Moon, there were only two possibilities. One was the use of spatiotemporal methods, like a channel such as the Realm of Space that could connect two realms.

The other was that they came from the direction of the Boundary Wall, which meant that place had been breached.

This was what Zhao Rui feared most.

There’s a saying: what you think is a cage might actually be your sanctuary.

The central region of the Solar System, including Blue Star, was surrounded by the Boundary Wall. Rather than a confinement, it was a form of protection.

By the same token, wasn’t the disappearance of Spiritual Qi also a form of protection for ordinary people?

In the face of world-destroying power, humanity was as insignificant as weeds, and it was even more difficult for the common person to control their own destiny.

Without these Extraordinary powers, ordinary people could rely on knowledge, courage, and social skills to change their station in life.

With the Extraordinary, no matter how hard an ordinary person tried, they were nothing more than an insect that the powerful could crush at will.

Zhao Rui sped along and soon arrived at a position thousands of miles from the Boundary Wall.

He didn’t dare to approach rashly. Instead, he hid on a Stellar Meteorite and watched from a distance.

"Just as I thought!"

Zhao Rui’s heart trembled. In the distance, parked next to the Boundary Wall, was a colossal, unparalleled Spaceship.

This Spaceship was tens of thousands of meters long. Its massive hull flickered with various lights, and smaller ships constantly flew in and out.

It wasn’t just ships; Mecha Warriors also appeared in endless streams.

The colossal ship was not alone. Behind it were several other warships of the same size. And behind the warships, several giant steel worms, identical to the one on the Moon, were slithering through space, heading toward Mars.

"ROAR! What are those?"

Chi Hu shook its head in confusion. It couldn’t sense any life force from these giant worms.

"They are silicon-based lifeforms, also known as mechanical life. Of course, they might not have reached that stage yet."

Zhao Rui seemed to be muttering to himself, yet also speaking to Chi Hu.

"Let’s go!"

Zhao Rui slapped the tiger’s head. Man and beast turned and sped back toward Blue Star.

He had to deliver this news to the leaders of Blue Star’s various factions. Regardless of their affiliation, they all needed to prepare for battle.

As man and beast passed through the outer regions of Saturn, a faint Divine Soul Consciousness reached them from afar.

"It’s Viper! He’s not dead!"

Chi Hu was overjoyed and quickly flew in the direction the Divine Soul Consciousness had come from.

"Be careful. It could be a trap."

Zhao Rui leaped off Chi Hu’s back, putting some distance between them.

Soon, Chi Hu arrived on the surface of this moon of Saturn.

"You damn snake, where are you?"

Chi Hu let out a low growl, its Divine Soul extending outward to search the area.

"I’m over here! You stupid cat, what took you so long?"

A moment later, the Viper King Venerable’s Divine Soul Consciousness came through. Following its signal, Zhao Rui and Chi Hu located its physical form.

A reptile only five or six meters long was coiled in the shadow of a large rock, its head bowed as it licked its wounds.

"Where are the others? The stinking toad? The old turtle?"

Chi Hu asked in surprise.

"I don’t know. We fought and fled, scattering in different directions. Who had time to keep track? But I did see Toad fall toward Blue Star."

The Viper King Venerable said in a low voice.

"Let’s go. Back to Blue Star first!"

Seeing the situation, Zhao Rui conjured a True Qi Hand, scooped up the Viper King Venerable, then mounted Chi Hu and shot toward Blue Star as a streak of light.

「Qingcheng Mountain!」

Thousands of Martial Artists had gathered at the base of the mountain. Egged on by agitators, they waved flags and banners covered in slogans, shouting, "Expel Zhao Rui! Protect our Central State!"

The sheer scale of the protest was comparable to the Martial Artist riots back when Spiritual Qi first began its large-scale resurgence.

"Uncle Master Yun Hao, what should we do?"

On the mountain, the Daoist on duty looked down at the massive, dark sea of people below, unsure of what to do.

"What should we do?"

Yun Hao gave his sword a flourish, and a bolt of lightning streaked across the blade.

"It’s not like we haven’t done this before. We just beat them again."

A cold sneer touched Yun Hao’s lips as he mocked them inwardly,

’Do they really think Zhao Rui is some pushover they can just walk all over!’

Even as the thought crossed his mind, the sky suddenly darkened. A massive tiger, its body a thousand meters long, flashed into existence high above.

An immense pressure bore down on the boisterous, clamoring protesters below, forcefully crushing them.

The crowd was in the middle of shouting and grandstanding when they suddenly felt a tremendous force wash over them. Their bodies involuntarily buckled, dropping them to their knees before they collapsed flat on the ground.

The pressure was so powerful that they couldn’t lift their limbs, leaving them to lie helplessly on the ground with expressions of pure terror.

The crowd was already large and dense. Now that everyone was forced to the ground, some people were pinned beneath two others. If not for their bodies as Martial Artists, they would have suffocated to death long ago.

"What’s happening?"

"I can’t move."

"This... Help! Is anyone there?"

"Quick, call the Patrol!"

Though they couldn’t move, nothing stopped them from shouting. This time, however, their clamor was laced with terror and unease.

Unfortunately, their shouts were useless, and no one paid them any mind.

After a short while, a light rain suddenly began to fall, drizzling down as it drifted from the east end of the crowd to the west.

"Why does it reek of piss!"

"BLECH, BLECH! Why does this rain smell so foul!"

In midair, a wicked grin spread across Chi Hu’s face. It wagged its tail smugly and sent a telepathic message, "Consider yourselves lucky. This king’s piss is a potent tonic. You should drink some more!"
