Chapter 476 - 234: What Is That? (2)
Just then, a handsome man beside them, who wore an earring and light makeup, suddenly scoffed and spoke to the group.
Beside him were five or six companions, both men and women, all of them attractive and stylishly dressed youths.
"My brother isn’t some entertainer. It’s perfectly normal that you don’t recognize him."
Zhao Ke huffed and retorted.
"Entertainers?"
"Haha!"
The man with the earring glanced mockingly at his companions, then turned back to Zhao Ke.
"Every single person in the Beast Hunting event earned their place with actual combat achievements. Every single rank here is soaked in the blood of Exotic Beasts, yet you call them entertainers."
"Kid, are you looking for a beating?!"
The man with the earring shot to his feet and started to move toward Zhao Ke.
Seeing this, Cao Yingcai flashed between them. With a deft push of her Jade Hand Palm, she sent the man back to where he started.
"A High-tier Grandmaster?"
The man with the earring froze, holding up a hand to stop his companions who had started to rise. He looked at Zhao Ke and said, "So you’re just a freeloader, kid. Relying on a woman, huh? No wonder you talk so big."
"Who said that? I..."
Zhao Ke, his face filled with indignation, started to get up but was held back by Cao Yingcai’s hand.
"Sit down!"
Just then, Zhao Xin walked over, pulled Zhao Ke back, and said, "Don’t make trouble for Big Brother."
At this, Zhao Ke finally calmed down and sat back in his seat, still fuming.
"We’re just watching a competition. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Gentlemen, our paths will cross again."
Zhao Xin formed his fingers into a sword-like point and struck the air three times. Three streaks of Sword Qi flashed into existence, striking a distant wall and leaving three small craters.
This display of Sword Qi made the faces of the opposing group sink.
The man with the earring said nothing, simply cupped his fists in a brief salute, and sat back down with his companions, clearly choosing to let the matter drop.
After all, with two Grandmaster Realm experts on the other side, it was obvious they weren’t to be trifled with.
After the brief interlude, everyone turned their attention back to the large screen in the distance.
The screen showed that Young Master Muyang’s ship had arrived at its designated location, over five hundred nautical miles from shore.
The Eight-Clawed Beast was said to frequent this area periodically to prey on a species of small, schooling fish.
The flesh of these fish was delicate and sweet, making them a favorite of the Eight-Clawed Beast.
"The target area is just ahead. The Eight-Clawed Beast is over two hundred meters long, and its longest tentacles are said to exceed three hundred meters. We’d better keep our distance."
The various cruise ships and speedboats that had followed Young Master Muyang stopped or retreated to a safe distance.
Soon, for miles around, only Young Master Muyang’s ship remained, bobbing on the ocean surface.
"Young Master, radar shows a large target approaching. We suspect it’s the Eight-Clawed Beast."
On the ship, a crew member watched the radar and reported to Young Master Muyang.
"It got here fast enough."
Young Master Muyang gestured with his hand, and a distant Judge’s Pen flew into his grasp.
"Watch me capture this monster!"
With that, his figure blurred. He leaped from the ship and came to a halt, floating more than twenty meters in the air, staring motionlessly at the distant sea.
He could already feel a terrifying presence racing toward him at incredible speed.
"Whoa, it’s finally starting!"
"The odds just shot up to 20 to 1!"
"This is going to be a great show. If he wins this, he’ll be the number one expert in the Martial Dao."
"Number one? I doubt it. I heard many Sects have Domain Realm masters. They’re the real top-level power."
"What Domain Realm? I’ve never seen one. It’s all just rumors. If they existed, why wouldn’t they come out and put on a show?"
"Exactly. It’s just the Sects putting on a brave face to sing their own praises."
"I still think Young Master Muyang is the best under heaven. At least he has the guts to come out and fight where we can all see him."
As the Exotic Beast drew closer, the crowd on the coastal viewing platforms erupted into discussion.
Some guessed the outcome, others debated whose Martial Arts were superior, but most of the noise was just cheering.
SPLASH!
The clamor didn’t last long. As a colossal, octopus-like Exotic Beast—larger than a football field—partially emerged on the screen, the entire venue fell silent.
A brief silence was followed by a deafening roar of astonishment.
"It’s huge!"
"What a massive Exotic Beast! It must be three hundred meters long, right?"
The crowd’s exclamations died down, and as the camera focused on Young Master Muyang floating in the air, silence fell once more.
Because Young Master Muyang had made his move.
With his hands at his sides, his figure blurred, and a giant ape Dharma Aspect fully two hundred meters tall materialized behind him.
The moment the giant ape appeared, it plunged from the sky, charging directly at the Eight-Clawed Beast half-submerged in the sea.
The Eight-Clawed Beast had been roaming leisurely, foraging as it went. When it suddenly sensed a threat, it brandished its tentacles, revealing hideous, terrifying suckers lined with sharp fangs.
The giant ape swung its arm. The Judge’s Pen in its hand, initially the size of an embroidery needle, grew as it moved, transforming into an Iron Awl over a hundred meters long that it thrust toward the Eight-Clawed Beast.
The Eight-Clawed Beast shot out its tentacles, rapidly ensnaring the giant ape and the Iron Awl in its hand.
"Oh no, the giant ape is trapped! What’s he going to do?"
The spectators—whether on-site, on the coast, or watching the livestream—all broke into a cold sweat.
"You all seriously underestimate a High-level Dharma Master."
Someone scoffed, dismissing their overreaction.
"A True Dharma Master has long transcended the Realm of Illusion and Reality. They have plenty of tricks up their sleeves."
"Just you wait and see!"
No sooner had the words been spoken than the giant ape abruptly vanished. In the blink of an eye, it reappeared right next to the Eight-Clawed Beast.
This time, it was even closer.
The octopus beast, enraged, suddenly shot jets of water from its body. The jets multiplied, forming a dense curtain of water that surrounded it.
With this wall of water in place, Young Master Muyang could no longer use a True Dharma Master’s Unity of Illusion and Reality to gain an advantage with Shift Form and Position.
’I underestimated you!’
A smile touched Young Master Muyang’s lips as he charged fearlessly toward the Eight-Clawed Beast.
This time, he didn’t manifest a complete True Dharma Body. Instead, he used partial materializations, augmenting his legs or fists.
Then, taking advantage of his smaller form, he launched a surprise attack, breaking into the Eight-Clawed Beast’s watery "Domain."
The ensuing battle between man and beast was tremendous, churning the sea into a maelstrom and throwing the surrounding True Qi into chaos.
The intense ionization caused by the clashing True Qi made the camera feed CRACKLE and fill with static.
The footage became choppy and extremely unstable.
"The True Qi interference is intense. Even with technologically upgraded cameras, the power of these two combatants is just too overwhelming."
At the commentary desk, an invited guest was analyzing the battle.
"We’ve switched to the high-power, anti-interference signal. That’s much better."
"Wait, what is that?"
As the camera panned by, one of the guests shouted in alarm, completely forgetting he was on a live webcast.
Hearing his voice, everyone looked at the screen in confusion. The man had hurried over to the backdrop behind him and was telling the director to zoom in.
As the image magnified, the man pointed to a spot in the upper-right corner, which showed a patch of sky from the live feed.
A small, dark speck was there, moving quickly along a winding path.
"What’s the big deal? It’s probably just a pixel artifact."
"It’s probably a bird or a dark cloud. You’re making a mountain out of a molehill."
The other guests shook their heads, thinking he was just grandstanding for attention.
"No, I’m not mistaken. Look at its trajectory. Isn’t it heading toward Young Master Muyang’s location?"
"You’re overreacting. So what do you think it is? It can’t be a Spaceship, can it?"
"Whatever it is, for us to be able to see it from this far away... it must be enormous."
His words gave the others a moment’s pause, but they quickly shook their heads again, clearly uninterested in the topic.
It wasn’t just the commentators; viewers watching the feed began expressing their displeasure in the comments.
"Get lost, old geezer! We want to see the live fight, not listen to your nonsense!"
"Who cares what it is? Change the shot! I want to see our Young Master!"
Amid the public outcry, the host could only smile and say to the man:
"Professor Zhang, let’s table this topic for now and get back to the two combatants."
With that, the host signaled the director to cut back to the main feed.
Soon, the screen once again showed Young Master Muyang locked in battle with the Eight-Clawed Beast.
