Chapter 598 - 341: Celestial Demon Scripture (Part 2)
In an instant, Qin Yuesheng moved.
He unfolded his eight-arm state, swiftly retrieving his various Divine Soldiers from the Sumeru Bag. With one step, he instantly activated the Earth-shaking Heavenly Strike, charging towards Li Mu with a speed imperceptible to the naked eye.
To become a Grandmaster is no ordinary feat; even though Li Mu borrowed the power of the great changes in heaven and earth, he was still not to be underestimated.
As Qin Yuesheng launched his attack, Li Mu also sprang into action.
"Conjure demonic forces, evil spirits unleash!"
Li Mu’s eyes blazed with a crimson light, as he mumbled in an obscure chant. Suddenly, a blood-red light burst forth in the sky, tearing open a rift in the pitch-black mist, from which emerged a large six-fingered hand covered in warts, reaching towards Qin Yuesheng.
Compared to this six-fingered giant hand, the specters previously conjured by Li Mu were nothing against the blazing sun. Qin Yuesheng instantly felt a fear of imminent death—this hand was no ordinary object.
"Suppress!" Li Mu shouted violently, as an invisible wave of energy surged down from the hand, pinning Qin Yuesheng to the spot.
The pressure was like a hundred thousand pounds of iron, forcing Qin Yuesheng to withstand it with sheer strength, evasion was impossible.
Bang!
The moment his feet hit the ground, a giant web-like crater formed beneath him.
With the emergence of the hand, black demonic patterns appeared on Li Mu’s face, extending from beneath his eyes to his chin, then curling under his earlobes, showing signs of further expansion—unknown what sinister technique this was.
Crack, crack, crack!
The bones in Qin Yuesheng’s entire body creaked under the pressure; if not for his extraordinary strength, he might have already been crushed into pulp by that hand.
Standing atop the hand, Li Mu was surprised to see Qin Yuesheng still able to resist.
In the middle age of Li’s ancestor, he had a peculiar encounter. After losing three thousand seven elite soldiers in the excavation of a previous dynasty’s imperial tomb, they reached the tomb owner’s coffin. Upon opening it, they obtained a mysterious ancient text, named the "Celestial Demon Scripture."
Only half of the book remained, filled with grotesque and terrifying Secret Techniques. Back in those days, despite the founding ministers’ sacrificial pleas, the Li Taizu publicly burned the Celestial Demon Scripture. Yet, secretly, he had already commissioned a copy for study.
Given Li Taizu’s nature, the cruel power of the techniques in the Celestial Demon Scripture could not be wasted. If Li’s descendants could master them, it would ensure the enduring reign of the Great Tang dynasty, something the imperial family eagerly desired.
Thus, the Celestial Demon Scripture was secretly passed down, always in the hands of the Li family member serving as the Seven-Star Supervisory General Manager.
There was a rule within the Li family: the one with the highest martial power could not be the emperor, but must devote themselves wholly to cultivation, serving as the pillar of Li’s reign.
Aside from this person, another family member would become emperor.
Power-wise, there was little difference between the Seven-Star Supervisory General Manager and the emperor.
Yet, Li Mu never expected that after the last Grandmaster General Manager passed, the Li dynasty would lack a Grandmaster’s presence, allowing the eunuch faction led by Qingjiusui to infiltrate the imperial city, rooting themselves deeply and taking control of the Great Tang with the Ten Regular Attendants, turning the emperor into a puppet.
Faced with this, Li Mu was naturally unable to bear it, but he was powerless. As long as he wasn’t a Grandmaster, he couldn’t confront Qingjiusui directly. So, over the years, watching the Ten Regular Attendants’ arrogance, he could only endure in anger, unable to act against the eunuch faction.
The Celestial Demon Scripture exacted a hefty toll, unbearable for non-grandmasters. Seeing Qingjiusui just depart, only for Qin Yuesheng to step in, Li Mu knew that leaving it unchecked might really doom the Li clan of Great Tang.
Having become a Grandmaster, Li Mu was confident. He resolved to use the sinister arts of the Celestial Demon Scripture to annihilate Qin Yuesheng.
"The power of the Celestial Demon Palm is beyond my imagination. This person persisting for so long is indeed a peerless master, but to me, he’s a threat that must be eliminated." Li Mu bit his hand until it bled, and drops of black blood seeped from the wound, all falling onto the Celestial Demon Palm.
Sizzle, sizzle, sizzle!
The black blood on the Celestial Demon Palm sparked like oil meeting a scorching iron, emitting a strange sizzling sound.
The Celestial Demon Palm’s power surged, catching Qin Yuesheng off guard and pressing him entirely onto the ground.
Boom!
The entirety of Chang’an seemed to tremble at this moment, with numerous roof tiles sliding off and shattering on the streets below.
Li Mu smirked silently. Although Qin Yuesheng became a Grandmaster before him, supplemented by the Celestial Demon Scripture, the opponent was still no match.
As Li Mu relaxed his guard, a sudden tiger roar echoed. He instinctively turned and saw an odd mystical tiger, out of nowhere, swiping a paw at him. Li Mu quickly dodged, evading the tiger’s paw.
"Within Chang’an, all specters heed my command; where did this mystical tiger come from?" Li Mu wondered.
Ah Hu missed with the first strike and pursued vigorously. Though Li Mu wasn’t a match for Qin Yuesheng, he couldn’t possibly lose to a mystical tiger. He coldly shouted and struck with a punch, aiming directly at Ah Hu’s face.
The punch, a true Grandmaster attack, met Ah Hu’s forehead. Though the skull cracked instantly, thanks to the Divine Soldier’s body being resilient enough, otherwise, Li Mu’s blow could have shattered Ah Hu’s brain completely.
With the Celestial Demon Palm still present, its strain on Li Mu’s body was immense. If he couldn’t quickly recall it, he might not withstand the strain much longer and face bodily collapse.
Knowing this mystical tiger wasn’t a real threat, Li Mu resolved first to retrieve the Celestial Demon Palm before dealing with other matters.
However, at that moment, his connection with the Celestial Demon Palm abruptly severed.
It wasn’t just a disconnection; in Li Mu’s sight, the enormous Celestial Demon Palm from the sky was silently vanishing, disappearing entirely in an instant.
Vanished without a trace.
"Pfft!" Due to the disappearance of the Celestial Demon Palm, Li Mu suffered a certain backlash, involuntarily spitting out fresh blood. Yet he was beyond caring about this, instead staring incredulously at where the Celestial Demon Palm vanished.
"How can it be?! How is this possible!" Li Mu exclaimed in shock.
Where the Celestial Demon Palm vanished, Qin Yuesheng was slowly rising from the ground, clutching his head, seemingly unharmed.
"Looks like the decomposition function finally proved useful at a critical moment," Qin Yuesheng muttered.
Though the origin of the Celestial Demon Palm was unknown, ultimately it couldn’t escape being decomposed. Despite not having a high success rate, Qin Yuesheng’s persistent attempts led to success, causing the Palm to vanish instantly and granting him several benefits.
In Li Mu’s astonished gaze, Qin Yuesheng leaped forth, "Ah Hu!"
Ah Hu transformed into the Fierce Evil Tiger Sword, caught by Qin Yuesheng, who unleashed all his Divine Skills toward Li Mu.
A Grandmaster wielding multiple Divine Skills exuded a terrifying aura, sending Li Mu into a crisis of impending death. Qin Yuesheng already locked onto his qi, leaving no chance for escape.
Li Mu had no choice but to muster all his defensive Divine Skills to withstand Qin Yuesheng’s fiercest assault.
Boom!!!
A surge of energy shot skywards, rocking all of Chang’an with a thunderous roar.
Li Mu’s arms shattered instantly, his entire chest caved in.
Even a Grandmaster’s body couldn’t withstand Qin Yuesheng’s tempestuous, explosive attack.
