Chapter 623 - 370: Wild Dance of the Demons (Part 2)
The old fox blinked his unsettlingly large eyes a few times and immediately understood. "I understand, I understand!"
He then turned and shouted in a squeaky, affected voice, "Xiu’er, get that litter of Brocade-Furred Mice over here to serve this master!"
A litter!?
Before Zou Feng could even process what "a litter" meant, seven white-furred rat spirits suddenly scurried out from some unknown corner nearby.
Even after taking human form, these white-furred rat spirits retained the petite and delicate features of "little white mice," none of them taller than five feet.
They all had sweet, adorable faces and chattered incessantly as they ran.
"Senior, what do you think? Is this litter of rat spirits to your liking?" the old fox asked with a fawning smile.
In truth, there was no need to ask. The corners of Zhao Feixiong’s mouth were stretched nearly to his ears.
"They’re alright, I suppose!"
The old fox then turned back to Zou Feng. "And this Senior’s preference is..."
Before Zou Feng could answer, Zhao Feixiong cut in, "Him? Oh... he’s into feet!"
Zou Feng wanted to object, but then he thought about Su Qingyu, who followed him around barefoot every day. Everyone had seen it, so it was only natural for them to get the wrong idea.
Besides, there was no point in acting prudish in a place like this, so he couldn’t be bothered to explain.
"Into feet? That’s easy!"
With that, the old fox turned his head again and bellowed, "Get Cai Zuz’Er over here!"
The name clearly pointed to a Spider Spirit, but Zou Feng wasn’t surprised in the least. After all, spiders have many legs.
’But if they had a centipede spirit, wouldn’t that be even more thrilling?’
Cai Zuz’Er darted out quickly, but contrary to Zou Feng’s expectations, she didn’t display eight legs. Instead, she approached gracefully in a fully realized human form.
The old fox keenly sensed the doubt in Zou Feng’s eyes and took the initiative to explain, "Our place is a bit cramped. If she brought all her legs out, it’d be inconvenient for Cai Zuz’Er to walk, and she might disturb the other guests..."
"Once you’re back in the room, I guarantee all eight legs will come out. If she’s even one leg short, it’s on the house!"
In truth, Zou Feng couldn’t care less about anything the old fox was saying.
Though he appeared no different from the other patrons, he was constantly observing his surroundings for any suspicious details.
But even now, Zou Feng had yet to find a single trace of anything.
’The Tribulation Cultivators from the Ninefold Celestial Court and the Yama Underworld are almost all from the Human Race. How are they hiding in a place teeming with members of the Demon Race?’
’Are they posing as guests? Or as workers?’
’Or could it be that there’s a special Alternate Space hidden within the Hundred Demons Hundred Flavors?!’
He only suspected this because he had previously been able to sense the poison he’d administered to that Female Celestial Soldier, confirming her arrival at this location.
However, shortly after he entered the Hundred Demons Hundred Flavors himself, that connection had been completely severed.
So, either there was some Array on the premises that happened to interfere with his senses, or there was a hidden Alternate Space.
"Junior Brother, how about we have a drink together first?" Zhao Feixiong said, clapping Zou Feng on the shoulder.
Since they were both here undercover, he naturally wouldn’t use Zou Feng’s name.
Zou Feng had no desire to be alone in a room with Cai Zuz’Er to begin with, so he readily agreed.
Cai Zuz’Er, perceptive as ever, saw that Zou Feng had no intention of "returning the merchandise." She quickly sidled up to him, clinging to him intimately.
She was, of course, clinging to him with feet that seemed almost bonelessly supple.
On the second floor, the two were led into a semi-open private booth. From their seats at the edge, they had a clear view of the performances in the main hall below.
They had barely sat down when a dazzling array of food and wine was placed on their table.
This made Zou Feng frown slightly. ’For the food to arrive this quickly, it has to be pre-made.’
As the music swelled, the Hundred Demons Hundred Flavors brothel truly got down to business.
On the stage in the center of the main hall, a series of dazzling, high-energy performances began.
Numerous never-before-seen members of the Demon Race took the stage, putting on all sorts of bizarre, cringeworthy performances.
Some of the acts were so extreme that even Zou Feng felt uncomfortable.
Meanwhile, in the private booth, Cai Zuz’Er and the Brocade-Furred Mice were exceptionally attentive, never allowing for a dull moment.
Cai Zuz’Er, in particular, keenly sensed Zou Feng’s discomfort and did everything she could to distract and please him.
But while Zou Feng appeared to be enjoying the debauchery, he was secretly still trying to find any trace of the Tribulation Cultivators.
Unfortunately, even after several rounds of drinks, he had found nothing.
’It seems I won’t find anything out in the open,’ Zou Feng thought. ’I’ll have to wait until we’re back in the room. Then I’ll use the Great Universal Hand to bewitch Cai Zuz’Er and see if this Spider Spirit knows anything.’
At this thought, Zou Feng finally focused his attention on Cai Zuz’Er.
And as he focused on the woman beside him, Zou Feng finally discovered the most suspicious thing he had encountered so far.
He never would have imagined that Cai Zuz’Er and the Brocade-Furred Mice were, themselves, highly suspicious...
Upon closer observation, Zou Feng was surprised to discover that Cai Zuz’Er’s power was quite impressive.
It wouldn’t be long before she established her Dao Foundation—and an Earth-rank one or higher, at that.
’Would a Demon Cultivator of her caliber truly be willing to serve men in such a filthy brothel?!’
And those seven Brocade-Furred Mice—while not as powerful as Cai Zuz’Er, they didn’t seem like your run-of-the-mill demons either.
’This Hundred Demons Hundred Flavors brothel is truly full of hidden masters...’
Although he had finally found something, Zou Feng remained impassive. This alone wasn’t necessarily enough to flush out the Tribulation Cultivators from the Yama Underworld and the Ninefold Celestial Court.
’I’ll have to wait until it’s late and interrogate Cai Zuz’Er alone.’
The revelry continued, the atmosphere in the brothel growing more feverish. Many drunken patrons couldn’t wait to take their companions to a room and started putting on a show right where they were.
As if it were contagious, other patrons began to follow suit.
In an instant, the scene devolved into utter pandemonium.
Zhao Feixiong was also thoroughly drunk, but he hadn’t completely lost control and still had the sense to get up and head for his room.
"Junior... Junior Brother... I’ll be... taking my... leave then!"
Mumbling drunkenly, Zhao Feixiong staggered toward the room that had been prepared for him.
He was drunk, of course, because the Spirit Wine was exceptionally potent. Besides, he was having the time of his life and had no desire to fight the intoxication.
Zou Feng also felt it was time for Cai Zuz’Er to confess everything, so he stood up as well.
But as soon as he stood, he sensed a strange change come over the entire brothel.
Zou Feng was able to perceive this for two reasons. First, he cultivated the Drunken Immortal Moon Chasing Step, which made it difficult for him to get truly drunk.
And second, his Great Universal Hand had begun to react.
Back when he was just a Martial Artist in Great Yan, Zou Feng had made a point of visiting many extreme brothels to watch their performances, gathering material for his Visualization and enhancing its effects through firsthand experience.
So, as he continued to carefully extend his senses, he discovered that the intense emotions generated by the patrons of the Hundred Demons Hundred Flavors seemed to have been deliberately provoked.
These patrons were, for the most part, Cultivators. The Power of Emotion they generated when deliberately provoked could, with the aid of a corresponding Secret Skill, truly be harnessed.
Zou Feng estimated that if he could absorb all this Power of Emotion himself, a single palm strike from his Great Universal Hand could likely level one-third of the entire Jade Dragon Marketplace.
Of course, this was merely a theoretical estimate. In practice, it was impossible—at least for now. Zou Feng had no method of absorbing such a vast amount of the Power of Emotion.
But just because he couldn’t do it didn’t mean someone else couldn’t...
Zou Feng was now certain that this deliberately provoked Power of Emotion was slowly but covertly gathering in one place, being absorbed by some unknown thing.
No wonder he hadn’t sensed it earlier. The atmosphere hadn’t reached its peak. It was only now, when the patrons were thoroughly drunk and their defenses lowered by the revelry, that this was happening.
And so, whatever was absorbing the Power of Emotion had finally begun the process.
The next moment, Zou Feng feigned drunkenness, stumbling against the second-floor railing and using the opportunity to gaze down below.
’Who, or what Magical Treasure, is absorbing all this Power of Emotion!’
Pushing the Heart Skill of his Great Universal Hand to its absolute limit, Zou Feng quickly spotted the anomaly.
What met his eyes was a large tail, wagging so fast it looked like it was powered by an electric motor.
