Chapter 786 - 146: Submission
"Captain, we have already encircled them."
On the "Nightwalker," a crew member jogged to the captain’s cabin to report.
The captain of the "Nightwalker," David, was a creature with an octopus-like face and a massive, human-like body.
Strictly speaking, he and Seafarer Fan Pique were supposed to be of the same species, though one was anthropomorphized while the other retained its original form.
Listening to the report, the tightly-packed octopus tentacles on his face slowly writhed and curled outward.
"Hmm," David nodded heavily, "Daring to attack my crew on the ’Nightwalker,’ even destroying the entire Ilamut Port."
"I want to see what kind of godly being this is!"
The warship "Nightwalker" is a super large vessel with its main body crafted from ironwood. Ironwood is known for being heavy, large, and abundant.
This makes it one of the most popular types of wood for building warships.
Due to its size and weight, ships made from ironwood tend to sail more slowly.
Yet they can remain stable in rough seas, and it’s rare for waves to capsize them.
The "Nightwalker" is the flagship, followed by over a dozen other warships.
As a fleet dominating this sea area, such a configuration is considered standard.
Under Captain David’s command, the other warships also advanced toward the ruins of Ilamut Port.
On the small wooden boat near the ruins of Ilamut Port, Seafarer Fan Pique’s eight tentacles twisted nervously.
"What should we do? We’re surrounded." He repeated what he had just said.
Jian Beifang glanced at him.
"As an NPC, your courage is dwindling."
"Encircled? Isn’t that a good thing?"
As he spoke, he didn’t show any concern despite the dozen warships appearing around him; instead, his smirk widened.
"Perfect timing, I still need a ship, and now one is being delivered to me, how lucky."
Jian Beifang’s words calmed Seafarer Fan Pique down.
Yes, he almost forgot, the man beside him is Jian Beifang!
A man who, even in the Central Sea Area, can become a major force’s nightmare, a true ruler of the sea!
"But, right now you lack a ship, and on Water Planet, without a ship, you can’t use your abilities..."
"Who said I don’t have a ship?" Jian Beifang suddenly interrupted him.
He tapped his boot on the surface beneath him.
A ship, isn’t it right here?
Who said a small wooden boat isn’t a ship?
So, in Fan Pique’s bewildered gaze, his ship "shifted ownership."
Jian Beifang’s tall and imposing figure stood at the bow of the small wooden boat.
His aura released wildly; in this moment, it was as if beneath his feet wasn’t a small wooden boat but the head of an ancient deep-sea beast.
"Ready to embrace fear?"
Jian Beifang said as his words hung in the air.
At his feet, a thick layer of frost began to bloom.
Like an ice flower in full bloom.
In the next second, the surface of the sea around the small wooden boat began to freeze, and in the blink of an eye, the previously turbulent waves transformed into an icy world.
The warships belonging to the "Nightwalker" fleet hadn’t yet understood what was happening, realizing only that their ships were immobilized.
The surrounding sea had turned into a thick layer of ice, leaving everyone bewildered.
"What’s happening?"
"What’s going on? Why is the sea frozen?"
"Fire, open fire, blast apart the ice!"
In an instant, the warships descended into chaos.
Some fired in panic, cannonballs hit the ice creating flying shards, even creating a sunken hole.
Yet the ice remained unbroken.
Moreover, the icy cold continued to spread upwards, as cold white frost began to cover the hulls of the warships.
Quickly, a warship was entirely covered in frost, becoming an ice sculpture.
Including the crew onboard!
This scene was taken in by the captain of the "Nightwalker," David.
His pupils shrank suddenly.
As a qualified captain, knowledge of Water Planet’s history was essential for navigation.
An ability that can freeze the sea existed in Water Planet’s history, but it belonged to only one person.
And that person, who ultimately perished in the Central Sea Area, became an eternal legend.
An ability only found in legend, how could it appear here?!
This was David’s first thought.
Then he saw a blurred figure appear at the end of the frozen sea.
He wore a wide-brimmed hat, with golden edges and a luxurious feather tilted across.
He dressed in a coat and boots, his pace slow on the ice.
But his image became increasingly clear to David.
When the chilly world’s figure overlapped with someone from his memory, David’s soul quivered.
Almost instantly, he activated his captain’s talent ability.
The entire "Nightwalker" ship, including its crew, turned transparent in an instant, disappearing into air.
This was David’s captain talent, "Night Travel."
However, despite this, the "Nightwalker" couldn’t escape disaster.
It merely vanished, yet on the frozen sea, it couldn’t move, remaining in place.
Such invisibility is pure self-deception.
David wanted to move, but suddenly found his feet numb.
Looking down, his feet were encased in ice, and the white freezing air continued up his legs.
Until it enveloped his whole body.
Thus, the "Nightwalker" became a completely transparent air ice sculpture.
"It’s over..."
Frozen into an ice sculpture, in his blurred consciousness, David thought despairingly.
On the verge of death, as his body temperature seemed to return incrementally.
Whether it was a final flash before dying, he didn’t know.
At this moment, a man’s relaxed voice echoed in David’s ear.
"Night Travel? Your ability is quite nice."
"Coincidentally, my ship could use a few decent crew members."
"How about being my first mate temporarily?"
David opened his eyes, in a daze, seeing his speaker’s appearance clearly, abruptly became sober.
The phrase "my ship" pierced him deeply, a feeling like his beloved following another!
Yet reason compelled David to bow his head.
The octopus tentacles on his face with leftover ice crystals slowly wriggled, he knelt with one knee to the terrifying man before him.
David placed his right hand on his left shoulder, speaking deferentially:
"Willing to serve you."
"Mighty General Beifang."
