I Decided to Cook Because the Losing Potion Was Soy Sauce

Off topic* In Japan - Nana's Perspective 3

One day, what's called a rug? What's called a rug? It was thrown away in the in the trash.

What? A body wrapped up like Cleopatra.

It's not true. I know it's a bad idea, but the carpet in a dog's cage gets dirty very easily. Food and water spills. So I was tempted to take the rug if it was still usable and opened it up.

Oh, they say you can't take trash with you. I mean, it's not even about the murder, it's turned into a story about you stealing trash.

'No, so don't get me started on the story. I opened it up and I thought I'd be lucky to find a beautiful one that's still totally useful: ......

But?

I had it. Blood.

Blood? Are you sure you're not mistaken?

'No, I think that color is blood. I mean, if it's still clean enough and usable, why not remove it if it's a stain that can be removed? It's a hell of a lot to throw away. That was blood...... and they must have tried to destroy the evidence at the scene of the murder.

Nana thought she was a very presumptuous person to think it was a murder just because a carpet with a bloodstain on it was thrown away. I can't believe you'd even think about moving in with that .......

When the clock struck 1:04 p.m., Nana lifted her cup of completely melted ice and gulped down the remaining coffee.

'Oh come on, isn't that a bit of a leap to say there was a murder on its own? I thought it wouldn't be a murder case if there wasn't a body to begin with?

Well, I don't think it's a murder case just because I see blood on your carpet. But the guy who took out the trash has a missing wife.

Suddenly, the businessman who had been listening to the conversation lets out a laugh.

'Isn't it just because your wife ran off with you? Even the carpet wasn't blood, it wasn't blood, it was just that your wife left and you spilled some ketchup or liquor on it and threw it away because you couldn't get rid of it. Maybe he just threw away his wife's prized rug in spite of himself being abandoned.

'Hmmm, I see, if you say so ....... I think you're overthinking it...was it ......?

Nana stands up from her seat with the tray.

She throws the trash into the trash can and places the tray on top of the trash can. She turns around and sees that the clock hands are at 1:10pm.

Today, my best friend did not show up.

I'll have to go over to his house on my next day off.

Write down the address on the New Year's card. I'll have to look up the location online.
