With Luke not coming back, I celebrated my engagement day.

The engagement ceremony takes place by opening the large hall of the castle. Early in the morning, by the hands of the maids, including Lotte, I carefully applied makeup and changed into dresses prepared for this day.

White dresses are basically only worn during debutantes and weddings.

I chose a light pink colour because the colour of the dress I would wear to the engagement ceremony is free.

A color that is not red but reminiscent of Al's eyes. It's a very similar color to the brooch, which is a testament to the engagement I got from him. That brooch, but not at my disposal right now. He said he was going to use it at the engagement ceremony, and he deposited it with Al a few days ago. Instead I put on the bracelet Al gave me for my birthday, but I kind of didn't mind not having the brooch I wore every day.

The dress is designed with a wide open chest. The necklace of a large diamond looks beautiful.

The skirt is layered with many thin pieces of fabric, quite chunky. He had a big ribbon on his hips and he was adorable. The fabric is finely embroidered with gold thread, glittering.

Hair was half-upped and fresh flowers were adorned instead of hair decorations.

"Ma'am, it's beautiful."

Lotte, who sees me all set and done, says inadvertently. The other maids looked like they had done it.

"Thanks"

I would have liked Luke to have seen it too, if possible, but I wouldn't be able to talk to him in a neighboring country.

I hoped you'd be back soon, but I rode the carriage with my father, who picked me up.

My father is dressed today, too. My father goes with me, but my brother or mother, who just joins me, about an hour ago, headed to the castle first.

The carriage arrives at the castle. The door was opened with respect. It had a bright red carpet on it and made me feel that today was a special day.

"Lili. Are you ready for your heart?

"Yes, Father"

Get off the carriage talap in my father's escort. Two people came this way to guide us to the Great Hall. I look at one of them, and I'm stunned.

"Huh...?

Incredibly, what was there was Luke in black dress.

The other, Prince Wilfred. This one didn't surprise me because I predicted it, but I was feeling unspeakably surprised that Luke was here.

"Huh... why?

"So you said you'd be back soon, right? Lady."

I accidentally put my hands on my cheek. Looking at me, Luke laughed like he was in trouble.

Prince Wilfred exhales in a sight like this.

"This guy went to the Grand Duke of Soiree and he hung up and came back. Let it go now, let it go now."

"Luke? Did you say that?

It blinks too many eyes of surprise. Luke nodded flatly.

"Yeah. I'm sorry I ever made you feel unhappy. From today on, I will think of anything. Because what a joke you were talking about. By the way, you made fun of my job. There's no need for you to fu anywhere. It's not the job my grandson does. Instead, remember you use people. Was it? I see, I've decided that this is a fight being sold. Negotiations are broken because I made a fool of myself for the work I'm doing with my pride. I've made it clear that I'm not going to live as your grandson, and I've turned."

"So this guy is back in the kingdom of Roseblade. I came straight across the border to the castle and said, 'As a grandson I fulfilled my stepfather. I don't have any more complaints. I don't want you to respond to my surrender again,' I made it clear to my father.... That's crazy. It was supposed to be your path to return gloriously as Grand Duke Soiree's grandson."

"Please don't decide my path on your own. I can't afford to do anything else but take care of my daughter."

"If Grand Duke Soiree finds us, he's a nobleman at first sight, too, isn't he?

"So? It was the lady who kept me alive, not my grandfather who just met me once. Instead, you wanted me not to look inside you all of a sudden for letting you go without ever looking into it. There should have been as many opportunities to find out. You didn't do it, but you won't be able to squeeze out later."

Prince Wilfred tells Luke, who also said the insult to the dew, with his convulsed face.

"Wow... full poison tongue character. That's right. That's what Luke was like... he smashed it all up, but that character doesn't change."

"Shut up, Your Highness"

Scolding Prince Wilfred, Luke gazed at me again.

"That's why, ma'am. I came home as promised. Of course, you can still have it on your side, right?

Luke listens in a tone he doesn't expect to be turned down. And I nodded.

"Oh, of course. I was in trouble without a butler, so just get back to work."

"Even if I'm Grand Duke Soiree's grandson?

"So something about Luke changes? Then it's a problem."

"- No."

Luke laughs contentedly when he hears my answer.

"It doesn't change. I will serve the lady as I am."

Then there's nothing wrong with that.

"Yes."

Luke nodded at me, so I laughed, too.

Prince Wilfred looks complicated watching our exchange.

"... Something recently has seriously made Liz Beltran look more heroine. Either that or I'm starting to feel worse about quality than heroin. Brother... pathetic"

"... Lili. It's time for the ceremony. Let's go."

My father urged me to stay still. Eyes on Luke, mouth open.

"Luke, are you okay with that?

"Yes, Duke. My name is Liz, and I'm Luke, Lady's dedicated butler."

"Okay. Then let's treat it that way. Luke, as always, take care of Lili"

"I understand. I'll show you."

I bow my head respectfully and Luke leads us. Prince Wilfred also lined up next to Luke as he panicked.

I heard them whispering as I stared at their backs.

"Hey, why is Luke with His Highness Wilfred?

"Forgive me, Your Majesty."

"... Father thinks it's bad for Luke, too. It was a bit forceful this time. I'm taking you home because you're my grandson. Give me your permission. There wasn't. I wish we had at least an agreement in person, wouldn't this be it?

Prince Wilfred adds to Luke's answer.

It's a whispering exchange, so I was fortunate that the soldiers standing on both ends of the carpet didn't hear me.

Stand through the long hallway and in front of the Great Hall.

Luke and Prince Wilfred retreated to both sides of the hallway.

Make sure my father and I stood in front of the door, and the soldiers waiting slowly open the door.

……

The great hall was as if it were between sights.

Red and gold carpet in the center. Domestic aristocrats line up on both sides of it. The deepest part of the great hall is about two steps tall, and the throne is seated on the top. Of course there were kings and queens there. There's Al at a lower point, looking at me and smiling. He looked golden in white, but was dazzled enough.

The grand hall, coloured with gold, is brilliant, as if it had even come to the world of dreams. The wall was hung with a tapestry with a royal crest, and I felt a hint that there was going to be a serious ceremony now.

Breathtaking without thinking of the rolling sight.

My father pulled my hand and I managed to walk, but if I had been alone, I would have been stuck and unable to move. I felt the royal glory and realised that I was going to be a part of it.

- I'm really going to marry Al.

What we're going to do now is an engagement and not a wedding. But there was an atmosphere there that made me think so.

Al descends from the top and stands in the middle of the carpet. My father stopped and looked at me.

I nod small, walk away from my father and to Al.

I was so nervous that I wondered if my whole body had turned into a heart.

"Lili."

Put your own hand on the palm you offered me. That drained my health terribly.

"Al......"

I look up at Al even though I'm horrified. He narrowed his eyes and laughed happily.

"We finally have the conditions for the engagement ceremony. Now you cannot escape me. [M] You can't break an engagement after an engagement ceremony. All you have to do is marry me. You're in trouble."

"I have no trouble at all. I'm glad to hear that."

"That's what you say. That's why I love you."

Al laughs with pleasure. Thus it turned toward the king and queen.

"From this, we will perform the engagement ceremony of the first prince of the kingdom of Roseblade, Alan Roseblade and the Duke of Beltran, Liz Beltran"
