I Favor the Villainess

105. The omen of the revolution

The demonstrations of the civilians continue.

The crowd filling Main Street in front of the Capitol was growing in numbers day by day.

Voices denouncing the Interim Government and calling for a royal resurrection are becoming stronger and stronger.

But the interim government, including Dear Dollar, never changed its attitude.

"Yes, yes, please line up! We just need to get right to everyone!

"Please take your time!

Speaking of which, we were anxious to expand the demonstration but continued to cook it out.

More and more people are also having trouble eating every day because of tax increases, and the number of people relying on this cookout is high.

Now we're still doing something about it, but it's not that far away that if we keep increasing, we'll run out of food stocks.

And I was afraid...

"We're a little smaller today than we were yesterday, aren't we?

"Yes."

Lady Claire noticed that she had extra ingredients to prepare.

Sometimes there 'll be days like that, and that's the end of the day.

"You're down again today."

……

The next day and the day after that, the number of people lining up for Master Claire's cookout decreased slightly.

"What the hell is going on...?

The answers to Master Claire's questions were readily available.

- The Resistance has set up a revolutionary government. Abundant rationing begins.

Soon, because there was an article like that in the paper.

The newspaper also tells us that skirmishes are beginning to break out between the Interim Government and the Revolutionary Government.

"... oh my god"

Lady Claire is stunned when she reads the article.

(... finally got here, or what?)

When it comes to me, this flow is also within my expectations.

In "Revolution," there were many routes of falling in sad love with the princes, who were the object of attack as the revolution unfolded.

But there was also a revolutionary route in which the protagonist himself became the flag in the revolution, not connected to any of the princes.

This flow is close to the shape that involved Master Claire in that revolutionary route.

Very different from the original is the fact that Master Claire has popular support and that the royal family is being asked to resurrect.

(If I don't keep steering this wrong, I'm sure...)

Me and that guy's big wish accomplishments aren't that far off either.

"Ray, are you listening?

"Hiya!?

He suddenly pulled his ear back at me.

If you look, Master Claire has a blue face.

"Finally, there's a revolutionary government, isn't there? As it is, this country..."

"It's okay, Master Claire. It's a flow within the assumptions."

"... is it true?

"Yes, Claire, please keep cooking."

"... I see."

That's why I'm here today and to cook it out...

"... very few people come."

"Hey."

In contrast to Master Claire, who stirred up a sense of crisis, I answered to relaxation.

"That's not true! Doesn't that mean all the people have turned to the support of the revolutionary government!?

"Perhaps. But that's fine."

"Where would you like it!

And so on and Dear Claire. I'm telling you,

"Excuse me. Is this Claire-François's cookout inconsistent?

Several men came with them.

The outfit is superior to the civilian population.

But it didn't seem aristocratic.

"Yes, but what about you?

"We are from the revolutionary government."

The look on Claire's face became more rude when the delegate and the bumpy man named him that way.

"... what can I do for you?

"Dear Claire-François, I am impressed with the activities that I think of your people. But from now on, the revolutionary government will be responsible for the distribution to the people. So I was wondering if you could help me."

"Cooperation," he said.

Master Claire gets a lot worse.

"You said you were from the Revolutionary Government, right?

"Yes."

"I recognize you. He was one of Suras' men, wasn't he?

"Yes."

The man did not deny it.

I didn't realize, but according to Lady Claire, he seemed to be one of the private soldiers I saw in Suras' office.

"This one was the guardian of the former Baron Thompson family, and over there he was the guardian of the Count Yale family"

"Why are those people in the revolutionary government?

"Dear Claire," they lost their jobs. "

"I've arranged everything for you to get back to work, haven't I?

"Yeah, I appreciate that. But someone hired me on better terms. That's former Chancellor Suras."

"! Where is Suras!

Master Claire asks, but the man shook his head.

"I can't say. He's the one we need from this country."

"Suras is connected to the Empire!?

"The Nah Empire is working together to ensure that this country truly belongs to the people."

"No! The Empire wants this country to be ours."

"Cooperation, what exactly should I do?

Holding Master Claire's mouth, I began negotiations.

"We would like you to provide us with the food you are storing. We still have stockpiles, but we've never had more."

That's what the man replied when I asked.

"Fine. Instead, there are conditions here too."

"Let's go."

The man nodded to Eagle Deep Fried.

"Please don't involve Master Claire in what the Revolutionary Government is going to do"

"... that's hard. Master Dollar is a key member of the Bad Interim Government. Don't do anything to that dollar. It's impossible."

The man shook his head.

But I won't give up.

"I'm not telling Master Dollar not to do anything. I'm asking you not to involve Lady Claire."

"... Hmm?

"Are you familiar with Claire's activities so far? Master Claire loves the people. Dear Dollars, I'm not like any other nobleman."

"... does that mean that only Master Claire can miss,?

"That's what I mean"

The man showed a sleigh to think about.

Master Claire is holding back. Mm-hmm. I'm raising a protest, but I just have to ask her to keep me company for a while.

"How much reserves can you provide?

"That's about it."

I gave a rough estimate.

A man stripped his eyes to his surprise for a moment, but immediately flattened his expression.

"To that extent..."

"Then there was no such thing as this story."

……

If my memory is certain, the revolutionary government should not yet have sufficient food reserves at this stage.

Advertised newspapers that they could provide abundant food rations in order to mount support from the civilian population, but they were supposed to have to somehow hold it until more people arrived than expected and reinforcements from the Empire arrived.

I stuck there.

"... fine. I promise not to lay a hand on Lady Claire at all."

"Thank you. If you make a mistake, please consider that support from XX will be stopped immediately."

"What is XX?

"Ask Ara-Raster or Arvine-Raster and you'll see."

"... Yes, I did. See you later on the transfer of food"

The soldiers and I broke up once.

"Puha. Ray! What are you doing here?"

"It's also convenient to lie," he said. Dear Claire. "

I said, so as to deceive the exasperating Master Claire.

"Convenient?"

"What do revolutionary governments and others think and do? The only way to explore it is to get closer from here."

I go on.

"The food supply is to bring Master Claire closer to the Revolutionary Government with that trust."

I'm not going to give it to the revolutionary government, am I?

"Of course it is. What we need to do is stand around well between the Interim Government and the Revolutionary Government to explore where to drop it. This is extremely political, and as things stand, only Master Claire can do it."

"Only to me...?

"Yes. It's a difficult standing around. Can you do that?

I ask, Master Claire,

"Hmm. Who do you think I am? Treasury Minister Dollar-François is my son, Claire-François, right? That's about it, before breakfast."

And I laughed invincibly.

"Thank you"

"You didn't even know what you were thinking, and you said something to blame. I apologize, Ray."

There's no annihilation.

There really is no extermination.

Whatever...

It's more convenient because it's what I said to Claire.
