I Favor the Villainess

127. Imperial Room

The kingdom of the Nah Empire is located east of the Kingdom of Bauer.

To list the positional relationships of the countries that have ever engaged us, Bauer's western neighbor is Appalachia, his southern neighbor is Suse, and Rollo is just beyond the desert zone further west of Appalachia.

As you can see from this positional relationship, of the planned coalition, Bauer is the closest to the Empire.

After all, the biggest risks and burdens will also mean Bauer.

The coalition proponents say it's like Manaria, so I don't think it's going to impose a burden on Bauer alone, but diplomacy is basically a world of weak predators that doesn't deserve to be taken into account, for example, personal emotions.

Dear Manaria, I don't know what Suse as a country thinks of you personally.

Of course, that's the same thing with Bauer, and if it was just stephumanity, Bauer had the option of poking at the Empire's peace negotiations and confronting the Empire in full with a coalition of three countries.

But in view of Bauer's current national power, that's not a very smart option.

Even in a first form, the only thing that had to be done was to show an attitude of responsiveness to peace.

Around there, I can only say that the diplomacy of the empire, which has followed the weakest of the Union of Three Kingdoms, has been very old.

And well, for Bauer, it's an empire that's a tattoo above his eyes, but what kind of country it actually is, the people of the Kingdom of Bauer are largely mistaken.

Perhaps many imagine a dictatorship, like exploiting the people and spending only money on armaments.

"... that's not what I imagined."

Coming to the Nah Imperial Capital Room, we got off the carriage there and were on our way to Imperial Castle on foot.

The line above is a word from Lady Claire who saw the township of Empire on the road.

"The city is vibrant, and you can barely see the military."

"Well, this is a street with a central market. Without this vibrancy, the Empire would have no room for foreign aggression."

Both callers and shoppers have bright expressions and the city is full of vibrancy.

The side-by-side shops were selling a variety of things, and many of the annexed countries' specialties were seen as well as properties in the neighborhood of Teito.

"Besides, I'm amazed at the number of races people go out with. There are a lot of hair and skin colors that you wouldn't see first in the kingdom. Besides, it doesn't look like he's being extraordinarily tortured or enslaved. It looks like we're being treated differently from the rest of the citizens."

This was a slightly new sight in my eyes, too, when I grew up in Japan, where dark eyes and dark hair were basic.

Of course, for me, Bauer felt exotic at first, but based on that, the Empire has a diverse race to go with.

This has a lot to do with the imperial's basic policies in politics.

"Dear Claire, do you remember what the principles of the Empire's political policy were?

"It's capability, isn't it? It's the same as His Majesty's policy."

That's Mr. Claire, who's an excellent educator.

It also goes to the politics of neighboring countries.

But that's not wrong, but it's not even right enough.

"Empire capability is more thorough than Bauer's."

"What do you mean?

"You know the empire is invading and annexing various countries, right?

"Yes."

"Empires naturalize annexed countries, but those with the ability to do so employ them regardless of their nationality."

This policy is unexpectedly favoured by the ruling class in the nationalized country, although it hates as much as snake scorpions.

For talented people who were capable but could not see the day, the imperial deference of the fatherland is sometimes even more of an gospel.

"The foreign minister of the present empire should also have originally come from a country called Rasha in the nationalized north"

"You're saying you're leaving diplomacy to someone other than a native!?

"Yes. This has not been the case for a long time. It's been more than a decade since the present emperor's reign."

Originally, the Empire was a country with aggressive diplomacy, but it was not until the current Emperor Dorothea was in his place that some rationality, unity, was brought about there.

Dorothea-Nah was born as the second empress of the previous emperor.

Yes, the current emperor is an empress.

The Nah Empire has been inherited by men for generations, but Dorothea took the empire from his father by his own talent, his political skill up to the point of violence, and his rationality up to the point of stoic.

When he turned his father into a deceased, Dorothea says:

- This was the fastest, fastest.

It was only a seven-year-old statement at the time.

Of course, there must have been an adult who was the back shield at the time, but for just a shrine, the impact she then had on the Empire was too great.

"That's a terrible story."

"But its ability comes with origami. Dorothea is not only out of political skill, but also out of his ability as a samurai. You heard from Master Rod, didn't you? One of her two names is Sword God."

"Didn't you defeat one of Suse's battalions alone? It's..."

"I haven't had many stories. It's just a fact."

Dorothea is what we call charisma.

The empire is a dictatorship, but its form is unshakeable because the monarch, Dorothea, is competent.

Haven't you heard of it?

The dictatorship of a competent monarch is stronger than a democracy by an incompetent sovereign.

I disagree with this theory, but I also believe that there is a part of it that should be listened to.

"Dorothea is not so scared."

An imperial man guiding us said with a bitter smile.

There was no color to blame for that tone, it was a common mistake, and it felt like I was used to it.

"Indeed, Master Dorothea has a lot of noisy anecdotes. But everyone who has spoken straight away will like Master Dorothea. He's very attractive. I'm sure you'll see each other."

To the man's tone, he was even familiar.

He must have seen Dorothea before.

It was like introducing a friend, and that's what he said.

"I used to rebel against the Empire, too. I come from a country called Sisi in the south. When the Empire nationalized Sisi, he threw himself into demonstrations and opposition movements, but soon those movements disappeared. Because Dorothea's reign was much easier to live in than Shishi's nobles."

"So I'm not resenting you," he said?

Master Claire asked carefully.

The man laughs,

"Yep. I'd rather appreciate it"

And that's what I said.

"It's time to see the Imperial Castle."

When I saw the man pointing, a huge building appeared.

"That's... Imperial Castle..."

The castle of the emperor Dorothea - it was not like the royal palace of Bauer, it looked more like a fortress than a castle.

It is such a robust and playless building that it is more prepared for its external enemies than it is proud of its authority.

The beauty seemed to imply a crowd of emperors yet to be seen.

"You forgot to tell me"

The man stopped his leg and turned back this way, he said:

"Welcome to the Nah Empire"
