Ravenna walked beside Silver while Antony followed a few steps behind, talking about the training room as though he hadn’t just spent the last hour trying to hit her with a training weapon.

"I think the floor could be improved," Antony said.

Ravenna glanced back.

"The floor?"

"Yes."

"You cracked it."

"Exactly." Antony pointed at the damaged section. "That’s the problem."

Silver looked over his shoulder.

"You cracked the floor because you hit it too hard."

"Which means the floor isn’t strong enough, if only little hits like that could damage the floor, won’t the whole room get destroyed if anyone decided to fight on full strength."

Ravenna stared at him. Silver could see the question forming in her eyes. He shook his head slightly at her.

Don’t bother.

Ravenna sighed.

"You are really an over thinker aren’t you?"

"I get that a lot. My mum kind of complained about it but eventually she got used to it. She says I talk alot but I think I don’t talk enough."

Antony smiled brightly.

Silver couldn’t help laughing. There was something strangely refreshing about him. He was eccentric, certainly, but he didn’t seem malicious.

They eventually reached the elevator, and Antony pressed the button.

"So where are you two actually going?"

Silver looked at him.

"That’s something we’re still deciding."

"You’re going to the Academy, aren’t you?"

"Probably."

Antony nodded.

"I thought so."

"Why are you so interested in the Academy?"

Antony shrugged.

"Because it’s interesting, you know. It seems like a fun place, living here and seeing the same people everyday eventually becomes really boring. The academy might bring something new tp the table."

"That’s it?"

"That’s enough, reason to leave. Have you never felt that urge to just throw everything away and leave?"

Silver smiled, and shook his head. He remembered his life on earth, life had been moving from one place to another especially with the war and just army politics.

When his parents died, that was the only thing keeping him from all the things happening in his normal life, especially with his parents death always circling back to him. Silver had spent most of the time blaming himself for their death, and had been moving like a machine, just living day by day.

His life had been monotonous but now that he had come to this new world and found purpose, he couldn’t be more grateful for the bullet.

He couldn’t have imagined how life would have been if he had gone along with his life on earth. He didn’t even want to imagine that life.

He looked at the smiling Ravenna and took her hand into his. Ravenna glanced at him eyebrow raised. Silver smiled, she shrugged her shoulders and tightened her hold on his hand.

She looked back at Antony.

"You’ve never tried to leave here, maybe go to a different sanctuary and coming back?"

"No."

"Why? Didn’t you just say it’s boring here?"

"I didn’t have a reason. I’m nit just joining some random te just because."

Ravenna gave him a strange look. Antony seemed completely unconcerned. The elevator arrived, and they stepped inside.

Silver stood beside Ravenna, hands still clasped, while Antony leaned against the wall. For a few seconds, nobody spoke, then Antony suddenly looked at Silver.

"Can I ask you something?"

"Sure."

"How did you know I was Rank Two?"

Silver’s eyes narrowed slightly. He had expected the question eventually.

"I guessed."

Antony stared at him.

"You guessed? That’s ridiculous."

"Your presence suggested that." Silver gave the safest answer he could. "I’ve fought enough Rank Twos to recognize the difference, and you wouldn’t have been matched with Ravenna if you were a Rank one or above."

Antony considered that.

"Hm, that makes sense."

He didn’t look convinced, but he didn’t push. The elevator reached their floor, and they stepped out.

Antony stopped near his own room.

"You’re also in this floor, what a coincidence?" Ravenna jokingly said.

"Right, coincidence... I’ll see you tomorrow?"

Silver nodded.

"Probably."

"Good." Antony smiled. "I’ll think about what we’re going to do."

Silver frowned.

"What we’re going to do?"

"Yes."

"We haven’t decided anything."

"Yet."

Antony grinned, then he entered his room. The door closed behind him.

Silver and Ravenna continued toward theirs. Neither spoke until they were safely inside. Ravenna kicked off her shoes and dropped onto the sofa.

"He’s something else. Didn’t he say he lives in the sanctuary?"

Silver closed the door.

"Yes?"

"Then, why the heck is he staying in this hotel, it’s expensive. If I had a home here, I wouldn’t even think about it."

"He probably checked in yesterday as he waiting for an answer, I can bet my life on that."

"But I think I like him. He might have one weird power, but well, who doesn’t this days?"

Silver looked at her.

"Yeah, I wonder what he integrated. The system doesn’t show. I checked his stats but I wasn’t too keen on it."

"What beasts do you think are Genderless?"

"Nothing comes into mind. We’ll look into in the library."

"We should do that when we’re free, or we could just ask him?"

Silver nodded.

"We probably should, instead of wasting our time."

Ravenna leaned back avoiding his gaze.

"I want to ask you a hypothetical question?"

"What is it?"

She looked at him.

"It’s only hypothetical remember that okay, I won’t get angry or anything?"

Silver smiled.

"You’re scaring me Ravenna, what is it?"

Silver could already guess what she was about to say but he was praying his head that he was wrong.

"Hypothetically, if I had that power, would you still want me?"

Silver didn’t answer immediately.

’Fuck!’

Ravenna sighed.

"You don’t really have to answer, it was only hypothetical."

Silver looked at her.

"I don’t?"

"Yes." She smiled. "It was just something that came to mind in passing, nothing serious."

Silver’s expression softened.

"I’ll love you anyway, you’re still you in the long run. You don’t have to worry about that."

She waved her hand, smiling.

"Don’t say such cheesy things, it’s giving me goosebumps."

"You still liked it."

Silver laughed.

Ravenna smiled.

For a moment, everything was peaceful, then Silver remembered something. He had been so focused on Antony that he hadn’t checked his own condition since their recent battles and absorption.

He had also been pushing himself constantly. His Mind Fortress had prevented the headaches that had once accompanied his heavier use of his Spatial powers.

His swordsmanship had improved, his attributes had increased, and there was the new Soul Insight skill. Silver wanted to see exactly how much he had changed.

He sat down on the edge of the bed.

"Ravenna."

"Hm?"

"I’m going to check something."

She looked at him.

"Your stats?"

"Yeah."

"Go ahead."

The System responded almost immediately.

Silver slowly opened his eyes. He looked at the status again. The increase in stats and all had been expected but still seeing his own improvement made him happy with their journey.

He hoped he could be at rank three before he reached the academy so that he could be able to stand on top in his class,he knew he was going to meet more talented people and he wanted to stand on top of them.

He looked down at their shared skills. While he hadn’t told Ravenna, he knew she could feel the synchronization between them.

Their battles had forced them to coordinate almost instinctively, their conversations had strengthened their trust, and their relationship had officially changed.

The skills had responded accordingly. Silver wondered what its next level would eventually allow him to do.

Then his attention moved to his attributes. He focused on his mental Resistance. It was considerably higher than when he had first arrived in this world, and the difference was noticeable.

The headaches that had once accompanied his use of powers were gone. Even during the battles in the ravine and the fight against the burrowing beast, his mind had remained much more stable.

Mind Fortress was already proving its worth.

Silver couldn’t help smiling.

"What’s making you smile?"

Ravenna was watching him.

"Nothing."

"You’re staring into space again."

"I was checking my progress."

"Anything interesting?"

"Some things."

He didn’t tell her everything, she already knew enough. Silver then looked at his skills.

His Swordsmanship hadn’t reached another level yet, and that one caught his attention. It had been improving steadily throughout their journey. The numerous fights had finally pushed it forward.
