I Have A Dual World Seal

Chapter 1334 - 1333: Watching Penguins in Antarctica

Although Lu Zheng had already eaten dinner, he still had to make the Braised Profound Snake, Braised Giant Shrimp, and Green Oil Seasonal Vegetables he’d promised to cook that afternoon.

Fortunately, Si Lingxi and the others had all achieved success in their Cultivation, so whether they ate at seven or at ten, it made no difference.

That very night, Liu Qingyan dragged Lu Zheng around Tonglin County, then had a separate deep dive with him into the human‑body research part of Medical Skill.

And then that "research" moved onto the bed.

Early the next morning, Shen Ying lay in Lu Zheng’s arms, smiling blissfully. "What a rarity, Qingyan actually tanked you alone for a whole night?"

Lu Zheng looked perfectly justified. "We were discussing Medical Skill last night!"

Then he immediately changed the subject, lifting his chin toward the TV news. "The smog in Korea is already starting to lighten up?"

"Looks like it." Shen Ying nodded casually. "Most of it’s been sucked up already."

Lin Wan had changed clothes and was about to head out. Hearing this, she added, "Smog in the sky, Brother Wei in the river—Korea’s famous now."

"Does this count as a living hell down here?" Lu Zheng smacked his lips, then suddenly asked, "Has Seoul’s housing market crashed?"

Lin Wan was briefly stunned. "I haven’t paid special attention to that, but since there’s been no news, I guess probably not?"

Lu Zheng rubbed his chin. "If house prices haven’t crashed, that means the pressure isn’t enough yet!"

Lin Wan was speechless and decisively went out the door.

Shen Ying, meanwhile, shifted into a more comfortable pose on the sofa, then stuffed her soft, white little feet into Lu Zheng’s arms, lazily saying, "I’m so bored, let’s go out and play?"

"Any ideas?"

"It’s way too hot. Let’s go to Antarctica and see the penguins!" Shen Ying proposed.

Lu Zheng shook his head. "No objection from me."

Then Si Lingxi put down her copy of "Slaying Immortals." "Then let’s set off."

...

Back in the ancient side, they’re not short on pure‑white snowfield giant white bears, and there are also big black bears, big brown bears, piebald bears, golden‑fur bears, red‑tailed bears, and so on.

There are really quite a lot of bear‑type ferocious beasts.

But penguins... they really don’t have any!

The planet where Great Jing is located is one continuous landmass. Though the north and south poles are covered in ice and snow, living creatures are very few, and the environment is extremely harsh. Even Great Powers who have perfected their Cultivation rarely go to such places.

So even for Si Lingxi, penguins were a creature she’d never seen.

Compared to the cuteness of red pandas, Si Lingxi’s impression of penguins was on par with ostriches. The only reason she didn’t wipe them off the "bird" list entirely was that she’s soft‑hearted.

But once they were actually on site, the way a whole group of penguins waddled and bobbed their heads was honestly pretty hilarious.

"Click! Click!"

The same Si Lingxi who’d felt penguins were a disgrace to birds was now taking photos.

As for Lu Zheng and Shen Ying, they naturally pretended they couldn’t be seen.

"Damn! They really have feathers?" Lu Zheng scooped up an emperor penguin beside him and released just the tiniest bit of Spiritual Qi. This half‑grown emperor penguin instantly stopped struggling, lying quietly in Lu Zheng’s arms and letting him knead it however he liked.

"For a while I always thought penguins had no feathers, that it was just a layer of smooth skin." Lu Zheng laughed.

"Since they can’t fly, and spend all day either standing on shore or swimming in the water, if their feathers were like ordinary birds, now that would be weird."

Shen Ying was also holding a little penguin, running her hand over its smooth, slick feathers. "Let’s not talk about ostriches, which can’t fly and can only run. Even in Great Jing there are those birds that can’t really fly and can only glide. Chickens and ducks raised by humans have basically lost the ability to fly too, but...

They still live on land. Penguins, though, are something else; they just straight up moved into the water, and they go in daily. The deeper they dive, the better, and in the ocean they’re actually even more agile than on land. It’s way too fun."

Birds that live on lakes or at sea aren’t exactly rare; diving into the water to catch fish is common. But those are still fundamentally flying animals. Penguins, by contrast, have pretty much turned themselves into fish.

Si Lingxi didn’t handle them directly. She only saw two little penguins trembling as a big penguin knocked them over, so with a casual wave she scooped up a whole bunch of small fish and shrimp from the sea, and with a splash, let a gourmet rain fall over the penguin colony.

"Ah! Ah! Ah!"

"Gak! Gak! Gak!"

Big penguins and little penguins all cried out, heads down as they scrambled for food. And for those little penguins that had just been knocked flat, several krill and squid were delivered straight into their mouths.

"Chomp! Chomp!"

All the penguins, big and small, opened their beaks to eat, not wasting a single bit of this gift from heaven.

Lu Zheng and Shen Ying also put down the penguins in their arms. The two little guys looked back at them, calling out nostalgically as they ran at top speed into the colony to grab all the delicacies scattered everywhere.

Near Antarctica, humans are rare and penguins have always had abundant food. With this extra gourmet shower as a supplement, they were stuffed full; some even started hiccupping.

Then a few penguins with a bit of spiritual awareness waddled back over to Lu Zheng and Shen Ying.

Lu Zheng himself wasn’t that interested, but Shen Ying crouched down prettily, hugging several penguins big and small, sometimes taking selfies, sometimes posing for Lu Zheng to snap photos. They got quite a few shots of Antarctic scenery, and she even did a little Antarctica costume‑change shoot.

For these cooperating penguins, she gifted each one a wisp of Spiritual Qi, making their bones and bodies stronger, fatter and sturdier, and sharpening their reactions so that their chances of getting eaten when they ran into predators would drop significantly.

"Hm?"

Lu Zheng’s brows lifted as he looked toward the icebergs on the left. "A ship’s coming."

Behind the iceberg, a research vessel was heading their way.

"Technology really is advanced now. Even the uninhabited Antarctic glacier zones are dotted with research stations and research ships. There are even tourists coming out here." Lu Zheng shook his head helplessly.

When they’d just arrived, the Antarctic Continent was still desolate, but all the important spots had already been taken over by scientific research stations from various countries. And in the seas around Antarctica—especially near the South Shetland Islands off South America and the Antarctic Peninsula—cruise ships were constantly passing through.

So they made a point of circling halfway around to reach a deserted stretch of coastline, where they found an emperor penguin colony that hadn’t been disturbed. They hadn’t expected to still run into a research vessel circling Antarctica.

However...

Si Lingxi and Shen Ying hadn’t had enough fun yet. How could they let these guys spoil their mood?

So Lu Zheng waved his hand and hid the whole penguin colony here along with the three of them.

Right after they turned Invisible, a research ship came out from beside the iceberg. The researchers, reporters, and engineers on board—some were working, some resting, and some holding up binoculars, watching the icefield coastline.

"Huh?"

"I remember there was an emperor penguin colony living on this stretch of coast. Why are they gone?"

"All in the water fishing, or did the whole group migrate?"
