Chapter 2080 - 2073: Let Me Dominate the Screen First
Zhang Menglong didn’t know much about the world’s races and hadn’t interacted with many. At the Myriad Tribes Auction, he would inevitably encounter many races, so two extreme Dao Realm human experts accompanied him.
These two were named Ozer and Dominic. They were among the most experienced in surviving the Myriad Tribes Contest among living humans. With their company, they might avoid some troubles.
The Myriad Tribes Auction was established in a small, separate world within this one. After a city defense battle ended, the City Lord had already given them a teleportation scroll. Just by activating the scroll’s power, they would be instantly teleported to the site of the Myriad Tribes Bazaar.
The Myriad Tribes Bazaar would only last for three days. Any delay might mean losing the chance to get something good. Zhang Menglong and the other two said their goodbyes and activated the scroll’s power, carrying the entire hope of humanity with them.
...
The surroundings instantly switched to another place. Not only Zhang Menglong, but Ozer and Dominic also curiously observed their surroundings. After all, this was the first time humans were qualified to attend the Myriad Tribes Auction. Everything here was unfamiliar and intriguing to them.
However, the bazaar was not as high-end and classy as imagined. Instead, it was filled with the earthly atmosphere of a chaotic marketplace on Earth.
The entire venue was a white world, and besides the boundless space, there weren’t any other structures. In this space, the ground was divided into areas, each roughly a hundred and eighty square meters. The number of areas matched the number of qualified races present.
"Hello, everyone. May I ask which race you are from?" An entity resembling a rule figure approached them and asked.
"We are humans!" Zhang Menglong replied.
"Humans, is it?" The rule figure said, "Your booth is at position number 27363632. Please follow me. From now until the end of the bazaar, I will be humans’ exclusive assistant! You may call me Kia."
The rule figure’s appearance started to change and eventually transformed into a standard human beauty, aligning with most human races’ aesthetic preferences.
Back at the teleportation point, another rule figure appeared, indicating that the bazaar assigned a guide-like figure for each race.
Kia led them to their booth while explaining the bazaar’s rules.
"The entire bazaar will last three days, with two days for free trading, and on the last day, some rare ancient relics will be auctioned."
"All ancient relics can only be bartered or purchased using Supreme Crystals here. Robbery and theft will not happen, as all ancient relics carried by races have specific imprints. Once you purchase something, ensure the imprint has been removed and replaced with a human mark by the rules of this world."
"What happens if we obtain something with another race’s imprint?" Zhang Menglong asked.
"Then you’re holding a useless item. Items with another race’s ancient relic imprint are unusable."
"That indeed prevents robbery and theft," Zhang Menglong nodded.
It seemed the previous area was just an entry zone. After a short walk, Zhang Menglong saw a dense crowd. These beings had diverse appearances: some looked like humans, some like Warcraft, some half-human, half-spirit—truly a wide spectacle.
Most of these races had little interaction with humans; they didn’t even know the race names, let alone hold any grudges, passing each other like strangers. At most, they were slightly curious about other races’ appearances, as those appearing different were considered aliens to them!
Many booths were already set up with identifiable race markings, so no one feared theft and directly displayed everything!
"Is everyone that poor?" Zhang Menglong wondered, observing sparsely filled booths, some with only a dozen items, others with fifty or sixty. Didn’t they claim to have amassed all their race’s resources?
Even if the drop rate was low, after the Beast Tide, they should have accumulated something!
But Zhang Menglong forgot something. They indeed gained a lot from the Beast Tide, but not all races could fend it off using their own power. Many had to rely on outside help, like ancient relics.
Therefore, they harvested while utilizing, leaving little surplus.
"These should be weaker races, not even of a Level Six ranking," Dominic judged, "Among them, many couldn’t survive the Beast Tide, despite considerable effort and cost."
"Too cruel," Zhang Menglong murmured to himself.
The humans’ booth seemed further away. As they neared the center, the bazaar grew busier, and booths offered more items. Some races displayed three to five hundred ancient relics, some even a thousand!
Everything was clearly priced, with some items only exchangeable. They listed desired relics; those possessing the items could barter.
"Two million Supreme Crystals for one Beast God Scroll!"
"Two defensive ancient relics for one offensive ancient relic!"
"How strange, the number of Beast God Scrolls this year is so few. Prices have nearly doubled from previous years, yet they’re still scarce!"
...
"They’ve all been hoarded by me. If you can find plenty, that’d be strange," Zhang Menglong thought, secretly pleased by those discussions.
Ancient relics are non-renewable resources. Zhang Menglong extracted nearly ten thousand Beast God Scrolls from the Beast Tide, reducing other races’ chances. It was no wonder they were scarce in the market.
Hearing those prices, Zhang Menglong was somewhat apprehensive. Could some races even gather two million Supreme Crystals by using all their resources? How valuable are those Beast God Scrolls!
"The Beast God Scroll is a popular ancient relic," Dominic remarked, "Typically, only Level Three or higher races have the strength and wealth to acquire them."
"We’re here!" Kia announced as they reached a booth, "Here, you can sell your items. If you need anything, find me. I can gather all public information on the bazaar for you!"
"Of course, I can also release wanted info for you. Other races might contact you directly upon hearing it, for just 1,000 Supreme Crystals per message!"
"Rip-off!" Zhang Menglong cursed internally. A thousand Supreme Crystals could send ten people to the Supreme World, yet it only sends one message here. Why not just rob?
"Booth 3773716 releases a wanted message: seeking components for the Demon God Mecha, price negotiable!"
"Booth 2765 releases a wanted message: seeking Supreme Weapon..."
"Is this the wanted info?" Zhang Menglong noted the frequent announcements echoing throughout the space.
"Yes!"
"Then let’s make it stand out!"
