Chapter 128: Rin’s Lessons in Seducing Naviel (A Lesson for a Very Attentive Vaelory) III

Rin gave her a look, then rolled her eyes and smiled widely. It was a full, mocking smile that filled Vaelory with the creeps.

"Can you stop smiling like that?" Vaelory asked her.

"Smiling like what?"

"Like a demon."

Rin blinked. "I am a demon."

"Still, can you be a bit more human-like?"

"I am a demon!"

"At least don’t behave like one!" Vaelory said to her.

"How am I supposed to behave then? I am a demon," Rin told her.

"I don’t know... be less you and more... approachable. Or human," Vaelory told her.

"Again, I cannot behave like a human because I am a demon. And besides, if you are saying I should behave like a human for you, then you need to behave like a demon for me," Rin told her.

Vaelory gave her a disgusted look. "How do you expect me to behave like a demon when I’m a human? I am proper, and you guys are not."

"That’s the exact same thing I’m saying."

"You would be more approachable if you behaved like a human."

"I am not meant to be approachable, you empty vessel of a human. I am a demon. A raven-kin demon at that. I am not human and cannot behave like a human. How many times do you want us to go through this?" Rin asked, exasperated at how many times she had to tell Vaelory.

She was this close to opening Vaelory’s head to see if there was a brain in it at all—and if it was even functioning properly.

Yes, even though Rin had no idea about medicine, she would have done it. Although the answer would have been concluded before she even finished the study.

Rin sighed. "Put on the bloody dress and don’t get me annoyed, or your head will be gone from your body."

Vaelory gasped, a hand to her chest. "Why would you even want to take my—"

"Do you need my help in getting Naviel to notice you or not?" Rin asked Vaelory.

Vaelory cleared her throat, then adjusted her dress.

"Well," she said, "I followed you here, so that means I’m interested in what you have to tell me, even though..."

"Then put on the dress and stop irritating me," Rin said.

Vaelory huffed at that, then nodded. "Alright."

She said it, but she didn’t make any move to change into the dress.

"What are you doing?" Rin asked her. "Change, so I know exactly what dresses fit you and what you can buy and add to your wardrobe. Also, so I can know how to alter your maid dress to fit you and also fit the demon realm."

Vaelory rolled her eyes at her. "You should have said that the first time. But anyways, turn around so I can change," Vaelory told her.

Rin stared at her with a frown. "I should turn around?"

"Of course. I need to change, after all," Vaelory told her.

Rin scoffed. "I’ve seen the female anatomy more times than I can count. My cousins walk around naked. You don’t need to be shy with me, especially since it’s the same thing both of us have."

"It may be the same thing, but that doesn’t mean anything. It’s not comforting that you have seen the female anatomy more times than I can count," Vaelory told her.

Rin rolled her eyes. "You humans and your fake manners—"

"Turn. Around," Vaelory said sternly.

"I’m not going to turn around. You can change in my presence," Rin told her.

"I’m not even comfortable with you being in the same room with me, and you are telling me you want me to change in your presence? With you looking at me? That is very improper. I cannot do anything like that," Vaelory told her.

"What do you have that I do not have? You are not the queen, and you do not require privacy," Rin told her.

"I am not the queen, but I require privacy, and I’m not going to have some demon with black orbs for eyes staring at me while I change into clothes," Vaelory told her.

Rin glared at her, and Vaelory glared right back.

Rin sighed dramatically all of a sudden, even shocking Vaelory. "Fine, whatever the weak human wants, the weak human gets."

She turned her back, muttering under her breath. "Humans. So fragile. So loud about it too. What’s nakedness that I haven’t seen?"

Vaelory ignored her.

With careful movements, she slipped out of her maid uniform. The familiar fabric pooled at her feet, suddenly dull compared to the gold she held. She lifted the dress, hesitating only a moment before stepping into it.

The fabric slid over her skin smoothly.

It settled perfectly, as if it had been made specifically for her.

Vaelory froze, breath catching—not out of embarrassment, but surprise. She had never worn anything like this. Never felt anything fit so naturally.

Rin’s voice drifted over her shoulder, breaking the moment. "Are you done yet?"

Vaelory straightened. "Yes."

Rin turned, then stared at Vaelory with wide eyes. But then she caught herself and pressed her lips into a thin line.

"For someone who pales in comparison to other demons, this actually suits you. It’s almost like you are one of us," Rin told her.

Vaelory rolled her eyes. "I will never be one of you demons."

"You are in the demon realm, and you have to do as we do here," Rin told her.

"That doesn’t make me a demon."

Rin paused, head tilted in thought, then nodded. "That’s true. You are too weak-willed to be a demon, after all."

Vaelory’s eyes twitched as Rin moved to one of the sewing machines.

"You can take that dress off. Now we’ll work on your maid dress and adjust it according to demon standards—and also according to what suits you. No more of that gaudy thing you wear," Rin told her.

Vaelory nodded, then asked Rin, who was now behind a sewing machine, "Can you sew?"

Rin turned to her. "Not at all."
